Enhanced Entanglement of Two Atoms Confined in a Multimode Optical Cavity

Abstract

A numerical calculation of entanglement dynamics between two nonresonant atoms interacting with a multimode optical cavity field has shown that the field enhances the degree of entanglement between the two atoms. Using the position of one atom of the pair as a controlling parameter, entanglement dynamics is analyzed in terms of the entanglement of formation, making a comparison with the dynamics in a single-mode cavity field. It is shown that the degree of entanglement of the present system is enhanced by the usage of multimode cavity and by positioning the atom closely at the node of the field mode.

Controlling the entanglement of a Λ-type atom in a bimodal cavity via atomic motion

Mahnaz Ghorbani, Hassan Safari, Mohammad Javad Faghihi

In this paper, a model describing the interaction between a moving three-level atom and a two-mode cavity field with nondegenerate two-photon transitions is considered in the presence of intensity-dependent coupling and detuning parameters. In order to evaluate entanglement between subsystems, the exact time dependence of the state vector of the overall system is obtained. After studying the dynamics of the atom by considering atomic population inversion, entanglement of formation as a suitable measure of entanglement degree is discussed in detail. It is deduced from the numerical results that the domain and the maximum amount of the degree of entanglement can be suitably controlled by appropriately choosing the intensity-dependent nonlinearity function, the field-mode structure parameters, and detuning.

Study of atomic entanglement in multimode cavity optics

Saha, P., N. Nayak, A. S. Majumdar

The resonant interaction between two two-level atoms and m- electromagnetic modes in a cavity is considered. Entanglement dynamics between two atoms is examined. In particular we compare dynamical variations for different cavity modes as well as for different cavity photon numbers. The collapse and revival of entanglement is exhibited by varying the atom-photon interaction times.

Entanglement for two qubits induced by one-mode thermal field in the presence of the atomic coherence

Eugene K. Bashkirov, Башкиров Е. К, Michail S. Mastyugin +1 more

In the prresent paper we have considered the influence of the initial atomic coherence on entanglement dynamics of two qubits one of which is trapped in a lossless cavity and interacts with single-mode thermal field, and the other one can be spatially moved freely outside the cavity. We have shown that the atomic coherence in the model under the consideration can be used for effective control on the degree of the entanglement of qubits.

The entanglement dynamics of two entangled atoms in the dissipative cavity

Chunlei Jiang, Mao-Fa Fang, Wu Zhen-Zhen +1 more

In this paper, we investigate the entanglement dynamics of two entangled two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode field in a dissipative cavity. The results show that the evolution properties of the entanglement degree of two entangled atoms depend on the initial atomic entanglement degree and form, the average photon number of the cavity field, and the cavity leakage rate. When the atoms are initially in a particular entangled state, the degree of entanglement can be amplified and not influenced by the dissipation of the cavity field.

Entanglement dynamics between a pair of two-level atoms and cavity fields connected by an optical fiber

Sayed Ali Sina Musavi

In this study, we theoretically investigate a system composed of two isolated two-level atoms, each confined within an independent single-mode optical cavity. The cavities are coherently coupled via an optical fiber, enabling photon-mediated interaction between the two subsystems. Each cavity sustains a single-mode quantized electromagnetic field, and each atom couples exclusively to the field within its respective cavity. We analyze the time dependent entanglement dynamics, exploring both atom-atom and cavity-field bipartite entanglement under this hybrid interaction framework. To quantify entanglement, we employ concurrence as the measurement metric. The effects of the atoms' initial states and the optical fiber’s coupling strength on both atom-atom and field-field entanglement are analyzed. Numerical results reveal that when the coupling strength of the optical fiber is close to zero, no entanglement is observed between either the atoms or the fields. However, as the fiber coupling strength increases, entanglement emerges and exhibits collapse and revival behavior over time.

The property of the optical field interacting with entangled atoms

Shu-Dong Fang

The property of the optical field interacting with two identical entangled atoms is investigated, where the interaction between atoms and cavity mode is a highly detuned one. The effect of the system parameters on the property of the optical field is discussed via time evolution operators and numerical calculation. The result shows that, in this highly detuned system, the optical field cannot manifest squeezing effect under any system parameter.
