Abstract

With the consideration of Milburn model of intrinsic decoherece, the atomic population inversion in the system of the binomial optical field interacting with a two-level atom is inverstigated. The influences of instrinsic decoherece, the parameters η of the binomial optical field and photon number on the atomic population inversion are discussed. The result show that the phenomena of collapse and revival will also appear with the intrinsic decoherece. The amplitude of the Rabi oscillation will be reduced to zero with the evolution of being time. The decay process is at faster rate with the values of the parameters of the instrinsic decoherece smaller. When the binomial optical state changes from a coherent state to a middle state then to a Fock state, the phenomena of collapse and revival can also occur. The Rabi oscillation frequency of the atomic population increases apparently. The phenomena of collapse and revival disappear as photon number increases.

The Atomic Population Inversion in the System of Schrdinger Cat State Light Field interacting with a Two-level Atom under Intrinsic Decoherence Condition

WU Shu-mei

The atomic population inversion in a system of a two-level atom interacting with the Schrdinger cat state light field was studied by solving the Milburn equation. The effect of intrinsic decoherence, the strength of light field and the phase angle between the two coherence states on atomic population inversion were analyzed. The results show that the atomic population inversion decreases to zero with the evolvement of time under intrinsic decoherence. The atomic population inversion damps strongly with the reducing of the intrinsic decoherence as the strength of light field is at a fixed value. The atomic population inversion decreases quickly in an odd coherent state but slowly in an even coherent state. The value of atomic population inversion in a Yurke-Stoler coherent state is between them. When the intrinsic decoherence keeps at the fixed level, the collapse and revival phenomena will be appear with the increase of the strength of light field.Rabi oscillation damps to zero faster.

The Field Entropy Evolution of the Binomial Optical Field Interacting with the Atom Under Instrinsic Decoherece Condition

Cui Ying-hua

The entropy envolution properties in the system of the binomial optical field interacting with a two-level atom was inverstigated by calculating Milburn equation. The influences of instrinsic decoherece, the parameters η of the binomial optical field and photon number on the entropy evolution were discussed. It is shown that the quasi-periodicity of the entropy vibration will become weak for the intrinsic decoherece. When the binomial optical field is at the middle states, and the entanglement in the field-atom system approaches to a certain value with time evolution. So the entanglement can be kept with intrinsic decoherece. The value of field entropy decreases and the entanglement is weaken for the binomial optical field changing from a coherent state to a middle state then to a fock state as the parameter of intrinsic decoherece is at a fixed value.

Population Inversion of Two Atoms under the phase decoherence in the multiphoton process

Dong Zhang, Qi Mu

By means of the quantum theory, the population inversion of two atoms in the system of two two-level atoms coupled to a light field in the Binomial Optical Field are investigated in the presence of phase decoherence in the multiphoton Tavis -Cumming Model. The influences of the phase decoherence coefficient, the parameters η of the binomial optical field, the maximum number of photons and the number of the transitional photons on the properties of the population inversion of two atoms have been discussed. The results show that the phase decoherence reduced the oscillation amplitude of the population inversion of two atoms and destroyed the atomic quantum characteristic.Changing the number of the transitional photons, evolved cycle and evolved intensity the population inversion of two atoms can be changed. The phenomena of collapse and revival disappear as photon number increase. When the binomial optical state changes from a coherent state to a Fock state, the oscillation frequency of the atomic population reduces gradually, the phenomena of collapse and revival vanishes gradually.

Quantum properties of atom and two-mode filed with intrinsic decoherence

Yun‐Jie Xia

The atomic population inversion in the system of a two-mode SU(1,1) coherent field interacting with a two-level atom is investigated by solving Milburn equation. The effects on the atomic population inversion induced by the intrinsic decoherence, the two-mode photon number and the mean photon number are analyzed. The results show that the collapse and revival phenomena of the atomic population inversion will appear when the two- mode photon number is not zero and will disappear gradually with the decrease of the mean photon number. The collapse and revival phenomena of the atomic population inversion will also appear with the intrinsic decoherence, but the amplitude of the Rabi oscillation will be reduced to zero with the evolution of the time.

Properties of the population inversion of two-level atomic mixed-state in the multiphoton anti-Jaynes-Cummings model

Dong Zhang

When single mode coherent light field interacts with two-level atomic mixed-state,the properties of the atomic population inversion is studied by means of the multi-photon anti-Jaynes-Cummings model. The influence for the parameters of average photon number of the coherent light field, transition photon number and mixing extent of the atomic initial state on the atomic population inversion has been discussed. The results show that the collapse and revival phenomena of periodicity will also appear in the two-level atomic population inversion. With the increasing of the average photon number of the coherent light field and the transition photon number, the revival period and attenuation time of collapse will change. With the increase of the average photon number of the coherent light field, the oscillation frequency of the atomic population inversion increases correspondingly. The revival period and attenuation time of collapse will not change, but the oscillation amplitude of the atomic population inversion will be increase as the decreasing of mixing extent of the atomic initial state.

Evolution of Atomic Population in System of Two-mode Entangled Coherent Field Interacting with Atoms in Bell States in Kerr Medium

Zhuo‐Liang Cao

The time evolution of atomic population of the system, where the two identical two-level atoms in Bell states interact with two-mode entangled coherent field in a cavity filled with the Kerr medium, was investigated by means of quantum theory and numerical method. The effects of the atomic initial state, mean photon numbers of field, the degree of the entanglement for the entangled coherent field, and the coupling strength between the Kerr medium and field on the atom’s population are discussed via numerical calculations. The results show that the atomic population is time-independent provided that the atoms are in β11〉 state. For the other three Bell states, there will appear the periodical collapse-revival of atomic population if the initial mean photon number reaches some special values. With the increase of the initial mean photon number, the oscillation frequency of the time-evolution of atomic population increases correspondingly, and the amplitude decreases. The degree of the entanglement of the two-mode entangled coherent field has no effect on the frequency of the Rabi oscillation, but has an obvious effect on the amplitude of Rabi oscillation. When the coupling strength between the Kerr medium and field reaches some special values, it has the obvious effects on the cycle of collapse-revival of atomic population, the frequency and the amplitude of Rabi oscillation.
