The Plurinoesis Hypothesis: Branching Phenomenality, Diachronic Continuation, and the Physics of Indefinite Phenomenal Persistence

Abstract

We develop Plurinoesis, a conditional framework embedding an architectural physicalist theory of consciousness, the Fundamental Phenomenality Hypothesis (FPH), in an Everettian no-collapse ontology. Its minimal positive result is a one-to-many theorem: if unitary dynamics yields two or more robustly decohered observer realizers that satisfy fph and remain causally connected to a common predecessor, that predecessor has several phenomenal successors, without branch hopping or new forces. We show that no scalar can serve as both Born measure and graded identity; that consciousness rules depending only on shared state variables cannot distinguish Everett from equivalent ontologies; and that many-worlds with fph does not entail quantum immortality: no non-Born continuation measure examined fixes the non-continuation mass without postselecting on survivors. Strong quantum immortality is thus closed; quantum persistence, the survival of some causally descended successor, follows structurally; and indefinite quantum persistence reduces to a substrate-neutral question: does physics admit an indefinitely continuing phenomenally positive lineage? In a finite history-complete model this holds exactly when a reachable safe cycle exists; for continuous states it is characterised, at a fixed robustness margin, by a greatest-fixed-point viability kernel with a finite negative certificate. We build a finite reversible architecture realizing the fph roles without logical irreversibility, embed it in a periodic history Hamiltonian with a uniquely selected ground and in local spin models, and eliminate many protection mechanisms. An exact Gram criterion trades which-history records against recoherence, and autonomous sectors cannot communicate. The framework is conditional on its parent premises and empirically unconfirmed; whether such a lineage exists remains open.

What Would Count as Evidence for Many Worlds? Operational Equivalence and the Evidential Architecture of Everettian Quantum Mechanics

Kevin L. Michel

Claims that experiments confirm the many-worlds interpretation often conflate evidence for quantum coherence, universal unitarity, the absence of objective collapse, decoherence-defined branches, and the reality of every branch. This paper develops a contrast-relative architecture that separates those targets. A complete theory package includes dynamics, ontology, state and parameter assumptions, and a probability or typicality rule that generates empirical likelihoods. Four formal results follow. Operationally equivalent theories have a Bayes factor of one for every fixed or adaptive protocol in the domain of equivalence. Evidence can redistribute probability toward a theoretical family while leaving the odds among equivalent members unchanged. An exact decomposition identifies the bridge factors required when support is inherited from shared dynamics by stronger structural or ontological claims. Finally, an inheritance-attenuation formula quantifies how evidence for unitarity weakens when Everett is compared with a complement containing other unitary theories. Applications include massive matter-wave interference, XENONnT collapse constraints, experimental quantum Darwinism, Local Friendliness tests, and proposed interbranch communication. Current results extend the tested domain of coherent quantum dynamics, constrain specified collapse models, and support mechanisms for stable, redundant records. They do not supply an outcome distribution favoring Everett over all operationally equivalent unitary rivals or directly establish the reality of every decohered component. Everett can therefore receive indirect, family-mediated confirmation while its distinctive ontology remains underdetermined within a predictive equivalence class.

Truth Is Nothing: Conditional Universality and the Ontology of Belief-Structures

Jihoon Yang

This paper argues that truth has no ontological substance — no metaphysical core, no intrinsic property, no transcendent ground. What exists instead are belief-structures that stabilize under specific boundary conditions. Truth is a survival-effect of such structures. The paper develops this thesis across two interlocking registers: a philosophical argument and a formal mathematical grounding. Philosophically, the paper introduces the concept of conditional universality: universality is not rule-invariance across all contexts but structural recurrence under contextual transformation. A belief-structure is conditionally universal when it maintains a strictly positive viability distance from collapse across a family of variable contexts. This dissolves the classical dichotomy between absolutism (which requires rule-invariance) and relativism (which denies any universal condition). Under this framework, transparency is not a moral preference but an ontological necessity — opacity eliminates the self-correction required for sustained viability. Formally, the paper establishes two theorems. The Born-Consistency Theorem proves that any probability measure on the projectors of a Hilbert space satisfying Non-Contextuality (NC), Countable Additivity, and Tensor-Product Multiplicativity uniquely takes the form μ(P) = Tr(ρP) for a density operator ρ. This covers all dimensions including the qubit case (dim = 2) left open by Gleason's theorem, resolved here via composite embedding and partial trace. The Capture Theorem establishes the converse: NC violation entails the impossibility of a global density operator, forcing fragmentation into a family of frame-local measures disintegrated over a disjoint union of non-commutative contexts. These two results provide the formal foundation for the paper's central claim: global state representability is equivalent to measure invariance across contexts. Truth, formally construed, is this invariance condition — not a relation to an external world, not coherence within a framework, but measure-theoretic consistency across the full event algebra. The paper absorbs Foucauldian genealogy into this structural framework while specifying the conditions genealogy leaves implicit: the ontological difference between genuine structural viability and domination through suppressed differentiation. The Measurement Ledger: Collapse, Decoherence, and Everettian Record Closure in pq-Spacetime

