Abstract

We consider two-site XXX Heisenberg magnets with different boundary conditions, which are integrable systems on so (4) possessing additional cubic and quartic integrals of motion. The separated variables for these models are constructed using the Sklyanin method.

New boundary conditions for integrable lattices

V B Kuznetsov, M F Jorgensen, P L Christiansen

New boundary conditions for classical integrable nonlinear lattices of the XXX type, such as the Heisenberg chain and the Toda lattice, are presented. These integrable extensions are formulated in terms of a generic XXX Heisenberg magnet interacting with two additional spins at each end of the chain. The construction uses the most general rank-1 ansatz for the 2*2 L-operator satisfying the reflection equation algebra with rational r-matrix. The associated quadratic algebra is shown to be that of dynamical symmetry for the A 1 and BC 2 Calogero-Moser problems. Other physical realizations of our quadratic algebra are also considered.

Spin chains and Gustafson’s integrals

S É Derkachov, A N Manashov

Abstract Gustafson’s integrals are multidimensional generalizations of the classical Mellin–Barnes integrals. We show that some of these integrals arise from relations between matrix elements in Sklyanin’s representation of separated variables in spin chain models. We also present several new integrals.

New Separation of Variables for the Classical XXX and XXZ Heisenberg Spin Chains

Universit&, Guido Magnano, #224 +2 more

We propose a non-standard separation of variables for the classical integrable XXX and XXZ spin chains with degenerate twist matrix. We show that for the case of such twist matrices one can interchange the role of classical separating functions A(u) and B(u) and construct a new full set of separated variables, satisfying simpler equation of separation and simpler Abel equations in comparison with the standard separated variables of Sklyanin. We show that for certain cases of the twist matrices the constructed separated variables can be directly identified with action-angle coordinates.

Solutions de chaînes de spin XXZ et XYZ avec bords par la séparation des variables

Simone Faldella

In this thesis we give accounts on the solution of the open XXZ and XYZ quantum spin-1/2 chains with the most generic integrable boundary terms. By using the the Separation of Variables method (SoV), due to Sklyanin, we are able, in the inhomogeneous case, to build the complete set of eigenstates and the associated eigenvalues. The characterization of these quantities is made through a maximal system of N quadratic equations, where N is the size of the chain. Different methods, like the Algebraic Bethe ansatz (ABA) or other generalized Bethe ansatz techniques, have been used, in the past, in order to tackle these problems. None of them resulted effective in the reproduction of the full set of eigenstates and eigenvalues in the case of most general boundary conditions. A Vandermonde determinant formula for the scalar products of SoV states is obtained as well. The scalar product formula represents a first step towards the calculation of form factors and correlation functions.
