Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel quantum secret image-sharing scheme which constructs m quantum secret images into m +1 quantum share images. A chaotic image generated by the logistic map is utilized to assist in the construction of quantum share images first. The chaotic image and secret images are expressed as quantum image representation by using the novel enhanced quantum representation. To enhance the confidentiality, quantum secret images are scrambled into disordered images through the Arnold transform. Then the quantum share images are constructed by performing a series of quantum swap operations and quantum controlled-NOT operations. Because all quantum operations are invertible, the original quantum secret images can be reconstructed by performing a series of inverse operations. Theoretical analysis and numerical simulation proved both the security and low computational complexity of the scheme, which has outperformed its classical counterparts. It also provides quantum circuits for sharing and recovery processes.

Quantum Image Encryption Using Intra and Inter Bit Permutation Based on Logistic Map

Xingbin Liu, Di Xiao, Yanping Xiang

In this paper, a quantum image encryption scheme is proposed by using the inter–intra bit-level permutation strategy. The image to be encrypted is first represented by a novel enhanced quantum representation model, and then, the intra and inter permutation operations are successively performed on bit planes. The intra bit permutation is achieved by sorting chaotic sequence, and the inter bit permutation is accomplished with qubit XOR operations between the two selected bit planes. The ciphertext image is finally obtained through a chaotic diffusion procedure implemented with a quantum image XOR operation. The XOR operation is realized by controlled- NOT gates, which is controlled by a chaotic sequence generated with a logistic map. The parameters of the logistic map are sensitive, which makes the key space large enough to resist brute-force attack. The proposed scheme not only modifies the pixel positions and gray values but also makes the bit distribution more uniform. The quantum circuits for the proposed encryption algorithm are devised. The simulation results and theoretical analysis show that the proposed method is more efficient than its classical counterpart, and its security is verified by the statistical analysis, keys sensitivity, and key space analysis.

A quantum steganography scheme using quantum wavelet transforms

Chao Gao, Ri‐Gui Zhou, Xin Li

Quantum steganography is a technology which can hide information effectively for achieving copyright protection. In this paper, a quantum steganography scheme using quantum wavelet transform and the novel enhanced quantum representation for quantum image is proposed, and this scheme can embed the secret text of size [Formula: see text] into a [Formula: see text] gray-scale carrier image. In the scrambling operation, the text is scrambled by the scrambling circuit including bit-reverse, quantum equal and CNOT gate to improve its security. Before embedding, the carrier image is first transformed by 1-level quantum Haar wavelet transform, and then its low-frequency part is divided into blocks. The simulation results suggest that the proposed scheme has good performance in visual quality and robustness. Finally, through the analysis of circuit complexity, the scheme has low complexity O(n).

A quantum image encryption method for dual chaotic systems based on quantum logistic mapping

Yumin Dong, Chenhao Yin, Chen Xu +1 more

Abstract On the basis of using quantum NEQR (novel enhanced quantum representation of digital image) to display images, a dual chaos system based on quantum logistic mapping is proposed to encrypt quantum images to ensure the security of quantum image transmission. The encryption algorithm is based on quantum logistic mapping and Chen chaos system to generate chaotic sequences, and uses quantum rotation gate operations to rotate and transform each pixel of the quantum image to achieve the effect of image encryption. Traditional quantum image encryption usually uses classical randomly generated sequences to construct the encryption angle of the quantum rotating door. This method combines the randomness of measured quantum with the chaotic system to obtain a truly random sequence. Using this random sequence can better Keep images confidential. Experimental results show that this method has high security and sensitivity to keys. In the sensitivity analysis of the results of the simulation experiment, its NPCR (Number of Pixels Change Rate) values floated around 99.60%. In the field of image encryption, the reliability of image encryption is greatly enhanced.

Quantum image encryption algorithm based on four-dimensional chaos

Xiaodong Liu, Qian-Hua Chen, Run-Sheng Zhao +4 more

Background: Quantum image processing is rapidly developing in the field of quantum computing, and it can be successfully implemented on the Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) device. Quantum image encryption holds a pivotal position in this domain. However, the encryption process often encounters security vulnerabilities and entails complex computational complexities, thereby consuming substantial quantum resources. To address this, the present study proposes a quantum image encryption algorithm based on four-dimensional chaos. Methods: The classical image is first encoded into quantum information using the Generalized Quantum Image Representation (GQIR) method. Subsequently, the trajectory of the four-dimensional chaotic system is randomized, and multi-dimensional chaotic keys are generated to initially encrypt the pixel values of the image. Then, the Arnold transformation is applied to randomly encrypt the pixel positions, resulting in the encrypted image. During the decryption process, the inverse process of encryption is employed to restore the original image. Results: We simulated this process in the Python environment, and the information entropy analysis experiment showed that the information entropy of the three encrypted images reached above 7.999, so the system has good encryption. At the same time, the correlation of the pixel distribution after the encryption algorithm is weak, which proves that the control parameters of the chaotic system can effectively reduce the correlation between pixels in the image. In the final key space analysis, the key space issued by our encryption can reach $10 140 \gg 2 128 $. Conclusion: Our method is resistant to destructive attacks and can produce scrambled images with higher encryption and usability. This algorithm solves the problems of general encryption algorithms such as periodicity, small key space, and vulnerability to statistical analysis, and proposes a reliable and effective encryption scheme. By making full use of the characteristics of Arnold transformation permutation, ergodicity and the randomness of the four-dimensional chaotic system, the encryption algorithm uses the larger key space provided by the four-dimensional Lorenz system.

A quantum image encryption scheme based on quantum Arnold transform and hyper 5D chaotic system

Lishi Liu, Chenhao Yin, Yumin Dong

In the wake of the information security era, ensuring the privacy, accuracy, and reliability of images has become imperative. In this paper, a quantum image encryption method combining quantum Arnold transform and a hyper 5D chaotic system is devised. Furthermore, first, a nonlinear color quantization model (NCQI) is used to convert digital images in standard RGB format into quantum color images. Then, based on the size of the converted quantum color image, the corresponding encryption key is generated using the hyper 5D chaotic system. In the encryption stage, we use the key to encrypt the converted quantum color image. This process entails two principal steps: First, we use quantum Arnold transform to scramble the pixel positions in the image and, subsequently, diffuse the pixel values through a carefully designed cyclic shift strategy to achieve the preliminary encryption of the image. To further strengthen the encryption security, we use a quantum rotation gate to perform quantum rotation transformation on the color channel of each pixel point in the encrypted image separately. These well-designed encryption processes, in succession, significantly enhance the security of the image. This paper provides the corresponding quantum circuit design and validates both the efficacy and security of the quantum image encryption scheme through simulation experimental results.

Quantum medical images encryption based on 3D logistic-chaotic map and NEQR representation

Yasameen Khalid, Tayseer Salman, Ahmed Youns

Medical image security is crucial for patient confidentiality because it is exposed to many attacks, such as editing photos or moving the affected part to another place, and others. Encryption is an efficient technique to protect the confidentiality of images, but traditional encryption suffers from brute-force attacks. This research proposes an encryption method depending on quantum concepts to resist brute-force attacks using a 3D logistic map to generate keys; the keys were scrambled to increase the randomness, and using the best image scrambling scheme generated by a genetic algorithm as a first stage to increase the strength of the encryption algorithm. The quantum scrambled image is then encrypted by using XOR process depending on a 3D logistic map key generator. The proposed encrypting and decrypting algorithm utilize a NEQR quantum image representation. Numerical and simulation analyses using MATLAB demonstrate that the suggested encryption algorithm is robust, realizable, and highly efficient in comparison to its classical equivalent.
