Abstract

Methods for spectral density noise power measurement of the quantum radio-optical system of random number generator is proposed. Experimental research were held using a testing prototype of the quantum random number generator, included assembly and tuning of optical section and system of magnetic coil as well as quantum discriminator microwave part and waveguide tuning. The obtained results are the basis for creation of an experimental sample of the quantum random number generator with acceptable cryptographic characteristics for the keystream mode.

METHOD FOR MEASURING QUANTUM PHASE NOISE AND LINE WIDTH OF WORKING TRANSITION OF RADIO- OPTICAL SYSTEM OF RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR

Олексій Нарєжній, Валерий Семенец, Tetiana Grinenko

Results of comprehensive theoretical and experimental studies on creation of a Quantum Random Number Generator prototype based on the implementation of double radio optical resonance in the vapour of the rubidium isotope are presented. A method is developed for the analytical and numerical solution of the coupled-mode Quantum Random Number Generator equation, which describes the mode of interaction of quantum generators in the process of measuring their parameters. A feature of the proposed method is the possibility of studying quantum phase noise and the width of the quantum discriminators line on alkali metal vapours in the presence of an interaction error.

Encryption key generator based on passive optical elements

M. Życzkowski, Grzegorz Kwaśnik, M. Szustakowski +3 more

This article presents the concept of the encryption key generator on the basis of passive fiber optic components. Quantum random number generators (QRNG) are used to obtain the random number sequences used to securely encode information transmitted in the fiber track. The authors propose a different approach than the currently used random number generators based on beam splitting element, namely the construction of this type of system based on passive fiber optic components with the use of single-photon generation. The article presents the analysis of the generation of random number sequences as well as independently developed simulator generation of random sequences. It also contains a description of selected items and the reasons for selection as well as patterns of accomplished setup made in the Security Systems Group in Institute of Optoelectronics. The methodology of measuring generation randomness of quantum random number generator is described here, also certified system made by ID Quantique and propretiary solution is compared and results of measurements of this comparison are presented. The work also includes tests of the certified system Quantis by IDQ company and the system made by a team in terms of randomness generated within. These tests are important from the point of view of the certification of a generator system and assign it to the appropriate safety class. The measurement results are contained in the article.

Method of Generating Random Numbers by the Group of Quantum Generators of Random Numbers in the Synchronization Mode

Олексій Нарєжній, Daniel Jancarczyk, І.Д. Горбенко +2 more

The object of research is the process of mutual synchronization of quantum random number generators (QRNG) in the group standard of quantum noise. A method for generating random numbers is proposed, which relates to the methods of group standardization of the QRNG, and is used to increase the speed and reliability of the random number formation The paper substantiates the mathematical model of quantum phase noise of the QRNG group, which are in a mutual synchronization mode. The method is based on solving the problem of identifying parameters of a group of the same type to the QRNG in the mutual synchronization mode. The solution to this problem requires the availability of reliable and operational data when calculating the Kalman filter parameters necessary for estimating the synchronization parameters of quantum measures of phase noise. The results of experimental studies presented in the article are an example of building a QRNG with a given level of reliability and speed. A feature of the proposed QRNG quantum phase noise measurement system is the synchronization of processing time using GPS signals (Ll C/A).

HIGH SPEED QUANTUM-RANDOM-NUMBER GENERATION VIA MEASUREMENT ON PHASE NOISE OF LASER

YANYANG ZHU, Yuan Lü, Jun Ping Zhu +1 more

The high speed quantum-random-number generation based on measuring the quantum phase noise of DFB diode laser is investigated experimentally in this paper. The quantum randomness of the generated random string is physically guaranteed by measuring the random phase fluctuation of laser. The generated random string can pass all the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) tests and the random number generation rate is up to 1.25 Gbps.
