Abstract

The process of a Λ-type three-level atom interacting with the field in an ideal cavity was investigated.By solving the eigen equation, the cavity field spectrum expression of the system was given out. Some numerical results were presented. When the initial field is in a vacuum state,two-peak structure appears for the two degenerate lower levels, and six- or four-peak structure appears for the two non-degenerate ones. The probability amplitudes and relative phase play a decisive role in the spectrum structure when the atom is in a coherent superposition of the two lower levels initially.

Emission spectrum of a Λ-type three-level atom with two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

By means of time-evolution operator,we have studied the emission spectrum of a Λ-type three-level atom interacted resonantly with two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields in the paper. The physical spectrum expression of radiation emitted by the atom was given. The results indicated that whether two lower levels are degeneracy or not,the emission spectra of Λ-type three-level atom occur Rabi splitting when average photon number of two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields were very small. And intensity increased with degree of two-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields when two lower levels were degeneracy.Intensity increase with degree of one-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields and that intensity decreased with degree of another one-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields when two lower levels were degeneracy. The structure of the resonant emission spectra of the atomic system had ten peaks generally.

Cavity field spectrum of a cascade three-level atom interacting with a single-mode field

Gao Yun-feng, Jian Feng, Ji‐Suo Wang +1 more

The cavity field spectrum of a cascade three-level atom interacting with a single-mode field in an ideal cavity is investigated. When the atom is in the upper level and the field is vacuum initially, the number of Rabi peaks changes according to 2→6→4→2→4 with the increase of R=g2/g1,and all Rabi peaks disappear for R1 Three-peak,five-peak or seven-peak structure appear for weak initial fields, and single resonance peak appears for a st rong field. When the atom is in the middle level initially, the cavity field spectrum is of a two-peak structure with R=1 as the spectrum of Jaynes-Cummings model.

Cavity Field Spectra of a Cascade Three-Level Atom Interacting with a Single-Mode Field with Kerr-Like Medium

Gao Yun-feng, Jian Feng, Zhang Gui-Ming

The cavity field spectrum of a cascade three-level atom interacting with single-mode field with Kerr-like medium in the cavity is investigated. The numerical results for the initial field in pure number state, coherent state and squeezed vacuum state are calculated, respectively. It is found that the Kerr-like medium affects the spectral structure even though the initial field is in vacuum when the atom is in upper level. In the case of strong input field, the number state spectrum shows two peaks with different heights; and the superposition state spectrum shows a multi-peak structure with an equal distance of two neighboring peaks. The spectral ``central frequency" shifts away from the resonant frequency with the increasing of average photon number.

Emission spectra of a Λ-type quantum-beat three-level atom

M. M. Ashraf

The emission spectra of a \ensuremath{\Lambda}-type quantum-beat three-level atomic system in a cavity is investigated. Our results suggest that the atom cannot interact with a single-mode squeezed vacuum. A variety of field inputs exhibit nonclassical effects, including the vacuum Rabi splitting and quantum beats, only for low field intensities. In the case of a coherent field input, sidebands appear whose widths are governed by the input field statistics. Off-resonant spectra exhibit transitions from predominantly spontaneous to predominantly stimulated emission.

Cavity Field Spectra for the Interaction System of a Ξ-type Three-level Atom with Single-model Field

Shao Zhang

The cavity spectra for the interaction system of a Ξtype threelevel atom with singlemodel field were investigated when the field is initially in a pure number state,a conherent state and a squeezed vacuum state. It is shown that there appear symmetric eight peaks in the cavity spectra, whose structure depends strongly on the photon number distribution and intensity of initial light field.

Influence of AC-Stark shift on cavity field spectra in the non-degenerate Raman process

The cavity field spectrum of an atom interacting with two-mode field through non-degenerate Raman coupling with the presence of AC-Stark shift in an ideal cavity is investigated. The results for the atom in the low-level state and the initial fields in pure number states, coherent states, and squeezed vacuum states are calculated. When the initial fields are in number states, the three-peak structure of each model cavity field spectra appear for weak fields, and two-peak or single-peak structure appear for strong fields. When both field modes are in a superposition of number states initially, the cavity field spectra are generally of two-peak structure. With the increase of γ=g2/g1,one peak rises and the other peak reduces.
