Abstract

Abstract In this paper [Commun. Theor. Phys. 53 (2010) 648], Zhan et al. proposed a quantum dialogue protocol by using non-symmetric quantum channel. We study the security of the protocol and find that it has the drawback of information leakage. That is, Zhan et al.ʼs protocol is proved to be insecure by us.

Information leakage in quantum dialogue by using the two-qutrit entangled states

Gan Gao

In this paper [Mod. Phys. Lett. B23 (2009) 2993], Zhang and Zhan proposed a quantum dialogue protocol by using the two-qutrit entangled states. We study the security of the protocol and find that it is not secure. The eavesdropper can obtain half of secret messages without performing any attack. In other words, their quantum dialogue protocol has the drawback of information leakage.

Quantum secure dialogue based on single photons and controlled-not operations

Guo-Fang Shi, Xiu-Lao Tian

A quantum dialogue protocol is proposed and proved to be secure. In our scheme, single photons are used as a quantum channel, the security of our scheme is guaranteed by BB84 QKD and the fact that controlled-not operation ensures the control qubit is unchanged and the target qubit flips only if the control qubit is . By using controlled-not operations, two legitimate communicators can share a private initial state and realize quantum dialogue securely. Compared with previous quantum dialogue protocols, the good merit of this work is that the insecurity, i.e. ‘information leakage’ is eliminated. Comparing this dialogue protocol with the recent work in another paper [Shi, G.F.; Xi, X.Q.; Hu, M.L.; Yue, R.H. Opt. Commun. 2010, 283, 1984] where two adjacent single photons must be of the same quantum state, this scheme is experimentally simple.

Authenticated Quantum Dialogue Without Information Leakage

He Wang, Yuqing Zhang, Gaofei Wu +1 more

A lot of authenticated quantum dialogue protocols are springing up. Many of them have the problem of information leakage, or suffer from Man-In-The-Middle attack. Some protocols can guarantee security, but have relatively low efficiency. Based on the above situation, we present a novel authenticated quantum dialogue protocol by using Bell states and entanglement swapping. In this protocol, we adopt Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs to detect eavesdropping and transmit secret messages. We employ polarized photons to achieve authentication of users' identity information. Compared with other quantum dialogue schemes with authentication, our protocol has several advantages. The transmitted particles are passed once and do not carry any secret messages. The proposed protocol can overcome the drawback of information leakage and resist against typical attacks. The efficiency is acceptable.

Insecurity of Jiang et al.’s quantum cryptography protocol

Gan Gao, Yue Wang, Xueying Cui +1 more

Recently, Jiang et al. proposed a quantum cryptography protocol [Mod. Phys. Lett. B 32 (2018) 1850125] which can implement the equal exchange of secret information between the two parties with the help of semi-trusted third party. Here, it will be shown that the protocol is insecure and has the drawback of information leakage.

Quantum Dialogue by Using Non-Symmetric Quantum Channel

You-Bang Zhan, Ling-Ling Zhang, Wang Yu-wu +1 more

A protocol for quantum dialogue is proposed to exchange directly the communicator's secret messages by using a three-dimensional Bell state and a two-dimensional Bell state as quantum channel with quantum superdence coding, local collective unitary operations, and entanglement swapping. In this protocol, during the process of transmission of particles, the transmitted particles do not carry any secret messages and are transmitted only one time. The protocol has higher source capacity than protocols using symmetric two-dimensional states. The security is ensured by the unitary operations randomly performed on all checking groups before the particle sequence is transmitted and the application of entanglement swapping.

An Efficient Protocol for Quantum Secure Dialogue With Authentication by Using Single Photons

Faiegh Sheikhehi, Mosayeb Naseri

An efficient practical feasible protocol for quantum secure dialogue by using single photons is proposed. Comparing with the previous protocols, in the proposed protocol, no classical message has to exchanged during the decoding of the secret messages, so the present scheme is not only overcome the drawback “information leakage”, it possesses the characters of security and maximum efficiency. The other highlight of our protocol is that, in this method one party is able to first read the message received from the other party before sending another message back in reply.
