Abstract

In this work we construct two classes of exact solutions for the most general time-dependent Dirac Hamiltonian in $1+1$ dimensions. Some problems regarding some formal solutions in the literature are discussed. Finally the possibility of existence of a generalized Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant connected with such solutions is discussed.

ANALYTICAL SOLUTION OF (2+1) DIMENSIONAL DIRAC EQUATION IN TIME-DEPENDENT NONCOMMUTATIVE PHASE-SPACE

Ilyas Haouam

In this article, we studied the system of a (2+1) dimensional Dirac equation in a time-dependent noncommutative phase-space. More specifically, we investigated the analytical solution of the corresponding system by the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant method based on the construction of the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant. Knowing that we obtained the time-dependent Dirac Hamiltonian of the problem in question from a time-dependent Bopp-Shift translation, then used it to set the Lewis- Riesenfeld invariant operators. Thereafter, the obtained results were used to express the eigenfunctions that lead to determining the general solution of the system.

Solutions of the Schrödinger equation for the time-dependent linear potential

Jian Qi Shen

By making use of the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant theory, the solution of the Schrödinger equation for the time-dependent linear potential corresponding to the quadratic-form Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant $I_{\rm q}(t)$ is obtained in the present paper. It is emphasized that in order to obtain the general solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation, one should first find the complete set of Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants. For the present quantum system with a time-dependent linear potential, the linear $I_{\rm l}(t)$ and quadratic $I_{\rm q}(t)$ (where the latter $I_{\rm q}(t)$ cannot be written as the squared of the former $I_{\rm l}(t)$, {\it i.e.}, the relation $I_{\rm q}(t)= cI_{\rm l}^{2}(t)$ does not hold true always) will form a complete set of Lewis-Riesenfeld invariants. It is also shown that the solution obtained by Bekkar {\it et al.} more recently is the one corresponding to the linear $I_{\rm l}(t)$, one of the invariants that form the complete set. In addition, we discuss some related topics regarding the comment [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 68}, 016101 (2003)] of Bekkar {\it et al.} on Guedes's work [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 63}, 034102 (2001)] and Guedes's corresponding reply [Phys. Rev. A {\bf 68}, 016102 (2003)].

Wave Functions for Time-Dependent Dirac Equation under GUP*

Meng-Yao Zhang, Chao‐Yun Long, Zheng‐Wen Long

Abstract In this work, the time-dependent Dirac equation is investigated under generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) framework. It is possible to construct the exact solutions of Dirac equation when the time-dependent potentials satisfied the proper conditions. In (1+1) dimensions, the analytical wave functions of the Dirac equation under GUP have been obtained for the two kinds time-dependent potentials.

Time-dependent invariants and quantum mechanics in two dimensions

Asish Kumar Dhara, S. V. Lawande

A class of time-dependent problems in two space dimensions possessing time-dependent invariants, bilinear in momenta, is considered. Explicit expression of the potentials and the corresponding invariants are derived. Quantum mechanics is introduced in these time-dependent problems directly through a Feynman propagator defined as a path integral involving the classical action. The propagators are shown to admit expansions in terms of the eigenfunctions of the corresponding invariant operators. Equivalence of the present theory to that of Lewis and Riesenfeld [H. R. Lewis, Jr. and W. B. Riesenfeld, J. Math. Phys. 10, 1458 (1969)] is discussed.

Exact time dependence of solutions to the time-dependent Schrödinger equation

Max A. Lohe

Solutions of the Schrödinger equation with an exact time dependence are derived as eigenfunctions of dynamical invariants which are constructed from time-independent operators using time-dependent unitary transformations. Exact solutions and a closed form expression for the corresponding time evolution operator are found for a wide range of time-dependent Hamiltonians in d dimensions, including non-Hermitean -symmetric Hamiltonians. Hamiltonians are constructed using time-dependent unitary spatial transformations comprising dilatations, translations and rotations and solutions are found in several forms: as eigenfunctions of a quadratic invariant, as coherent state eigenfunctions of boson operators, as plane wave solutions from which the general solution is obtained as an integral transform by means of the Fourier transform, and as distributional solutions for which the initial wavefunction is the Dirac δ-function. For the isotropic harmonic oscillator in d dimensions radial solutions are found which extend known results for d = 1, including Barut–Girardello and Perelomov coherent states (i.e., vector coherent states), which are shown to be related to eigenfunctions of the quadratic invariant by the ζ-transformation. This transformation, which leaves the Ermakov equation invariant, implements SU(1, 1) transformations on linear dynamical invariants. coherent states are derived also for the time-dependent linear potential. Exact solutions are found for Hamiltonians with electromagnetic interactions in which the time-dependent magnetic and electric fields are not necessarily spatially uniform. As an example, it is shown how to find exact solutions of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for the Dirac magnetic monopole in the presence of time-dependent magnetic and electric fields of a specified form.

Constraints on the choice of position dependent effective mass and external potential for the existence of Lewis-Riesenfeld invariance and quantum canonical transformation

Kalpana Biswas, Jyoti Prasad Saha, Pinaki Patra

Lewis-Riesenfeld -Ermakov's (LR) invariant method for the construction of time-dependent phase-space invariant is extended for the general quantum system with position-dependent effective mass (PDEM) Hamiltonian. It turns out that, only a specific class of PDEM and a particular class of external potentials will exhibit the LR-invariant operator in close form. Then we have determined a class of unitary time-dependent quantum canonical transformation for the concerned PDEM and external potentials so that an equivalent time-independent PDEM Hamiltonian is obtained.

By making use of the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant theory, the solution of the Schrödinger equation for the time-dependent linear potential corresponding to the quadratic-form Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant Iq(t)I_{\rm q}(t)Iq(t) is obtained in the present paper.
