Abstract

Designing efficient key agreement protocols is a fundamental cryptographic problem. In this paper, we first define a security model for key agreement in certificateless cryptography that is an extension of earlier models. We note that the existing pairing free protocols are not secure in our model. We design an efficient pairing-free, single round protocol that is secure in our model based on the hardness assumption of the Computational Diffie Hellman (CDH) problem. We also observe that previously existing pairing-free protocols were secure based on much stronger assumptions such as the hardness of the Gap Diffie Hellman problem. We use a restriction of our scheme to design an efficient pairing-free single round identity based key agreement protocol that is secure in the id-CK+ model based on the hardness assumption of the CDH problem. Additionally, both our schemes satisfy several other security properties such as forward secrecy, resistance to reflection attacks etc.

Provably Secure Certificateless Two-Party Authenticated Key Agreement Protocol without Pairing

Manman Geng, Futai Zhang

Key agreement is one of the fundamental cryptographic primitives in public key cryptography. So far several certificateless two-party authenticated key agreement (CL-T-AKA) protocols have been proposed. However, all these protocols are based on bilinear map and most of them are without formal security proof. In this paper, we present a new formal security model of CL-T-AKA protocols and bring forward the first two-party key agreement protocol without the computation of expensive bilinear map. Our protocol is secure under the security model assuming the Gap-DH problem is intractable. With respect to efficiency, our protocol requires a single round of communication in which each party sends only one group element, and needs only five modular exponentiation computations. In addition, we point out that an existing certificateless two-party key agreement protocol cannot resist man-in-the-middle attack.

Identity-Based One Round Key Agreement Protocol without Bilinear Pairings

Wenhao Liu, Shengbao Wang, Xiao Tan +2 more

Almost all the existing identity-based key agreement (ID-KA) protocols cannot achieve both ephemeral secret reveal resilience and pairing-free. In this paper, a pairing-free ID-KA protocol is proposed, which captures all basic desirable security properties including key generation center forward secrecy, key compromise impersonation resilience and ephemeral secrets reveal resistance. On the other hand, the proposed scheme only needs one round communication between the two parties. Compared with the previous ID-KA protocols, the proposed scheme is more secure and efficient.

An Authenticated Certificateless Public Key Encryption Scheme.

Young-Ran Lee, Hyang-Sook Lee

In 2003, Al-Riyami and Paterson[1] proposed the certificateless public key cryptography(CL-PKC) which is intermediate between traditional certificated PKC and identity-based PKC. In this paper, we propose an authenticated certificateless public key encryption scheme. Our result improves their public key encryption scheme in the efficiency. The security of the protocol is based on the hardness of two problems; the computational Diffie-Hellman problem(CDHP) and the bilinear Diffie-Hellman problem(BDHP). We also give a formal security model for both confidentiality and authentication, and then show that our scheme is probably secure in the security model.

Provable efficient certificateless group key exchange protocol

Chunjie Cao, Jianfeng Ma, SangJae Moon

Certificateless public key cryptography (CL-PKC) avoids the inherent escrow of identity-based cryptography and does not require certificates to guarantee the authenticity of public keys. Based on CL-PKC, we present an efficient constant-round group key exchange protocol, which is provably secure under the intractability of computation Diffie-Hellman problem. Our protocol is a contributory key exchange with perfect forward secrecy and has only two communication rounds. So it is more efficient than other protocols. Moreover, our protocol provides a method to design efficient constant-round group key exchange protocols and most secret sharing schemes could be adopted to construct our protocol.

Certificateless non-interactive key exchange protocol without pairings

Yun Wei, Fushan Wei, Chuangui Ma

Non-interactive key exchange (NIKE) allows two parties to establish a shared key without communications. In ID-based non-interactive key exchange (ID-NIKE) protocols, private key generator (PKG) knows user's private key, so it can calculate the shared key between two participants, and most constructions of ID-NIKE need expensive pairing operation. To overcome these disadvantages, a security model of certificateless non-interactive key exchange (CL-NIKE) is proposed in this paper. And a scheme without pairings is also given. The proposed protocol is proved secure in the Random Oracle Model (ROM) based on the gap Diffie-Hellman (GDH) and computational Diffie-Hellman (CDH) problem. In the new protocol, key generation center (KGC) only knows user's partial key and is not able to calculate the shared key. Moreover, the new protocol is more efficient than the existing ID-NIKE schemes because it is pairing-free.

Identity-Based Authenticated Key Agreement Protocols without Bilinear Pairing in Multiple PKG Environments

Junquan Li

The authors present an identity-based authenticated key agreement protocol without bilinear pairing in multiple PKG environments.Reduced to the standard computational Diffie-Hellman(CDH) assumption in the random oracle model, the protocol security is given a complete proof based on the security of proposed ID-based exponential challenge-response(XCR) signature scheme and dual challenge-response(DCR) signature scheme.Compared with previous identity-based authenticated key agreement protocols, the new protocol shows better performances.
