Abstract

Results of comprehensive theoretical and experimental studies on creation of a Quantum Random Number Generator prototype based on the implementation of double radio optical resonance in the vapour of the rubidium isotope are presented. A method is developed for the analytical and numerical solution of the coupled-mode Quantum Random Number Generator equation, which describes the mode of interaction of quantum generators in the process of measuring their parameters. A feature of the proposed method is the possibility of studying quantum phase noise and the width of the quantum discriminators line on alkali metal vapours in the presence of an interaction error.

Tetiana Grinenko, Олексій Нарєжній, І.Д. Горбенко

Methods for spectral density noise power measurement of the quantum radio-optical system of random number generator is proposed. Experimental research were held using a testing prototype of the quantum random number generator, included assembly and tuning of optical section and system of magnetic coil as well as quantum discriminator microwave part and waveguide tuning. The obtained results are the basis for creation of an experimental sample of the quantum random number generator with acceptable cryptographic characteristics for the keystream mode.

Method of Generating Random Numbers by the Group of Quantum Generators of Random Numbers in the Synchronization Mode

Олексій Нарєжній, Daniel Jancarczyk, І.Д. Горбенко +2 more

The object of research is the process of mutual synchronization of quantum random number generators (QRNG) in the group standard of quantum noise. A method for generating random numbers is proposed, which relates to the methods of group standardization of the QRNG, and is used to increase the speed and reliability of the random number formation The paper substantiates the mathematical model of quantum phase noise of the QRNG group, which are in a mutual synchronization mode. The method is based on solving the problem of identifying parameters of a group of the same type to the QRNG in the mutual synchronization mode. The solution to this problem requires the availability of reliable and operational data when calculating the Kalman filter parameters necessary for estimating the synchronization parameters of quantum measures of phase noise. The results of experimental studies presented in the article are an example of building a QRNG with a given level of reliability and speed. A feature of the proposed QRNG quantum phase noise measurement system is the synchronization of processing time using GPS signals (Ll C/A).

The method of constructing the randomness extractor of a quantum random number generator on the basis of multimodulo transformation

Tetiana Grinenko, Олексій Нарєжній

In general form the problem of synthesis and analysis of an extractor algorithm with an alphabet base of more than two based on multimodulo transformation for a prospective quantum random number generator (QRNG) is formulated and solved. This work was carried out as part of a comprehensive theoretical and experimental research to create a prototype QRNG based on the implementation of the method of double radio-resonance in alkali metal vapors.

Experimental study of a quantum random-number generator based on two independent lasers

Shi‐Hai Sun, Feihu Xu

A quantum random-number generator (QRNG) can produce true randomness by utilizing the inherent probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics. Recently, the spontaneous-emission quantum phase noise of the laser has been widely deployed for quantum random-number generation, due to its high rate, its low cost, and the feasibility of chip-scale integration. Here, we perform a comprehensive experimental study of a phase-noise-based QRNG with two independent lasers, each of which operates in either continuous-wave (CW) or pulsed mode. We implement the QRNG by operating the two lasers in three configurations, namely, CW + CW, CW + pulsed, and pulsed + pulsed, and demonstrate their trade-offs, strengths, and weaknesses.
