Abstract

This study investigates the entanglement and squeezing characteristics of light generated by a non-degenerate, three-level laser with a non-degenerate parametric amplifier, which is pumped by electron bombardment to the top level and coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoir through a single-port mirror. By normal ordering the noise operators, we simplified the calculations and derived the evolution equations for the atomic operators using the master equation. From the steady-state solutions, we determined the average of the photon number, the quadrature variance of radiation, entanglement, the normalized second-order correlation of the cavity radiation, and fluctuations in intensity difference. Our findings indicate that higher spontaneous emission rates significantly decrease the average photon number, while the amplitude of the pumping mode interacting with the parametric amplifier ( ɛ ) increases it. Enhanced squeezing is observed with increasing ( ɛ ), reaching a peak at ɛ = 0 . 02 ( 78 . 5 % ) . Moreover, spontaneous emission enhances squeezing for some interval of r a . A direct correlation between quadrature squeezing and entanglement is found, with greater quadrature squeezing associated with increased entanglement. This research offers potential advancements in quantum technologies, such as quantum communication, computing, and sensing, where controlled squeezing and entanglement are crucial for improving performance.

Entanglement amplification by three-level laser coupled to vacuum reservoir

Menisha Alemu, Tolessa, Fekadu, Birke Alemu

In this paper we have studied the squeezing and entanglement properties of the cavity light generated by a three-level laser. In this quantum optical system, N three-level atoms available in an open cavity, coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoir, are pumped to the top level by means of electron bombardment at constant rate. Applying the solutions of the equations of evolution for the expectation values of the atomic operators and the quantum Langevin equations for the cavity mode operators, we have calculated the mean, variance of the photon number, the quadrature squeezing, entanglement amplification as well as the normalized second-order correlation function for the cavity light. In addition, we have shown that the presence of the spontaneous emission process leads to a decrease in the mean and variance of the photon number. We have observed that the two-mode cavity light is in a squeezed state and the squeezing occurs in the minus quadrature. In addition, we have found that the effect of the vacuum reservoir noise is to increase the photon-number variance and to decrease the quadrature squeezing of the cavity light. However, the vacuum reservoir noise does not have any effect on the mean photon number. Moreover, the maximum quadrature squeezing of the light generated by the laser, operating far below threshold, is found to be below the vacuum-state level. In addition, our result indicates that the quadrature squeezing is greater for than that for for 0.01 < < 0.35 and is smaller for than that for for 0.35 < < 1. We have also noted that the squeezing and entanglement in the two-mode light are directly related. As a result, an increase in the degree of squeezing directly leads to an increase in the degree of entanglement and vice versa. This shows that, whenever there is squeezing in the two-mode light, there exists an entanglement in the system.

In this paper we have studied the statistical and squeezing properties of the cavity light generated by a three-level laser. In this quantum optical system, N three-level atoms available in an open cavity, coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoir, are pumped to the top level by means of electron bombardment at constant rate. We have considered the case in which the three-level atoms and the cavity modes interact with the two-mode vacuum reservoir. Applying the solutions of the equations of evolution for the expectation values of the atomic operators and the quantum Langevin equations for the cavity mode operators, we have calculated the mean and variance of the photon number as well as the quadrature squeezing for the cavity light. However, the vacuum reservoir noise does not have any effect on the mean photon number. Moreover, the maximum quadrature squeezing of the light generated by the laser, operating far below threshold, is found to be 37.5% below the vacuum-state level. In addition, our result indicates that the quadrature squeezing is greater for γ=0 than that for γ=0.4 for 0.01 < ra < 0.35 and is smaller for γ=0 than that for γ=0.4 for 0.35 < ra < 1.

We have considered the case in which the three-level atoms and the cavity modes interact with the two-mode vacuum reservoir. We have observed that the two-mode cavity light is in a squeezed state and the squeezing occurs in the minus quadrature. The maximum quadrature squeezing of the light generated by the laser, operating far below threshold, is found to be 50% below the vacuum-state level. We have also established that the mean photon number in the presence of spontaneous emission is less than the absence of spontaneous emission.

The Effect of Parametric Amplifier on Entanglement and Statistical Properties of Nondegenerate Three-Level Laser Pumped by Electron Bombardment

Tamirat Abebe

In this paper, the quantum properties of an electrically pumped non-degenerate three level laser with two mode subharmonic generator coupled to a two-mode vacuum reservoirs via a single-port mirror whose open cavity contains N non-degenerate three-level cascade atoms is presented. The analysis is carried out by putting the noise operators associated with a vacuum reservoir in normal order. It is found that the photons as well as atoms of the system are strongly entangled at steady state. It has been shown that the degree of photon entanglement greater than that of atom entanglement. Moreover, the presence of the subharmonic generator leads to an increase in the degree of entanglement.

Generation of Bright and Entangled Light from a Nondegenerate Three-Level Laser with Parametric Amplifier and Coupled to Thermal Reservoir

Tamirat Abebe, Chimdessa Gashu Feyisa, Ebisa Mosisa

The detailed analysis of the two-mode quadrature squeezing and statistical properties of light generated by a nondegenerate three-level laser which has a parametric amplifier and coupled with a thermal reservoir is executed. The combination of the master equation and the stochastic differential equation is presented to study the nonclassical features of the light generated by the quantum system. Moreover, with the aid the resulting solutions together with the correlation properties of noise operators, we calculated the quadrature squeezing, entanglement, and mean number of photon pairs of the cavity light. It is found that the external small-amplitude driving radiation induces a strong correlation between the top and bottom states of three-level atoms to produce a high degree of squeezing. Moreover, the presence of a parametric amplifier is found to enhance the degree of squeezing of the cavity light. We have also established that an increase in the mean thermal photon number appears to degrade the squeezing, but enhances the mean number of photon pairs of the cavity light.

Entanglement Correlation from a Non-degenerate Three-Level Laser with a Parametric Amplifier and Coupled to Vacuum Reservoir

Negasa Belay, Edobus Mosisa, Chali Edosa

The quantum properties of a non-degenerate three-level laser with the parametric amplifier and coupled to a thermal reservoir are thoroughly analyzed with the use of the pertinent master equation and stochastic differential equations associated with the normal ordering. Applying solutions of resulting differential equations, quadrature variance, the mean and variance of photon number, the photon number correlation are calculated. However, the two-mode driving light has no effect on the squeezing properties of the cavity modes. Employing the same solutions, one can also obtain anti normally ordered characteristic function defined in the Heisenberg picture. For a linear gain coefficient of (A = 100), for a cavity damping constant of K= 0:8, μ = 0.16 and for thermal reservoir nth = 0, the maximum intra cavity photon entanglement is found at steady state and at threshold to be 70%.
