Quantum correlations in excited coherent W-type state

Abstract

The tripartite W-state plays an important role in the quantum information science, due to its non vanishing bipartite correlations even after partially tracing one of the modes. The continuous variable extension of the W state is constructed using Glauber coherent states and excited using bosonic creation operators. The bipartite entanglement is measured through concurrence and tangle is also evaluated. The non classicality introduced in the three modes is measured in terms of quadrature squeezing and higher order squeezing. The influence of photon addition process on the entanglement and squeezing is derived, and from the result it is evident that the photon addition enhances the operational aspects of quantum correlation.

Nonclassical features of trimodal excited coherent Greenberger - Horne - Zeilinger(GHZ) - type state

J. Merlin, A. Basherrudin Mahmud Ahmed, Sh. Mohammed

We examine the influence of photon excitation on each mode of the Glauber coherent GHZ type tripartite state. Concurrence is adopted as entanglement measure between bipartite entangled state. The pairwise concurrence is calculated and used as a quantifier of intermodal entanglement. The entanglement distribution among three modes is investigated using tangle as a measure and the residual entanglement is also calculated. The effect of the photon addition process on the quadrature squeezing is investigated. The higher order squeezing capacity of the photon addition process is also shown.

Enhanced multipartite quantum correlation by non-Gaussian operations

Ho-Joon Kim, Jaewan Kim, Hyunchul Nha

We study how conditional photon operations can affect multipartite quantum correlations, specifically nonlocality and entanglement, of the continuous-variable Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states. We find that the violation of the Mermin-Klyshko inequality revealing the multipartite nonlocality can be made stronger with photon subtraction applied on each mode of the original GHZ states, particularly in a weak squeezing regime. Photon addition applied on local modes also turns out to enhance the degree of multipartite nonlocality in a broad range of parameters. We further investigate the effects of the photon operations on the degree of multipartite entanglement by looking into the Gaussian tangle, the fidelity of teleportation network, and the quadrature correlations. We find that photon subtraction applied on two modes enhances those entanglement characteristics in a practical squeezing regime while there is no improvement made by photon addition.

Nonclassicality of Photon Added Bipartite Glauber Lachs State

Sathiyabama Ramanujam, A. Basherrudin Mahmud Ahmed

Abstract Mixture of coherent state with thermal noise is known as the Glauber Lachs state, which is taken into consideration. Nonlocal photon addition is imposed on the two mode Glauber Lachs state by the application of bosonic creation operators. This nonlocal photon addition induces nonclassicality, revealed in the single mode and two mode squeezing properties. The ratio of the coherent noise to thermal noise is the key factor in observing the nonclassical features. The tolerance limit of the noise for the nonclassicality is discussed in single mode squeezing and two mode squeezing quadrature operators. The results show that the squeezing properties are less pronounced even for the low level of thermal noise.

Single-mode nonlinear excited entangled coherent states and their nonclassical properties

Amir Karimi, Mohammad Kazem Tavassoly

In this paper, after a brief review of the single-mode excited entangled coherent states, two new classes of continuous-variable entangled pure states, namely, single-mode nonlinear excited entangled coherent states, have been produced by using the f -deformed creation operator instead of . In order to establish the nonclassicality of the states, some of the physical properties of the corresponding entangled states, such as entanglement degree, photon statistics, second-order correlation function and quadrature squeezing have been studied in detail by choosing a particular f -deformation function. In addition, the influence of photon excitations on the properties of our introduced states has been analyzed and the results compared with those of a single-mode excited entangled coherent state. In continuation, a theoretical scheme for their generation based on the interaction of a two-level atom with a quantized cavity field has been proposed.

Quantum Discord in Photon-Added Glauber Coherent States of GHZ-Type

Mohammed Daoud A, W. Kaydi, Hanane El Hadfi

We investigate the influence of photon excitations on quantum correlations in tripartite Glauber coherent states of Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger type (GHZ-type). The pairwise correlations are measured by means of the entropy-based quantum discord. We also analyze the monogamy property of quantum discord in this class of tripartite states in terms of the strength of Glauber coherent states and the photon excitation order.

Quantum correlations in and beyond quantum entanglement in bipartite continuous variable systems

Richard Tatham

This thesis explores the role of non-classical correlations in bipartite continuous variable quantum systems, and the approach taken is three-fold. We show that given two initially entangled atomic ensembles, it is possible to probabilistically increase the entanglement between them using a beamsplitter-like interaction formed from two quantum non-demolition (QND) interactions with auxiliary polarised light modes. We then develop an elegant method to calculate density matrix elements of non-Gaussian bipartite quantum states and use this to show that the entanglement in a two mode squeezed vacuum can be distilled using QND interactions and non-Gaussian elements. \n Secondly, we introduce a potential new measure of quantum entanglement in bipartite Gaussian states. This measure has an operational meaning in quantum cryptography and provides an upper bound on the amount of a secret key that can be distilled from a Gaussian probability distribution shared by two conspirators, Alice and Bob, given the presence of an eavesdropper, Eve. \n Finally, we go beyond the realm of quantum entanglement to explore other non-classical correlations in continuous variable systems. We provide solutions for a number of these measures on two mode Gaussian states and introduce the Gaussian Ameliorated Measurement Induced Disturbance (GAMID). The interplay between these different measures and quantum entanglement is examined. We then attempt to take small steps into the non-Gaussian regime by computing these non-classicality measures on the three-parameter continuous variable Werner states.