Adam Alexander Dick

This is Paper 157 in the Anaxiomatic Mechanics / pq-Spacetime stack. It develops a finite structural account of quantum measurement based on boundary-supported record formation, decoherence, and global admissible-history closure. In pq-spacetime, measurement is not a fundamental collapse process. A system, apparatus, environment, and observer become incorporated into an enlarged β-boundary whose dynamics stabilize distinguishable record channels. Environmental coupling suppresses accessible interference between incompatible records, while each observer continuation inherits a definite local outcome through its embedding in one stable β-record ledger. The paper distinguishes this branch-local definiteness from the global structure of the theory. The finite amplitude law and No-Fence Principle do not permit admissible history sectors to be deleted by an additional measurement rule. The global metaobject therefore remains closed over the complete admissible-history structure even though individual observers occupy definite record continuations. Collapse is consequently recovered only as an effective conditional update of local access rather than as an ontological destruction of alternatives. The analysis connects measurement directly to the earlier pq-spacetime treatments of entanglement, decoherence, and black-hole information. In each case, reduced access to part of the admissible-history structure can produce locally mixed or effectively classical descriptions without implying destruction of the globally closed state. Born weights are inherited from the prior no-fence scalarization result rather than introduced as an independent measurement postulate. The Measurement Ledger Theorem summarizes the result: quantum measurement is the formation of stable branch-local β-record ledgers through boundary enlargement; consciousness is not a measurement mechanism; primitive collapse and hidden selectors are unnecessary; pointer states correspond to dynamically stable record channels; and the globally admissible history structure remains closed throughout the measurement process. The resulting picture identifies classicality with persistent, redundant record stability rather than with a separate classical ontology. Definite experimental outcomes and globally closed quantum evolution are therefore treated as complementary aspects of the same finite pq-spacetime dynamics.

Reality is Singular, Mathematics are Plural: A Principle of Ontological Singularity with a Gap-Gated Instantiation Law for Quantum Foundations

Robert Daniel Kitcey

Physical reality presents itself as a single, causally unified, decohering history, while the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics is structurally plural: Hilbert space admits superposition, basis freedom, and infinitely many decompositions of any given state. This paper proposes the Principle of Ontological Singularity: formal plurality does not by itself entail ontological plurality. Against Everettian readings that treat decohered sectors of the universal wavefunction as emergent worlds, we argue that Schrödinger evolution supplies unitary dynamics, decoherence supplies approximately autonomous sector structure, and the Born rule supplies statistical weights, but none of these alone supplies worldhood. We formalize this distinction through an ordered pair , where is the plural mathematical map and is a realization selector designating the classically operative sector. We then address the central open question head-on: what determines ? We derive a Spectral-Born Instantiation Law in which the realized sector is selected stochastically from decoherence-stabilized pointer sectors according to Born weights, but only when a Liouvillian classical-instantiation gap exceeds a physical leakage threshold. The parameters of this law are grounded in decoherence timescales rather than left as free metaphysical constants. We introduce the principle of Temporarily Emergent Reality Framework (TERF): the territory is not a permanent feature of an ontological background but a configuration crystallized by conditions and sustained only while those conditions hold. Non-actualized branches are therefore not merely uninstantiated competitors; they are absent from the operative reality set entirely, with no bridge possible because there is nothing on the other end. We further argue that the Everettian ontological extension carries no experimental warrant: no experiment instantiates any additional world we can touch, and the equation’s evidential authority derives entirely from observations made within one causally accessible history. We discuss the law’s relationship to GRW/CSL collapse models, the structure of post-instantiation evolution including recursive refinement, T2 information mechanics at breakdown, and the cosmological scope of the framework—including the primordial kit state, environmentally contingent classical emergence, and the operative irrelevance of multiverse speculation to a framework whose jurisdiction is the territory we occupy. The proposal is presented as a map–territory discipline for quantum foundations: the map may multiply without limit, but the territory remains one—temporarily, contingently, and actually.

