Abstract

Abstract The amorphization of the spin‐3/2 transverse Ising model on a cubic lattice (N = 6) is studied within the effective field theory. The total longitudinal and transverse moments are obtained. A number of interesting phenomena is found in these quantities, due to the fluctuation of exchange interactions and the applied transverse field.

Amorphization of the Transverse Ising Model with Spin‐1

Jialin Zhong, Jialiang Li, Chuan‐Zhang Yang

Abstract The amorphization of the transverse Ising model on square lattice with S = 1 is discussed by using the effective‐field approximation. The longitudinal and transverse magnetization, the fluctuation of spin operator Sz, Δ = (y – m )1/2, associated with the order parameter y  ≪(S )2≫r and the initial parallel susceptibility χ‖ are calculated in detail. Some interesting properties in their behavior are investigated.

Phase diagrams of the spin‐1/2 transverse ising model with random interactions

E. El Mir, M. Saber

Abstract The phase diagrams of the spin‐1/2 transverse Ising model with random interactions are investigated within the framework of the effective field theory using an improved configurational averaging procedure. General formulae, applicable to lattices with coordination number z, are given. Numerical results are presented for a simple cubic lattice. It is found that the effects of a transverse field on the phase diagrams exhibit a number of interesting phenomena.

Phase diagrams of the spin‐3/2 transverse ising model with random interactions

Abstract The transverse spin‐3/2 Ising model with random interactions is studied using an effective field method within the framework of a single‐site cluster theory. The effective field equations are derived using a probability distribution method based on the use of generalized Van der Waerden identities, that account exactly for the single‐site kinematic relations. A model is adopted in which the nearest‐neighbour exchange couplings are described by the probability distribution law: P(Jij) = p δ(Jij‐J) + (1‐p) δ(Jij‐aJ). The critical temperature at which the longitudinal magnetization vanishes is studied as a function of p and the transverse field strength. The thermal variation of the longitudinal and transverse magnetizations and higher‐order magnetization moments are also studied.

Magnetic properties of a transverse spin‐$ {3 \over 2} $ Ising model with random longitudinal field

Yaqiu Liang, Guozhu Wei, Guoli Song

Abstract Within the framework of the effective‐field theory with correlations, a spin‐$ {3 \over 2} $ transverse Ising model in the longitudinal random‐field on a honeycomb lattice is studied. The phase diagrams and the behavior of the tricritical point are examined. The possible re‐entrance phenomena displayed by the system due to the competition effects that occur for the appropriate ranges of the random and transverse field are investigated. The longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, the longitudinal quadrupolar moments and internal energy are given numerically for a honeycomb lattice (z = 3). (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Magnetic Properties and Phase Transitions in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Simple Cubic Lattice

H. Mohammadi Kamrava, M. Barati

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization,  internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.
