Abstract

The cavity field spectrum of a cascade three-level atom interacting with a single-mode field in an ideal cavity is investigated. When the atom is in the upper level and the field is vacuum initially, the number of Rabi peaks changes according to 2→6→4→2→4 with the increase of R=g2/g1,and all Rabi peaks disappear for R1 Three-peak,five-peak or seven-peak structure appear for weak initial fields, and single resonance peak appears for a st rong field. When the atom is in the middle level initially, the cavity field spectrum is of a two-peak structure with R=1 as the spectrum of Jaynes-Cummings model.

Cavity Field Spectra of a Cascade Three-Level Atom Interacting with a Single-Mode Field with Kerr-Like Medium

Gao Yun-feng, Jian Feng, Zhang Gui-Ming

The cavity field spectrum of a cascade three-level atom interacting with single-mode field with Kerr-like medium in the cavity is investigated. The numerical results for the initial field in pure number state, coherent state and squeezed vacuum state are calculated, respectively. It is found that the Kerr-like medium affects the spectral structure even though the initial field is in vacuum when the atom is in upper level. In the case of strong input field, the number state spectrum shows two peaks with different heights; and the superposition state spectrum shows a multi-peak structure with an equal distance of two neighboring peaks. The spectral ``central frequency" shifts away from the resonant frequency with the increasing of average photon number.

Cavity field spectrum of a pair of coupled atoms Javnes-Cummings model

Gao Yun-feng

The cavity field spectrum of a pair of coupled two-level atoms interacting with single mode field is studied. The results for the initial fields in pure number state, coherent state or squeezed vacuum state are presented and discussed. The effect of dipole-dipole coupling constant gαp on the cavity field spectrum is analyzed. It is found that four Rabi peaks appear for small gαp and three Rabi peaks for large gα when the field is vacuum initially. When the field is pure number state initially, the structure of the cavity field spectrum is five peaks for weak field and three peaks for strong field. When the fields are in a coherent state or squeezed vacuum state, a multi-peak structure appears generally. The peak-position and peak-height of the spectrum are both influenced by gα, but this influence is evident for weak field only.

Cavity Field Spectrum for System Consisting of Cascade Three-level Atom within Kerr-medium Filled Cavity

Qingchun Zhou

A full quantum theory is applied to the investigation of the cavity field spectrum of a system containing the cascade three-level atom, initially in the most excited state, interacting with the single mode of a Kerr-medium filled cavity. The vacuum Rabi splitting of the system is found affected by Kerr nonlinearity, contrary to the two-level atom case. For an initial Fock-state field, the Kerr effects are mainly reflected by the asymmetry of the spectrum and a change in the number of spectral peaks if the coupling between the field and the Kerr medium is weak. The effects are also reflected by receding away from the resonant frequency of the central resonant peak in the absence of the Kerr medium if the field-medium coupling is strong. For an initial thermal field, the cavity spectrum can be a continuous band or discrete lines depending on the strength of the Kerr effect.

Influence of AC-Stark shift on cavity field spectra in the non-degenerate Raman process

Gao Yun-feng, Feng Jian, (1)聊城大学光通信研究所,聊城 252059;中国科学院武汉物理与数学研究所波谱与原子分子物理国家重点实验室,武汉 430071; (2)聊城大学教育技术系,聊城 252059

The cavity field spectrum of an atom interacting with two-mode field through non-degenerate Raman coupling with the presence of AC-Stark shift in an ideal cavity is investigated. The results for the atom in the low-level state and the initial fields in pure number states, coherent states, and squeezed vacuum states are calculated. When the initial fields are in number states, the three-peak structure of each model cavity field spectra appear for weak fields, and two-peak or single-peak structure appear for strong fields. When both field modes are in a superposition of number states initially, the cavity field spectra are generally of two-peak structure. With the increase of γ=g2/g1,one peak rises and the other peak reduces.

Cavity Field Spectra of Two Coupling Atoms in a Cavity with Kerr Medium

Gao Yun-feng

The cavity field spectra of two coupling atom Jaynes-Cummings(J-C) model with Kerr-like medium were studied. The calculation results for the initial fields in pure number state and the atom in the upper level were presented.Effects of Kerr medium on the spectral structure were discussed. It is found that every peak frequency get a rise with the increase of the Kerr-effect.Four Rabi peaks appear when the field is vacuum. Two Rabi peaks become weaker until disappearing with χ/g increase. The other two peaks get the highest at χ/g≈0.7 and the peak-space increases gently. When n0,only one peak rises to the highest point, the others reduce until disappearing. The cavity field spectra become single-peak structure.

Cavity field spectrum of two coupled atoms Raman interacting with single mode field

Yun Liang Gao

The cavity field spectrum of two coupled atoms Raman interacting with a simgle mode field in an ideal cavity is investigated. The effects of dipole dipole interaction of atoms and exchange symmetry of the initial state of atoms on the cavity field spectra are analyzed. It is found that five peak structure appears for weak fields, and three peak structure appears for strong field. When the two atoms are in the different state initially, the exchange symmetry of the atoms play a decisive role in the structure of the cavity field spectra.
