Abstract

This paper explores the application of quantum error correction (QEC) codes to enhance the fault tolerance of distributed database systems. Traditional distributed database systems face significant challenges in maintaining data integrity due to inherent vulnerabilities in communication channels and potential hardware failures. Leveraging the powerful error correction capabilities of QEC codes offers a novel approach to address these issues. This research investigates the theoretical design of a distributed database architecture employing QEC codes, focusing on improved data redundancy and robust error detection and correction during data transmission and storage. The core claim is that applying QEC codes allows for the design of more fault-tolerant distributed databases, leading to increased data reliability. The proposed mechanism involves integrating QEC codes into the database's storage and transmission processes, effectively mitigating errors introduced during data transfer and bolstering overall system reliability. This work provides a foundational understanding for future research and potential implementation in high-availability distributed database systems. ---
