Structure microscopy of an atom in high magneto-optical medium based on transmission and reflection spectra

Aizaz Khan, Syed Arif Ullah, Bakht Amin Bacha +2 more

Abstract A five level atomic medium driving by probe and standing waves control fields having dielectric function ϵr and permeability function µr is placed in a cavity of dielectric function ϵ1. The permittivity and permeability functions are directly related to the reflection and transmission spectra of the medium. The reflection and transmission spectra of the medium provide information about internal structure and properties of the atom. A central peak/depth is reported in the reflection and transmission spectra, which corresponds to the nuclear region of an atom. Around the central peak/depth regions, circular ring type patterns in the reflection and transmission spectra are reported. These ring type patterns exhibit atomic shells of the atoms. The theoretical investigation of internal structure microscopy of an atom have potential applications in nano-lithography and atom strapping. Our proposed model might be helpful for increasing the capability of optical microscopy and atoms imaging.

Soliton dynamics at an interface between a uniform medium and a nonlinear optical lattice

F. Kh. Abdullaev, R. M. Galimzyanov, Marijana Brtka +1 more

We study trapping and propagation of a matter-wave soliton through the interface between uniform medium and a nonlinear optical lattice. Different regimes for transmission of a broad and a narrow solitons are investigated. Reflections and transmissions of solitons are predicted as a function of the lattice phase. The existence of a threshold in the amplitude of the nonlinear optical lattice, separating the transmission and reflection regimes, is verified. The localized nonlinear surface state, corresponding to the soliton trapped by the interface, is found. Variational approach predictions are confirmed by numerical simulations for the original Gross-Pitaevskii equation with nonlinear periodic potentials.

Coherent manipulation of bright and dark solitons of reflection and transmission pulses through sodium atomic medium

Thabet Abdeljawad, Asma Al-Jaser, Bahaaeldin Abdalla +3 more

Abstract The coherent manipulation and control of bright and dark solitons through sodium atomic medium have been investigated in this manuscript. Dark soliton is reported for reflection and bright soliton is reported for transmission pulses with variation in position and driving field parameters through sodium atomic medium. Further the transmission pulse is periodic dark and bright solitonic behaviors and reflection pulse is periodic bright solitonic behavior with variation in the incident angle and Rabi frequency of the control field. Elliptical dark and bright solitons as well as breather types solitons are also investigated for reflection and transmission pulses. The dark soliton in reflection is due to slow light propagation and bright soliton is obtained due to fast light propagation of transmission through the medium. The modified results of the dark and bright solitons are useful for telecommunication and ultra-fast signal routing system.
