Physical reality presents itself as a single, causally unified, decohering history, while the mathematical formalism of quantum mechanics is structurally plural: Hilbert space admits superposition, basis freedom, and infinitely many decompositions of any given state. This paper proposes the Principle of Ontological Singularity: formal plurality does not by itself entail ontological plurality. Against Everettian readings that treat decohered sectors of the universal wavefunction as emergent worlds, we argue that Schrödinger evolution supplies unitary dynamics, decoherence supplies approximately autonomous sector structure, and the Born rule supplies statistical weights, but none of these alone supplies worldhood. We formalize this distinction through an ordered pair , where is the plural mathematical map and is a realization selector designating the classically operative sector. We then address the central open question head-on: what determines ? We derive a Spectral-Born Instantiation Law in which the realized sector is selected stochastically from decoherence-stabilized pointer sectors according to Born weights, but only when a Liouvillian classical-instantiation gap exceeds a physical leakage threshold. The parameters of this law are grounded in decoherence timescales rather than left as free metaphysical constants. We introduce the principle of Temporarily Emergent Reality Framework (TERF): the territory is not a permanent feature of an ontological background but a configuration crystallized by conditions and sustained only while those conditions hold. Non-actualized branches are therefore not merely uninstantiated competitors; they are absent from the operative reality set entirely, with no bridge possible because there is nothing on the other end. We further argue that the Everettian ontological extension carries no experimental warrant: no experiment instantiates any additional world we can touch, and the equation’s evidential authority derives entirely from observations made within one causally accessible history. We discuss the law’s relationship to GRW/CSL collapse models, the structure of post-instantiation evolution including recursive refinement, T2 information mechanics at breakdown, and the cosmological scope of the framework—including the primordial kit state, environmentally contingent classical emergence, and the operative irrelevance of multiverse speculation to a framework whose jurisdiction is the territory we occupy. The proposal is presented as a map–territory discipline for quantum foundations: the map may multiply without limit, but the territory remains one—temporarily, contingently, and actually.

Objective Reality presents a unified account of physical reality in which quantum possibility and classical actuality are inseparable aspects of one evolving state. The quantum state carries the coherent possibilities—the amplitudes, phases, correlations, and interference structure—while a single history coordinate identifies the configuration that is temporarily actual. Neither component alone constitutes the physical world; objective reality is the evolving relation between them. This relation is expressed by the complete state Aₜ = (ρₜ, Dₜ, Cₜ, Rₜ, uₜ, Ξₜ), advanced through a single reversible bridge law, Aₜ₊Δₜ = BΔₜ[Aₜ]. Unitary quantum evolution generates the probability current. That current determines the admissible transitions between candidate classical sectors. A reversible selector then converts those transition weights, together with a retained auxiliary coordinate, into one actual successor. Decoherence and spectral stability identify durable record-bearing sectors; conserved quantities are carried through explicit accounting variables; and the inverse bridge reconstructs the preceding complete state. The construction proves normalization, Born equivariance, reversible selection, complete-state invertibility, conservation, classical reduction, relativistic integrability under microcausality, and the persistence of exactly one history coordinate. When the ensemble distribution agrees with the quantum sector weights, the bridge transports it into the next Born distribution while each individual realization follows one determinate history. The resulting formalism connects quantum evolution, measurement, wave–particle behavior, emergent classical records, and relativistic state evolution within one mechanics. It also establishes a common foundation for investigating selected-source gravity, emergent spacetime, vacuum energy, black-hole information, and experimentally falsifiable quantum–classical bridge dynamics.
This preprint presents a complete and fully operator-theoretic resolution of the quantum measurement problem. Including collapse, the Born rule, the uniqueness of outcomes, and the irrelevance of observersm derived entirely from a universal structural principle called the lawhood identity. Rather than adding new physics, modifying the Schrödinger equation, introducing hidden variables, invoking many-worlds branching, or appealing to consciousness, this work shows that quantum measurement is a direct, unavoidable consequence of a general fixed-point law that applies to all stable physical systems. When instantiated for quantum mechanics, this law forces every genuine superposition to fail the criteria for being a physically lawful state. Collapse is not an extra postulate: it is structurally mandatory. Key results include: • The No-Superposition Theorem: All superpositions are proven to be structurally unlawful; they cannot survive the measurement map.• Mandatory Collapse: Collapse emerges automatically from the composition of three physical operators (boundary, decoherence, and closure), without modifying quantum dynamics.• Derivation of the Born Rule: The familiar probabilities arise uniquely from the internal consistency of the measurement operators. No additional assumptions, decision theory, or symmetry arguments are required.• Observer Independence: Awareness and measurement are formally separated. Collapse is a physical, observer-independent process; knowledge acquisition is epistemic, not causal.• Uniqueness of Outcomes: The framework proves that there is only one stable classical outcome for any initial quantum state, directly resolving the many-worlds branching issue.• Experimental Signatures: The formulation predicts measurable relationships involving entropy, decoherence rates, and effective dimensionality. This paper shows that the puzzles of quantum collapse, superposition, outcome selection, probability, and the apparent role of observers, are not mysteries requiring new interpretations. They are the natural consequences of a deeper structural principle that governs all lawful physical systems. Quantum mechanics, under this lens, becomes a specific case of a universal operator identity that determines which states can persist as stable reality. Readers will find a complete, logically self-contained argument, with theorems and proofs written in a way that does not rely on philosophical interpretation or speculative assumptions. The result is a clear and testable framework that resolves a problem that has persisted since the birth of quantum theory. This work is part of a broader research program developing the universal Tier-0 lawhood framework and the “Everything Equation,” which unifies stability, collapse, and fixed-point structure across physics, computation, thermodynamics, and information. Relation to Tier-1 dynamical formulation: This work develops a law-level (structural) resolution of quantum measurement. A complementary Tier-1 dynamical realization of these structural principles, formulated entirely within a constrained operator framework and independent of law-level recursion language, is developed in: J. Rodgers, Saturation Geometry and the Structural Emergence of Measurement and the Born Rule in a Capacity-Constrained Dirac–Λ System, Zenodo (2026).https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18704783 The Tier-1 formulation may be read independently and provides a concrete operator-theoretic instantiation of the structural mechanisms discussed here.
