An FPGA-Based Communication Scheme of Classical Channel in High-Speed QKD System

Qiong Li, Siyou Ma, Haokun Mao +1 more

The development of quantum computer technology has brought unprecedented threats to traditional cryptography methods. So far, the combination of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and one-time pad cryptography is the best solution to overcome the problem since it makes provable information-theoretic secure encryption possible. While the final key generation rate of most QKD systems cannot meet the needs of practical applications. One of the important reasons is the unsatisfied performance of communication scheme of classical channel in the QKD post processing system (QKDPPS). In this paper, an efficient FPGA-based communication scheme of classical channel in high speed QKD system is presented. Considering the following features of high transmission speed, multiple data types, large data quantity and strict data sequence of the communication over classical channel in a high-speed QKD system, the optical fiber is chosen as the communication medium and a high performance transmission protocol suitable for QKD is designed, including the packeting strategy based on data exchange rate and a reliability assurance scheme on the data link layer. The experimental results demonstrate that our communication scheme can provide stable communication service at 1.66 Gbps for a high-speed QKD system.

A security-enhanced encryption scheme on power system real-time data communication

Jing Zhou, Xi Chen

This paper provides an introduction and overview of power system real-time data encryption under network environment, describes the encryption requirements of power system real-time data communication, and briefly introduces a new type of a security-enhanced power system data encryption scheme. The QKD-based encryptions can delivering end-to-end network security via high-speed quantum key distribution, and against sophisticated eavesdropping attacks. QKD will be a most promising way of real-time data encryption in power system in the future.

Quantum-Resistant Cryptography with Malware Resilience for Secure Communication

S Athithian, S Raghavi, Anita Rose J T

The forthcoming emergence of quantum computing presents significant risks to conventional cryptographic frameworks, including RSA and ECC, which underpin secure communication infrastructures. In response to this challenge, the present study introduces an extensive framework that amalgamates quantum-resistant cryptographic methodologies with improved malware resilience strategies. By utilizing the lattice-based CRYSTALS-Kyber algorithm, this system guarantees strong post-quantum security while preserving computational efficiency. The framework facilitates a secure key exchange protocol that generates AES-256 keys for symmetric encryption and guarantees secured high-speed communications. Apart from that, malware resiliency features such as sandboxed environments and integrity verification strengthen the system against ever-evolving cyber threats. A proof-of-concept chat application demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed system in terms of depicting real-time secure communication under quantum-resistant encryption. This is an approach towards a scalable and future-proof solution to secure communication in a post-quantum era with both academic research implications and real-world applications. Further enhancements include sophisticated malware detection techniques and broader system optimization.
