MINIMAL ENTANGLEMENT FIDELITIES OF SOME SINGLE QUBIT QUANTUM NOISY CHANNELS

Abstract

The minimal entanglement fidelities of the phase damping channel, depolarizing channel, two-Pauli channel and amplitude damping channel are calculated. It is shown that for the same condition, the minimal fidelity of the phase damping channel is the biggest among the four channels. The minimal fidelity of the depolarizing channel is bigger than the other two.

ENTANGLEMENT-ASSISTED CLASSICAL CAPACITIES OF SOME SINGLE QUBIT QUANTUM NOISY CHANNELS

Xian-Ting Liang, Hong-Yi Fan

In this paper, we calculate the entanglement-assisted classical capacities of the depolarizing channel, the phase damping channel, the phase flip channel, the bit flip channel, the bit-phase flip channel, the two-Pauli channel and the amplitude channel, and discuss the analytical results obtained. The Stokes papametrization representation of a qubit and the characteristic of unitary covariance of some quantum noisy channels are used in the calculations.

Entanglement Fidelity in Standard Quantum Channels

Niccolò Zanieri, Marios Kountouris

Entanglement fidelity quantifies how well a quantum channel preserves the correlations between a transmitted system and an inaccessible reference system. We derive closed-form expressions for the entanglement fidelity associated with several standard quantum noise models, including the random Pauli-X, dephasing, depolarizing, Werner-Holevo, generalized Pauli (Weyl), and amplitude-damping channels. For each model, we express the entanglement fidelity in terms of a general input density operator $ρ$, using Schumacher's Kraus-operator approach, which provides a channel-agnostic recipe applicable to any completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) map with a finite Kraus representation. We then specialize to a communication scenario in which the source emits a two-letter parametric alphabet, thereby making explicit the dependence of entanglement preservation on both channel and source parameters. The resulting expressions enable direct comparisons of channel performance and rankings for representative families of input states, including common qubit states.

Entanglement distribution via noisy quantum channels

Wang Qiong, Mei-Yuan Tan, Yun Liu +1 more

We investigate the change of entanglement for distributing an arbitrarily entangled two-qubit pure state via three typical kinds of noisy quantum channels—amplitude damping, phase damping and depolarizing quantum channels. We find that for one-qubit transmission, the output distant entanglement (measured by concurrence) reduces proportionately with respect to its initial amount, and the entanglement-decay ratio is determined only by the noisy characteristics of quantum channels. For two-qubit transmission, the rule of the entanglement change is complex. For phase damping quantum channels, the four Bell states and are all the optimal entanglement-distribution (OED) input states. But for amplitude damping quantum channels, only |ψ ± ⟩ are the OED input. For depolarizing quantum channels, and in the case of symmetrical quantum channels, the four Bell states are still the OED input. We also discuss the problem of entanglement sudden death (ESD) and find that for all the three types of quantum channels, ESD can be found.

Simple non-Markovian microscopic models for the depolarizing channel of a single qubit

K. M. Fonseca-Romero, Rosario Lo Franco

The archetypal one-qubit noisy channels—depolarizing, phase-damping and amplitude-damping channels—describe both Markovian and non-Markovian evolution. Simple microscopic models for the depolarizing channel, both classical and quantum, are considered. Microscopic models that describe phase-damping and amplitude-damping channels are briefly reviewed.

Dynamics of Cohering and Decohering Power under Markovian Channels*

Ming-Ming 明明 Chen 陈, Yu 宇 Luo 罗, Lian-He 连合 Shao 邵 +1 more

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the cohering and decohering power of the one-qubit Markovian channels with respect to coherence measures based on the l 1 - norm, the Rényi α - relative entropy and the Tsallis α - relative entropy of coherence, respectively. The amplitude damping channel, phase damping channel, depolarizing channel, and flip channels are analytically calculated. It shows that the decohering power of the amplitude damping channel on the x , y , and z basis is equal to each other. The same phenomenon can be seen for the phase damping channel and the flip channels. The cohering power for the phase damping channel and the flip channels on the x , y basis also equals to that on the z basis. However, the cohering and decohering power of the depolarizing channel is independent to the reference basises. And the cohering power of the amplitude damping channel on the x , y basis is different to that on the z basis.
