Abstract

In this paper, nonclassical effects of quantum lightfield interacting with Bose- Einstien condensate (BEC) are investigated when the quantum lightfield is initially in a coherentstate and the atomic field of the BEC is initially in a number state. It is shown that the quantum light field exhibits sub- Poinssonian photon statistics in the time evolution butthere is no second- order squeezing of the quadrture components of the light field in the wholedynamic evolution.Itisfound thatundersuitable conditions,thehight- ordersqueezing of the lightfield can occur.Concretely ,the fourth order squeezing of the lightfield iis studied in detail.

Quantum Statistical Behaviors of Interaction of an Atomic Bose–Einstein Condensate with Laser

Zhao-Xian Yu, Jiao Zhi-Yong

We have investigated quantum statistical behaviors of photons and atoms in interaction of an atomic Bose–Einstein condensate with quantized laser field. When the quantized laser field is initially prepared in a superposition state which exhibits holes in its photon-number distribution, while the atomic field is initially in a Fock state, it is found that there is energy exchange between photons and atoms. For the input and output states, the photons and atoms may exhibit the sub-Poissonian distribution. The input and output laser fields may exhibit quadrature squeezing, but for the atomic field, only the output state exhibits quadrature squeezing. It is shown that there exists the violation of the Cauchy–Schwartz inequality, which means that the correlation between photons and atoms is nonclassical.

Dynamics of anM-level atom interacting with cavity fields. III. Nonclassical behavior of the initially squeezed field

Fuli Li, Xiao-shen Li, D. L. Lin +1 more

The interaction of an M-level atom with a single mode of a cavity field initially in a squeezed state is investigated in this paper. The time evolution of nonclassical characteristics of the field, such as the field squeezing, antibunching, and sub-Poisson distribution, is computed and discussed in detail. It is found that the initial coherent excitation strength has crucial influence on how such nonclassical behavior can be maintained in the propagation of squeezed light.

Properties of Field in the Interaction Between V-type Three Level Atoms and Nonclassical Light

Zhifang Feng, Xiuping Li

When neglecting and considering the interaction between atoms, the quadrature squeezing and the photon-number squeezing of Bose-Einstein Condensate of V-type three level atoms interacting with two-mode squeezed light field are studied. The results show that the quadrature squeezing dependent on squeezing parameter and the photon-number squeezing is closely correlated to squeezing parameter and light field intensity. It is found that the two kinds of squeezing can be obtained at some conditions.and the interaction between atoms in BEC changes the period of fluctuation of light field and the amplitude of fluctuation of quadrature component. However, such atom-atom interaction does not affect the amplitude of fluctuation of photon-number squeezing.

Quantum Statistical Properties of Photons and Atoms in Interaction of an Atomic Bose–Einstein Condensate with Lasers

Kuang Le-Man

In this paper, we study quantum statistical properties of atoms and photons in interaction of -atomic Bose–Einstein condensate in the ground-state hyperfine sublevels with laser fields. We investigate not only quantum conversions between atoms in the condensate and photons in the quantized laser field, but also transfer of nonclassical characteristics of atoms and photons between input states and output states when the atom field is initially in a number state and the quantized laser field is in the even coherent state and the odd coherent state, respectively. We find various conditions to realize these quantum conversions. We also study atom-photon quantum correlations and their input-output conversions. It is indicated that there are atom-field nonclassical correlations.

Nonclassical properties and entanglement generation in an optical cavity containing two atomic Bose–Einstein condensates

Ren-Fei Zheng, Qi-Hui Jiang, Lu Zhou +1 more

We consider the model of a weakly driven optical cavity containing two clouds of atomic Bose–Einstein condensates (BECs). Nonclassical photon correlations and correlations between the two atomic BECs are investigated under different cavity conditions including strong atom-field coupling and bad cavity regime. We show that the nonlinear interatom collisional interactions in BEC leads to a significant loss of cavity light coherence. Various types of nonclassical properties are investigated such as sub-Poissonian statistics, antibunching and entanglement. We show that the entanglement can be generated between BECs and the cavity field. The time evolution of entanglement is also numerically studied.