The "preferred-basis problem" — why does measurement produce definite outcomes in this basis rather than another — is treated in opposite ways by the interpretations of quantum mechanics: posited ab initio (spontaneous collapse), drawn from a contingent environment (decoherence), left to the choice of a framework (decoherent histories), avoided (many-worlds, pilot wave). We show that in the Time–Actualization ontology — where measurement is an instance of the universal process of actualizing quantum potentialities into events — the preferred basis is anchored in the causal past of the event, together with a readiness condition: which events that past has made ready to actualize. TA does not introduce a new selection mechanism: it identifies the environment of einselection with the already-actualized causal past — an environment that is not posited outside the formalism (unlike an external classical apparatus), but is part of the same substrate. The causal location of this environment is foliation-independent; its monitoring content depends on the couplings, not on the bare order alone. Covariance of the associated operations requires the locality hypotheses stated below. The uniqueness of outcomes is posited, not explained. Born's rule remains imported, and empirical equivalence with quantum mechanics on the causal-set substrate is a requirement still to be verified for a complete dynamics. The contribution is ontological and local to the preferred-basis question. A symmetric downstream mechanism — the redundant proliferation of the outcome into the causal future (quantum Darwinism) — in addition accounts for the inter-observer objectivity of the actualized fact, without deriving it.

Modal Actualism offers a realist, non-Everettian interpretation of quantum mechanics that preserves unitary dynamics while explaining definite outcomes without invoking collapse or branching. The central distinction is between modal structure—the full set of decoherent histories physically supported by the universal wavefunction—and actuality, the single decoherent history that is realised. Decoherence partitions modal structure into quasiclassical trajectories, but only one such trajectory constitutes the actual worldline. Probability is interpreted as modal measure: a structural feature of the wavefunction that quantifies the weight of possible histories without implying their actuality. This framework dissolves foundational paradoxes by blocking the inference from modal multiplicity to ontological multiplicity, thereby avoiding Everettian inflation while retaining the explanatory power of decoherence. Modal Actualism reconciles quantum correlations with relativistic locality and reframes cosmological fine-tuning as a feature of modal structure rather than evidence for multiverse ensembles
This paper constructs a logically self-consistent emergent structural frameworkfor the Many-Worlds Interpretation (MWI) based on decoherence theory, quantum information geometry, and self-referential dynamics. Within this framework,a ”world” is rigorously defined as a quasi-classical branch formed in Hilbert spacethrough environmental decoherence and information-geometric boundaries. Its independence is quantitatively characterized by the branch separation degree Dab defined by the quantum relative entropy between branches. When Dab exceeds a critical value Dc determined jointly by the energy scale of environmental fluctuationsand the decoherence time, the branches separate irreversibly in the informationgeometric sense, constituting independent ”worlds”. Furthermore, by introducingthe concept of a self-consistent observer, this paper demonstrates the dynamic selection mechanism of cosmological laws within the string theory landscape: only thosevacuum branches that can support self-consistent observers (satisfying conditionssuch as the memory decoherence time being much greater than the cognitive operation time) have their wavefunction weights effectively preserved during evolution, thereby acquiring physical reality. Finally, combining Zurek’s envariance argumentwith the requirement of observer memory stability, we show that the Born ruleP(i) = |⟨i|ψ⟩|2 is not an additional assumption but a necessary consequence forthe stable existence of self-consistent observers. This framework provides an operational mathematical foundation for the many-worlds interpretation, transforms theanthropic principle into a dynamic selection problem, and offers an explanation forthe origin of probability based on quantum information principles.
