Abstract

Értekezésemben különböző kvantumelméleti modelleket tárgyaltam a funkcionális renormálásicsoport-módszer (RG-módszer) segítségével. A kvantált anharmonikus oszcillátor esetén a renormálási séma optimalizálásnak kérdését tanulmányoztam. Lokális potenciál közelítésben a legkisebb érzékenység elve a Litim-regulátortól kissé eltérő optimális regulátort szolgáltatott. A Caldeira–Leggett-modellben meghatároztam a szuszceptibilitás és a korrelációshossz kritikus exponensét a spektrálfüggvény Drude- és Debye-típusú levágása esetén. Azt tapasztaltam, hogy a két fajta levágás a kritikus exponensek meghatározása szempontjából egyenértékűnek tekinthető. A kétdimenziós sine-Gordon-modellt impulzusfüggő hullámfüggvény-renormálás alkalmazásával tárgyaltam. I discussed different quantum theoretical models in the framework of the functional renormalization group (RG) method in my PhD thesis. For the quantized anharmonic oscillator the question of the optimization of the renormalization scheme was investigated. I obtained that in local potential approximation the principle of minimal sensitivity leads to such regulator which is a slight modification of the Litim one. I also investigated the Caldeira-Leggett model. I considered Drude and Debye type cutoff functions and I calculated critical exponents of the susceptibility and the correlation length. I found the two types of cutoff functions to be coequal from the viewpoint of the critical exponents. The 2-dimensional sine-Gordon model with wave function renormalization inculding higher order terms in the momentum was analyzed. The model can have different ultraviolet scaling behaviour depending on the initial conditions, so the model can cease to be asymptotically safe. Considering the leading term of the wave function renormalization there is a dual correspondence between the low and the high energy scalings of the model. The bosonized model of the two dimensional quantum chromodynamics with one fermion flavour has been investigated too. The ground state of classical model is determined and found to be flat. Using the RG method it can be shown that the model has a single phase.

A funkcionális renormálási csoport (FRG) módszer keretében végeztem kutatást.

Korrelációs függvények és véges méret effektusok kétdimenziós kvantumtérelméletekben = Correlation functions and finite size effects in two-dimensional quantum field theories

G. Takács

Nemintegrálható modellek: szisztematikus elméleti keretet adtunk nemintegrálható modellek effektív potenciáljának és szoliton spektrumának kvalitatív leírására. Ezen felül sikerült az ún. form faktor perturbációszámítást magasabb rendekre kiterjeszteni, a véges térfogatú FF formalizmus segítségével. Véges térfogatú form faktorok: a formalizmust kiterjesztettük általános (nemdiagonális szórású) integrálható modellekre. | Nonintegrable theory: we developed a systematic framework for a qualitative description of the effective potentials and soliton spectra in nonintegrable modells. Using the finite volume FF formalism, we extended the form factor perturbation theory to higher orders. Finite volume form factors: the formalism has been extended to general integrable models with nondiagonal scattering. We described the leading exponential corrections, and demonstrated its effect on numerical determination of matrix elements. We gave a systematic method to determine the position dependence of the expectation value of local operators using the finite volume form factor formalism. Boundary form factors: we determined the breather form factors in the boundary sine-Gordon modell, and numerically verified the bootstrap predictions. Thermal correlators: we constructed the systematic expansion, that was the central aim of the project, and verified it using partly numerical, partly analytic methods. Boundary entropy: following a line different from the original plan, we gave an effective method for its evaluation, in addition, this method also works for the excited states. Using the TBA method, the Leclair-Bassi S matrix conjecture for the OSp(2|2) Gross-Neveu model was verified, and a duality with the SO(4) model found. It was also shown, that the S matrix proposed for the random bond Ising modell by Cabra et al. cannot be correct.

Functional renormalization group for ordinary and ghost O(N) models, with higher order gradient term

Rendezetlen rendszerek statisztikus fizikája = Statistical physics of disordered systems

Ferenc Iglói, Róbert Juhász

A pályázat keretében nagy szabadsági fokú fizikai rendszerek kooperatív viselkedését vizsgáltuk rendezetlenség jelenlétében. | Within the project the cooperative behavior of physical systems with large degree of freedom is studied in the presence of disorder. We have determined the properties of singularities (phase transitions, Griffiths effects) and studied both equilibrium and nonequilibrium processes. For disordered quantum systems we have continued our studies on the use of the strong disorder renormalization group method to obtain the phase diagram and low energy excitations of different one- and two-dimensional systems. We have also obtained new results about entanglement of quantum systems and the related von Neumann entropy. For nonequilibrium systems we have studied ageing during nonequilibrium critical relaxation, as well as driven lattice gas systems in the presence of disorder. Finally, in the third field of disorder dominated classical systems we have studied phase transitions and the related geometrical problems of clusters. Our results obtained during this project have been published in 29 papers in international journals and for these we have already obtained more than 130 citations. During the project 1 PhD dissertation has been succesfully defended and two others are submitted for defence.
