Quantum Error Correction Code-Based Distributed Storage Protocol
Jincheng Zhang
Abstract
This paper proposes a novel distributed storage protocol leveraging quantum error correction (QEC) codes for reliable quantum information storage. The core principle involves encoding quantum information into the structure of a chosen QEC code. This allows for the detection and correction of errors introduced during storage, a critical challenge in quantum information processing. Unlike traditional applications of QEC primarily focused on quantum computation, this protocol extends the utility of QEC codes to a distributed storage environment. We outline the key components of the protocol, including code selection, encoding strategies, error detection and correction mechanisms, and discuss the potential performance gains achieved through this approach. The protocol's efficacy relies on the chosen code's ability to effectively mitigate noise and maintain the integrity of the stored quantum data. We present a conceptual framework, highlighting the mathematical underpinnings and outlining the steps required for implementation. This work provides a foundation for exploring practical applications of QEC in distributed quantum storage systems.