A Reconstructional Quantum Theory of the Present: Entangled Read-Out, Probabilistic Actualization, and Emergent Time

Bin Li

Physics describes evolution, causal structure, and measurement outcomes, but lacks an accepted physical account of why one outcome-conditioned quantum situation is actual as the present. This article develops a conditional account within the reconstruction program, which places a premetric selection layer prior to spacetime dynamics. The Indefinite Reconstruction Stability Principle requires identities and readable relations to survive admissible continuation and to ignore unobservable distinctions. A present is proposed to be the outcome-conditioned quantum read-out of an IRSP-stable, history-bearing reconstruction boundary. Because the underlying relational record need not factorize, its read-out is generally entangled rather than a classical instantaneous configuration. Admissible successors are represented by a quantum instrument; present actualization postulates that one stable record sector becomes definite with its conditional probability, without an external observer. An explicit event-identity bridge identifies operationally equivalent realizations of the same descended event, and observable descent then makes its weight independent of reconstruction representative and unread embedding context. Given positivity, normalization, exclusive additivity, and a Hilbert-space read-out, Gleason representation fixes the Born form. Linear history composition implies no genuine third-order successor interference. Proper inheritance of the complete ancestry class supplies a conditional acyclic reconstruction order, stable small-step channels recover standard effective dynamics, and spacelike confluence replaces a preferred global simultaneity surface. The result is a conditional quantum architecture of present actuality and becoming, with explicit premises and failure conditions but no fitted collapse rate.

The Persistence Criterion:Distinguishing Epistemic Obscuration from OntologicalElimination in Physical Theories

Chirag Rathi

This preprint introduces the Persistence Criterion (PC), a conceptual and mathematical framework for distinguishing epistemic obscuration from ontological elimination in physical theories. The central claim is that uncertainty, noise, decoherence, or coarse-graining reduce empirical distinguishability of states or observables without implying that the underlying theoretical structures cease to exist. The framework is developed across classical estimation theory, stochastic dynamical systems, and quantum theory. In the classical domain, noisy observation models and information-theoretic metrics are used to show how distinguishability contracts while state variables persist, consistent with standard treatments in estimation theory and statistical physics (e.g., Fisher information and Bayesian filtering). For dynamical systems, stochastic differential equations and Fokker–Planck dynamics illustrate how deterministic generators remain structurally present despite diffusion-dominated behavior, aligning with established results in open-system dynamics and control theory. In the quantum domain, the Persistence Criterion is formulated using density operators, completely positive trace-preserving (CPTP) maps, and the algebraic (C*-algebraic) formulation of quantum mechanics. Decoherence is treated as an obscuring process acting on states via CPTP channels, while the underlying observable algebra remains invariant. This formulation draws on standard results from quantum information theory and algebraic quantum mechanics, emphasizing that loss of coherence or distinguishability does not entail annihilation of observables or dynamical structure (Holevo, 2011; Nielsen & Chuang, 2010; Breuer & Petruccione, 2002). The Persistence Criterion is interpretation-neutral and consistent with quantum no-go theorems, including Bell, Kochen–Specker, and PBR-type results, as it makes no assumption of value definiteness or hidden variables. Instead, it functions as a criterion of ontological coherence, identifying and excluding a specific interpretational error: the conflation of indistinguishability with non-existence. The work is aligned with non-eliminative structural realism and contemporary discussions of decoherence and ontology in quantum foundations (Ladyman & Ross, 2007; Wallace, 2012; Ruetsche, 2018). No new physical dynamics or empirical predictions are proposed. The contribution is conceptual and formal: clarifying how existing mathematical frameworks already encode persistence under uncertainty, and providing a principled interpretational constraint applicable across classical and quantum theories.
