Envisioning responsible quantum software engineering and quantum artificial intelligence

Muneera Bano, Shaukat Ali, Didar Zowghi

Abstract The convergence of Quantum Computing (QC), Quantum Software Engineering (QSE), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents transformative opportunities across various domains. However, existing methodologies inadequately address the ethical, security, and governance challenges arising from this technological shift. This paper highlights the urgent need for interdisciplinary collaboration to embed ethical principles into the development of Quantum AI (QAI) and QSE, ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and equitable global access. Without proactive governance, there is a risk of deepening digital inequalities and consolidating power among a select few. We call on the software engineering community to actively shape a future where responsible QSE and QAI are foundational for ethical, accountable, and socially beneficial technological progress.

Quantized Displacement in Nanomechanical Oscillators at Millikelvin Temperatures

A. Gaidarzhy, Guiti Zolfagharkhani, Robert L. Badzey +1 more

Recent technological advances have enabled the creation of nanomechanical structures with resonance frequencies exceeding 2 GHz. The oscillators are nanomachined single‐crystal structures of silicon, designed to provide two distinct sets of coupled elements with very low and very high frequencies. At higher temperatures — in the so‐called classical regime, the response to an applied driving force is continuous. At millikelvin temperatures these nanomechanical oscillators enter the quantum regime of mechanical motion with a manifestly discrete response to the applied drive. The observed discrete response most likely results from the onset of the quantum regime in these macroscopic nanomechanical oscillators. These new experiments offer exciting prospects for the studies of quantum measurement and quantum computation, involving macroscopic quantum mechanical oscillators.

Quantum Teleportation Using Artificial Wormhole: A Mini Review

Piyush Tailor, Harshita Singh, Ruby Priya

Teleportation is a new age budding technology that is both ground-breaking and advanced. Through teleportation, it aims to transmit information across channels without taking the help of any medium to facilitate the process. Quantum mechanics and the principle of superposition are the main elements responsible for this procedure. Through the aid of such principles, mankind moved towards the technology of quantum teleportation wherein making the use of an entity called qubits aims to achieve the fastest means of information transmission. The presented article displays a series of rigorous studies on the subject. The main purpose of this study lies in presenting people with a clear and scientific temperament-aided study regarding the pre-conceived hypothetical nature of the subject.
