Emission spectra of a Λ-type quantum-beat three-level atom

Abstract

The emission spectra of a \ensuremath{\Lambda}-type quantum-beat three-level atomic system in a cavity is investigated. Our results suggest that the atom cannot interact with a single-mode squeezed vacuum. A variety of field inputs exhibit nonclassical effects, including the vacuum Rabi splitting and quantum beats, only for low field intensities. In the case of a coherent field input, sidebands appear whose widths are governed by the input field statistics. Off-resonant spectra exhibit transitions from predominantly spontaneous to predominantly stimulated emission.

Atomic Emission and Cavity Field Spectra in the Λ-type Three-level Jaynes-Cummings Model with Intensity-dependent Coupling

Qingchun Zhou

The eigenfunction method is adopted to investigate atomic emission and cavity field spectra in the system containing a Λ-type three-level atom resonantly' interacting with a single-mode field. The atom is assumed initially in the upper atomic state and intensity-dependent coupling is taken into account. It is found that the splitting between the lower levels has a great influence on the spectral structure for both the emission spectrum and the cavity field spectrum.Combination of spectral lines does not take place with increasing intensity of the initial field and the cavity spectrum is not sensitive to the statistics of the initial field.

Emission spectrum of a Λ-type three-level atom with two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

By means of time-evolution operator,we have studied the emission spectrum of a Λ-type three-level atom interacted resonantly with two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields in the paper. The physical spectrum expression of radiation emitted by the atom was given. The results indicated that whether two lower levels are degeneracy or not,the emission spectra of Λ-type three-level atom occur Rabi splitting when average photon number of two-mode odd-even entangled coherent states cavity fields were very small. And intensity increased with degree of two-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields when two lower levels were degeneracy.Intensity increase with degree of one-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields and that intensity decreased with degree of another one-mode entangled coherent states cavity fields when two lower levels were degeneracy. The structure of the resonant emission spectra of the atomic system had ten peaks generally.

Atomic emission spectra and field non-classical properties

Tang Pei, Guo Hong

This paper studies the interaction of a Λ-type three-level atom with a single mode field. It discusses the emission spectrum characteristics of the Λ-type three-level atom driven by the photon-added coherent field. By means of the second-order degree of coherence, it shows some nonclassical properties of the cavity field, such as sub-Poissonian photon-number distribution and the two-time intensity–intensity correlation which violates the Cauchy–Schwarz inequality.

Treatment of the emission and absorption spectra for a Λ-type three-level atom driven by a single-mode field with nonlinearities

A.‐S. F. Obada, A. A. Eied, G. M. Abd Al-Kader

The treatment of a Λ-type three-level atom interacting with a single mode field in a cavity, explicitly taking the existence of forms of nonlinearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom-field coupling into account. Analytical expressions of the emission and absorption spectra are presented using the dressed states of the system. The characteristics of the emission and absorption spectra for binomial state and squeezedcoherent state inputs are exhibited. The effects of the mean number of photons, the detuning, and the nonlinearities on the spectra are investigated. It is shown that the features of the fluorescence and absorption spectra are influenced significantly by the kinds of nonlinearities.

An analytical expression of the emission and absorption spectra, for a Λ-type three-level cavity-bound atom interacting with a two-mode cavity field, is given using the dressed states of the system. We take explicitly into account the existence of forms of nonlinearities of both the field and the intensity-dependent atom–field coupling. The characteristics of the emission and absorption spectra for binomial and squeezed coherent states of the modes are exhibited. The effects of the mean number of photons, detuning and the nonlinearity forms on the spectra are analysed.

By means of time-evolution operator, the emission spectrum of a Λ-type three-level atom interacting resonantly with two-mode thermal radiation cavity fields was studied. The physical spectrum expression of radiation emitted by the atom was given. The structure of the emission spectrum for a thermal input was discussed. The results indicate that whether two lower levels are degeneracy or not,Rabi splitting occurred in the emission spectra of Λ-type three-level atom when the average photon number of two-mode thermal radiation cavity fields is very small. And the structure of the resonant emission spectra of the atomic system has ten peaks generally.
