Concept of consciousness in the context of quantum mechanics

Михаил Борисович Менский

Conceptual problems of the quantum theory of measurement are considered, which are embodied in well-known paradoxes and in Bell's inequalities. Arguments are advanced in favor of the viewpoint that these problems may hardly be solved without direct inclusion of the observer's consciousness in the theoretical description of a quantum measurement. Discussed in this connection is the so-called many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics proposed by Everett, as is the extension of Everett's concept, which consists in the assumption that separating the quantum state components corresponding to alternative measurements is not only associated with the observer's consciousness but is completely identified with it. This approach is shown to open up qualitatively new avenues for the unification of physics and psychology and, more broadly, of the sciences and the humanities. This may lead to an extension of the theory of consciousness and shed light on significant and previously misunderstood phenomena in the sphere of consciousness.

Hidden human variables in quantum mechanics?

Göte Nyman

The problem of the observer in quantum mechanics is getting new human content. The paradox of Wigner's friend and its extended versions have observers who not only observe quantum phenomena, but communicate, have memories and even super-observer powers. Observers are represented by particle paths and state memories and advanced AI has been suggested to act as an observer. There is a new call for a solid theory of the observer in quantum mechanics. Two different branches of observer theories have emerged. The purely physical one is Heisenbergian, e.g. relational quantum mechanics where the observer is considered as any other physical quantum system. The other branch is psychologically rich as its observer has complex human faculties such as a mind, mental states and memory (Many minds), or the observer is considered as an active and experiencing agent, with continuously refreshed, scientific expectations (QBism). Is the human observer a special case, different from other quantum mechanical systems? Why is there no theory of the general observer in quantum mechanics? A historical summary is covered on how quantum mechanical interpretations have treated the observer, and the concept of hidden human variables is suggested to continue the discussion on the theoretical nature of the observer.

Approach to Financial Decision Making within Quantum Physics and Neurosciences

Ana Njegovanović

This paper focuses on the study of the functional relationships between the tools of neuroscience, neurofinance and psychology on the one hand, and quantum physics / quantum mechanics and neurophysiology on the other. Can physics / quantum mechanics help explain / understand human behavior through the Shrödinger cat platform (perhaps we can explain the most mysterious phenomena: human behavior - cerebral secretion?)? The concepts of quantum mechanics allow a good prediction of human decision making within Schrödinger's cat (two particles can talk to each other even at a distance of a galaxy, perhaps in this sense can help explain an extremely complex decision making system), and define the "connection of quantum models with neurophysiological processes in the brain “... which is a very complex problem.” (Haven and Khrennikov) The application of quantum physics and neuroscience in finance allows us to consider the complexity of financial decision making, while the connection between quantum physics and psychology manifests itself as the field of quantum physics seeks to understand the fundamental nature of particles. while the field of psychology seeks to explain human nature along with its inherent misconceptions. If decision-making is a process of gathering evidence in favor of different alternatives over time, the process is discontinued once the decision limit is reached, followed by choice of decision. e activity within the posterior parietal cortex several important questions remain unanswered. Neural mechanisms that support the accumulation of evidence record the activities of individual neurons in different parts of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) and the lateral intraparietal area (LIP).
