Abstract

Abstract The amorphization of the spin‐1 transverse Ising model on a square lattice is studied within the effective field theory. The total longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, and quadrupolar moments are obtained. A number of interesting phenomena is found in these quantities, due to the fluctuation of exchange interactions and the applied transverse field.

Amorphization of the Transverse Ising Model with Spin‐1

Jialin Zhong, Jialiang Li, Chuan‐Zhang Yang

Abstract The amorphization of the transverse Ising model on square lattice with S = 1 is discussed by using the effective‐field approximation. The longitudinal and transverse magnetization, the fluctuation of spin operator Sz, Δ = (y – m )1/2, associated with the order parameter y  ≪(S )2≫r and the initial parallel susceptibility χ‖ are calculated in detail. Some interesting properties in their behavior are investigated.

Magnetic properties of a transverse spin‐$ {3 \over 2} $ Ising model with random longitudinal field

Yaqiu Liang, Guozhu Wei, Guoli Song

Abstract Within the framework of the effective‐field theory with correlations, a spin‐$ {3 \over 2} $ transverse Ising model in the longitudinal random‐field on a honeycomb lattice is studied. The phase diagrams and the behavior of the tricritical point are examined. The possible re‐entrance phenomena displayed by the system due to the competition effects that occur for the appropriate ranges of the random and transverse field are investigated. The longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, the longitudinal quadrupolar moments and internal energy are given numerically for a honeycomb lattice (z = 3). (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The Site‐Bond Diluted Transverse Ising Model with S = 1

Chuan‐Zhang Yang, Jialin Zhong

Abstract Within the framework of an effective‐field theory, the longitudinal and transverse magnetization, critical temperature, and critical transverse field of a site‐bond diluted transverse Ising ferromagnet on square lattice with S = 1 are calculated in detail. The dependence of these thermodynamic quantities on the concentration of the sites and of the bonds is investigated.

Magnetic properties of a transverse spin-1 Ising model with random crystal-field interactions

A. Benyoussef, Hamid Ez-zahraouy A

We study the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a transverse spin-1 Ising model with random longitudinal crystal-field interactions using an expansion technique for cluster identities of spin-1 localized spin systems. Partially ordered phases appear for a particular two valued distribution P(D i )=1/2( delta (D i -(1+ alpha )D)+ delta (D i -(1- alpha )D)), and sufficiently small transverse field Omega . The longitudinal and transverse magnetizations and the quadrupolar moments are calculated. General formulae, applicable to structures with arbitrary coordination number N, are given.

The Theoretical Calculation of the Properties of Transverse Ising Model

Tian Li-zhen

The magnetic properties of the transverse Ising model with coordination number 6 (simple cubic lattice) and 4 (square lattice) are studied by using Bethe-Peierls approximation. For different transverse fields, the quantities of the two systems, such as the free energy, transverse and longitudinal magnetizations, internal energy and the magnetic specific heat, and so on, are calculated. It is found that the transverse field influences the quantities of the system very much and has the inhibiting effect on the spontaneous magnetization.
