Abstract

This paper explores the application of quantum error correction (QEC) codes to enhance the reliability and fault tolerance of distributed storage systems. Traditional storage systems are vulnerable to various forms of data loss during transmission and storage, leading to significant data corruption and reduced availability. QEC codes provide a robust mechanism to detect and correct errors introduced by noise and imperfections in the physical storage medium and communication channels. This work investigates the theoretical foundations of utilizing QEC codes within a distributed architecture. We delve into the selection of appropriate QEC codes based on their error correction capabilities and overhead, and examine the challenges associated with implementing these codes in a distributed environment. Specifically, we analyze the impact of code distance, the number of parity checks, and the overall system complexity. The core claim of this paper is the utilization of quantum error correction codes to protect data stored in distributed systems, achieving high reliability and fault tolerance. The core mechanism employed is the application of quantum error correction codes for data encoding and error detection and correction, ensuring data integrity throughout transmission and storage. This research highlights the potential of QEC codes to revolutionize data storage by providing a secure and reliable solution in an era of increasing data volumes and stringent data integrity requirements. ---
