Abstract

The article addresses the damped driven Jaynes-Cummings for quantised one-mode Maxwell field coupled to a two-level molecule. We consider a broad class of damping and pumping which are polynomial in the creation and annihilation operators. Our main result is the construction of a contraction dynamical semigroup in the Hilbert space of Hermitian Hilbert-Schmidt operators in the case of a nonpositive dissipation operator and time-independent pumping. All trajectories of the semigroup are generalised solutions to the Jaynes-Cummings equations. As a key example, we prove nonpositivity for the basic dissipation operator of Quantum Optics.

On global dynamics for damped driven Jaynes-Cummings equations

A. I. Komech, E. A. Kopylova

The article concerns damped driven Jaynes-Cummings equation which describes quantised one-mode Maxwell field coupled to a two-level molecule. We consider a broad class of damping and pumping which are polynomial in the creation and annihilation operators, and their structures correspond to the theory of completely positive and trace preserving generators (CPTP) of Lindblad and Kossakowski & al. Our main result is the construction of global generalised solutions with values in the Hilbert space of nonnegative Hermitian Hilbert-Schmidt operators in the case of time-dependent pumping. The proofs rely on finite-dimensional approximations of the annihilation and creation operators.

On Dissipation Operators of Quantum Optics

Alexander Komech, E.A. Kopylova

We consider dissipation operators used in Quantum Optics for the description of quantum spontaneous emission in the context of damped driven Jaynes–Cummings equations. The equations describe quantized one-mode Maxwell field coupled to a two-level molecule. The nonpositivity of two basic dissipation operators is proved in the framework of the theory of the Hilbert space of the Hilbert–Schmidt operators. We show that one of the operators is symmetric, while the other is not.

On single-frequency asymptotics for the Maxwell-Bloch equations: pure states

A. I. Komech, E. A. Kopylova

We consider damped driven Maxwell-Bloch equations for a single-mode Maxwell field coupled to a two-level molecule. The equations are used for semiclassical description of the laser action. Our main result is the construction of solutions with single-frequency asymptotics of the Maxwell field in the case of quasiperiodic pumping. The asymptotics hold for solutions with harmonic initial values which are stationary states of averaged reduced equations in the interaction picture. We calculate all harmonic states and analyse their stability. Our calculations rely on the Hopf reduction by the gauge symmetry group U(1). The asymptotics follow by an extension of the averaging theory of Bogolyubov--Eckhaus--Sanchez-Palencia onto dynamical systems on manifolds. The key role in the application of the averaging theory is played by a special a priori estimate.

The Generalized Tavis—Cummings Model with Cavity Damping

N. M. Bogoliubov, Andrei V. Rybin

In this Communication, we consider a generalised Tavis–Cummings model when the damping process is taken into account. We show that the quantum dynamics governed by a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is exactly solvable using the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method, and the Algebraic Bethe Ansatz. The leakage of photons is described by a Lindblad-type master equation. The non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is diagonalised by state vectors, which are elementary symmetric functions parametrised by the solutions of the Bethe equations. The time evolution of the photon annihilation operator is defined via a corresponding determinant representation.

Invariant approach to the driven Jaynes-Cummings model

Ivan A. Bocanegra-Garay, Leonardi Hernández-Sánchez, I. Ramos-Prieto +2 more

We investigate the dynamics of the driven Jaynes-Cummings model, where a two-level atom interacts with a quantized field and both, atom and field, are driven by an external classical field. Via an invariant approach, we are able to transform the corresponding Hamiltonian into the one of the standard Jaynes-Cummings model. Subsequently, the exact analytical solution of the Schrödinger equation for the driven system is obtained and employed to analyze some of its dynamical variables.

Mean-field and quantum-fluctuation dynamics in the driven dispersive Jaynes-Cummings model

Th. K. Mavrogordatos, P. Szafulski, Eran Ginossar +1 more

In this work we investigate the regime of amplitude bistability in the driven dissipative Jaynes-Cummings (JC) model. We study the semiclassical equation dynamics in contrast to entangled cavity-photon and qubit quantum trajectories, discussing our results in the context of an out-of-equilibrium first order quantum dissipative phase transition for a single JC resonator. Finally, we compare the switching process between metastable states for the two system degrees of freedom by examining a single realization of the random qubit vector in the Bloch sphere next to the intracavity amplitude quasi distributions at given time instants.
