Amorphization in an Ising nanowire; unconventional effects of a uniformly applied transverse field

Abstract

The phase diagrams and magnetizations of an Ising nanowire with an amorphization are investigated by the use of the effective field theory with correlations, when a uniformly transverse field is applied perpendicularly to the main axis of the nanowire. Some characteristic behaviors have been obtained in them, such as the two types of reentrant phenomena induced by an applied transverse field.

Unique phase diagrams in a graphene-like transverse Ising nanoparticle

T. Kaneyoshi

The phase diagrams and the magnetizations in a graphene-like two-dimensional nanoparticle described by the transverse Ising model are investigated by the use of the effective-field theory with correlations. We have found some characteristic behaviors especially for the system with a small transverse field and a small surface exchange interaction, such as the reentrant phenomena.

The magnetic susceptibility on the transverse antiferromagnetic Ising model: Analysis of the reentrant behavior

Minos A. Neto, J. Ricardo de Sousa, Igor T. Padilha +3 more

We study the three-dimensional antiferromagnetic Ising model in both uniform longitudinal [Formula: see text] and transverse [Formula: see text] magnetic fields by using the effective-field theory (EFT) with finite cluster [Formula: see text] spin (EFT-1). We analyzed the behavior of the magnetic susceptibility to investigate the reentrant phenomena that we have seen in the same phase diagram previously obtained in other papers. Our results shows the presence of two divergences in the susceptibility that indicates the existence of a reentrant behavior.

Magnetic Properties of the Amorphous Transverse Spin‐1 Ising Model

A. Benyoussef, Y. El Amraoui, M. Saber

Abstract The amorphization of the spin‐1 transverse Ising model on a square lattice is studied within the effective field theory. The total longitudinal and transverse magnetizations, and quadrupolar moments are obtained. A number of interesting phenomena is found in these quantities, due to the fluctuation of exchange interactions and the applied transverse field.

Abstract The amorphization of the spin‐3/2 transverse Ising model on a cubic lattice (N = 6) is studied within the effective field theory. The total longitudinal and transverse moments are obtained. A number of interesting phenomena is found in these quantities, due to the fluctuation of exchange interactions and the applied transverse field.

Phase transition of transverse Ising model in a random field

Enaldo F. Sarmento, T. Kaneyoshi

The phase diagrams of a transverse Ising model with a random field are studied within the framework of an effective-field theory with correlations. We find that the reentrant phenomenon of second order is possible for the system with a coordination number z larger than z=4, when the applied random field is bimodal. The reentrant phenomenon comes from the competition between the transverse field and the random field, especially near the critical region where the tricritical behavior disappears.

Phase Diagram and Tricritical Behavior of a Spin-2 Transverse Ising Model in a Random Field

Yaqiu Liang, Guozhu Wei, Song Li-Li +2 more

The phase diagrams of a spin-2 transverse Ising model with a random field on honeycomb, square, and simple-cubic lattices, respectively, are investigated within the framework of an effective-field theory with correlations. We find the behavior of the tricritical point and the reentrant phenomenon for the system with any coordination number z , when the applied random field is bimodal. The behavior of the tricritical point is also examined as a function of applied transverse field. The reentrant phenomenon comes from the competition between the transverse field and the random field.
