Abstract

An open quantum bipartite system consisting of two independent two-level atoms interacting nonlinearly with a two-mode electromagnetic cavity field is investigated by proposing a suitable non-Hermitian generalization of the Hamiltonian. The mathematical procedure of obtaining the corresponding wave function of the system is clearly given. Pancharatnam phase is studied to give a precise information about the required initial system state, which is related to artificial phase jumps, to control the degree of entanglement (DEM) and get the highest concurrence. We discuss the effect of time-variation coupling, and dissipation of both atoms and cavity. The effect of the time-variation function appears as frequency modulation (FM) effect in the radio waves. Concurrence rapidly reaches the disentangled state (death of entanglement) by increasing the effect of field decay. On the contrary, the atomic decay has no effect.

The effect of the classical driving field on the dynamics of entanglement of two qubits interacting with two dissipative cavities

Alireza Nourmandipour

In this article, we first introduce a system consisting of two dissipative cavities, in each of which there is a two-level atom. Each of the atoms is under the influence of a classical laser field, which causes the displacement of their energy levels. The correlation between two cavities is given by the field-field interaction term. We use the Gardiner-Collet model to describe the dissipation in this research. After introducing the Hamiltonian of the system, we simplify the Hamiltonian by using the Fano technique and introducing two sets of new operators. Also, with introducing the atomic bare bases, the Hamiltonian of the system will become a solvable form. Then, by using the technique of Laplace transforms, we solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation and find the explicit form of the system's wave function at every moment of time. Having the wave function of the atom-atom system and using the concurrence criterion, we investigate the entanglement dynamics of the system in two strong and weak interaction regimes corresponding to the non-Markovian and Markovian regimes. The results show that there will be no stable state of entanglement in this system. We will also show that the classical laser field will play a constructive role in maintaining the initial entanglement as well as the generated entanglement.

Entanglement of two atoms interacting with a dissipative coherent cavity field without rotating wave approximation

Guodong Kang, Mao-Fa Fang, Xi-Cheng Ouyang +1 more

Considering two identical two-level atoms interacting with a single-model dissipative coherent cavity field without rotating wave approximation, we explore the entanglement dynamics of the two atoms prepared in different states using concurrence. Interestingly, our results show that the entanglement between the two atoms that initially disentangled will come up to a large constant rapidly, and then keeps steady in the following time or always has its maximum when prepared in some special Bell states. The model considered in this study is a good candidate for quantum information processing especially for quantum computation as steady high-degree atomic entanglement resource obtained in dissipative cavity.

The entangleable properties of two atoms inside the dissipative cavity

Zhang Li-Hui

We have investigated the entangleable properties of two two-level atoms inside the dissipative cavity coupled to a single-mode radiation field under the big detuning, and discussed the influence of the initial state of the two atoms, the cavitity decay constant and the mean photon number on the entanglement degree. It have shown that if the two atoms are initially in the exicited or the ground states, they will be separate always;if the two atoms are initially in the coherent superposition of the excited and the ground states, the influence of cavity dissipation on the entanglement degree will vanish gradually with the time evolution, but the dipole-dipole interaction can enhance the entanglement degree.

Control of two-atom entanglement with two thermal fields in coupled cavities

Li-Tuo Shen, Zhen‐Biao Yang, Huai‐Zhi Wu +2 more

The dynamical evolution of a quantum system composed of two coupled cavities, each containing a two-level atom and a single-mode thermal field, is investigated under different conditions. The entanglement between the two atoms is controlled by the hopping strength and the detuning between the atomic transition and the cavities. We find that when the atomic transition is far off-resonant with both the eigenmodes of the coupled-cavity system, the maximally entangled state for the two atoms can be generated with the initial state in which one atom is in the ground state and the other is in the excited state. When both the two atoms are initially in the excited state, the entanglement exhibits periodical sudden birth and death. By choosing appropriate parameter values, the initial maximal entanglement of the two atoms can be frozen. The relation between the concurrence and the cooperative parameter is calculated.

Study on sudden death of the entanglement between an isolated atom and an atom inside a bimodal cavity

Liao Qing-Hong

The entanglement dynamics of two atoms initially in an entangled state system interacting with a bimodal field is investigated by making use of the concurrence and linear entropy. The effect of the initial entanglement degree of two atoms and the cavity field on the time evolution of concurrence is analyzed. The results show that the phenomenon of sudden death of the entanglement between two atoms occurs. The length of the death time interval is independent of the initial entanglement degree of two atoms. However, the death time depends on the initial entanglement degree of the cavity field. The atom and the field are entangled during all the evolution process.

The entanglement between two isolated atoms in the double mode–mode competition model

Qin Wu, Mao-Fa Fang, Cai Jian-Wu +1 more

Extending the double Jaynes–Cummings model to a more complicated case where the mode–mode competition is considered, we investigate the entanglement character of two isolated atoms by means of concurrence, and discuss the dependence of atom–atom entanglement on the different initial state and the relative coupling strength between the atom and the corresponding cavity field. The results show that the amplitude and the period of the atom–atom entanglement evolution can be controlled by the choice of initial state and relative coupling strength, respectively. We find that the phenomenon of entanglement sudden death (ESD) is sensitive to the initial conditions. The length of the time interval for zero entanglement depends not only on the initial degree of entanglement between two atoms but also on the relative coupling strength of atom–field interaction. The ESD effect can be weakened by enhancing the mode–mode competition between the three- and single-photon processes.
