Rb. Polarization-based energy-time entanglement (output) under multiple polarized dressings is presented in detail with uncorrelated photons and Raman scattering suppressed. High-dimensional entanglement is contrived by passive non-Hermitian characteristic, and EWM-based quadphoton is genuine quadphoton with quadripartite entanglement. High quadphoton production rate is achieved from co-action of four strong input fields, and electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) slow light effect. Atomic passive non-Hermitian characteristic provides the system with acute coherent tunability around exceptional points (EPs). The results unveil multiple coherent channels (~8) inducing oscillations with multiple periods (~19) in quantum correlations, and high-dimensional (~8) four-body entangled quantum network (capacity ~65536). Coexistent hyper and high-dimensional entanglements facilitate high quantum information capacity. The system can be converted among three working states under regulating passive non-Hermitian characteristic via triple polarized dressing. The research provides a promising approach for applying hyper-entangled multiphoton to tunable quantum networks with high information capacity, whose multi-partite entanglement and multiple-degree-of-freedom properties help optimize the accuracy of quantum sensors.

Multipartite entanglement has emerged as a valuable quantum resource for constructing large-scale quantum networks. However, the presence of non-Hermitian features induced by natural microscopic quantum systems significantly modifies the overall response of nonlinear parametric processes, thereby enabling direct manipulation of multipartite entanglement properties. In this study, we demonstrate the generation of multimode entanglement through atomic four-wave mixing (FWM) and analyze the properties of exceptional points (EP) under dressing control in non-Hermitian systems. By leveraging dressing-controlled atomic nonlinearity, we achieve versatile EPs and higher-order EPs by carefully tuning the atomic multi-parameter in the cascading FWM system. Additionally, we investigate the entanglement properties of various permutations of the output signal modes using the positive partial transpose (PPT) criterion. Notably, under non-Hermitian control, the application of single-, double-, and N-dressing splits leads to coherent multichannel control and further extends the scale of quantum entanglement. The outcomes of our research offer a novel approach to actively control non-Hermitian quantum phenomena without relying on artificial photonic structures. Furthermore, this paves the way for the realization of complex quantum information tasks by exploiting the non-Hermitian characteristics of the light-matter interaction.
Abstract Nonclassical multiphoton have attracted extensive attention to serve as entangled resources for quantum information technology. Here, the continuous‐mode hyper‐entangled W‐class triphotons are theoretically generated through spontaneous six‐wave mixing (SSWM) in 85Rb. In nonlinear optical response, Zeeman sub‐states are high‐dimensionally quantized by polarized dressing. High‐dimensional entanglement is structured via atomic non‐Hermitian nature. Through linear optical response, the temporal correlations are shaped via diverse polarized dressing. SSWM‐based triphoton is a genuine triphoton possessing non‐Gaussian tripartite entanglement. The high production rate is due to co‐action of three strong input fields, electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) protection, and slow light effect. Non‐Hermitian nature endows the system with sensitive adjustability around exceptional points (EP). Eventually, the results demonstrate multiple SSWMs causing oscillations with multiple periods in three‐photon temporal correlations for the nonlinear region, build a high‐dimensional three‐body entangled quantum network and transform multifarious profiles of the three‐photon temporal correlations for the linear region. Especially, both high‐dimensional and hyper entanglements are obtained, contributing to high quantum information capacity. Further, the system is switched among multiple states when non‐Hermitian nature is manipulated by polarized dressing. The research opens a broad prospect for generating the hyper‐entangled multiphoton with potential application in adjustable quantum networks of high information capacity.
The fifth-order nonlinear polarizability has been extensively studied in the field of quantum communication due to its ease of manipulation. By adjusting the relative size of the Rabi frequency and dephasing rate of the dressing field, natural non-Hermitian exceptional points can be generated, and further evolution can be achieved by varying the types of dressing fields. However, as the demand for information capacity in quantum communication continues to increase, research on the higher-order seventh-order nonlinear polarizability, based on four-photon states, and the number of coherent channels and resonance positions has gradually come to the forefront. This paper focuses on the simultaneous generation of a seventh-order nonlinear polarizability through a spontaneous eight-wave mixing (SEWM) process in an atomic medium involving four photons. Compared to the fifth-order nonlinear polarizability, the seventh-order polarizability shows an exponential increase in coherent channels and resonance positions due to its strong dressing effect. Additionally, the interaction between the four photons is stronger than that between three photons, making it possible for even the difficult-to-dress eigenvalues to be influenced by the dressing field and dephasing rate, resulting in more complex coherent channels. These are manifested as more complex, damped Rabi oscillations, with periods that can be controlled by the dressing field. These findings may contribute to a promising new method for quantum communication.
Abstract Non-Hermitian degeneracies, also known as exceptional points, have recently emerged as a new way to engineer the response of open physical systems, we construct non-Hermitian systems through atomic electromagnetically induced transparency structures, based on which we study energy-level high-dimensional quantized photon correlations under dressing field induced parity-time (PT) symmetry and symmetry breaking. We study the symmetry breaking through exceptional point (EP) control in dressing-controlled energy-level process is natural EP, which are born to be non-Hermitian without artificial photonic structures. When the dressing Rabi frequency (de-phase rate) dominates, the real part (imaginary part) splits, and leads to in-phase (out-of-phase) constructive (destructive) dressing quantization. It can also be used to develop atomic-like symmetry-breaking photonic chips and pseudo-spin devices in the future.
Hyper-entanglement, i.e. entanglement in more than one degree of freedom, enables a multiplicative increase in Hilbert space size. Such systems can be treated as multi-partite even though the number of state particles is not increased, making them highly attractive for applications in high-capacity quantum communications and information processing [1]. Until now, such states have been realized only using combinations of fully independent degrees of freedom, described by commuting operators, such as polarization and optical paths. Time and frequency, in turn, are linked and described by non-commuting operators. Here, using two discrete forms of energy-time entanglement we demonstrate that time and frequency can be used for genuine multi-partite hyper-entangled states [2]. This is achieved by increasing the time-frequency product to far exceed the Heisenberg uncertainty limit, effectively making the time and frequency degrees independent.
Research on entangled multipartite systems with controllable wave functions has attracted significant interest in the field of quantum optics. For quantum communications and quantum information processing, linear and nonlinear optical susceptibilities govern high-order correlations and entangled multiple-photon resources. In single- and double-dressing quadphoton correlations, we have observed the evolution of linear and nonlinear optical responses in the group delay and Rabi oscillation regimes. In the group delay regime, when linear susceptibility is evident, the quadphoton coincidence counting rate exhibits a rectangular profile. In the Rabi oscillation regime, the enhanced nonlinear susceptibility induced by strong laser dressing effects control quadphoton wave packets based on damped Rabi oscillation. Additionally, at different delay times, some photons exist in the group delay regimes, while others exist in the Rabi oscillation regimes, suggesting a coexistence mechanism. Additionally, there is a transition regime in which a portion of the photons are in both the group delay and Rabi oscillation regimes. By varying the power of the dressing field and optical depth, we realized the evolution between these two regimes for entangled quadphotons. Additionally, we demonstrate the shortening of coherence times under double-dressing conditions compared to single-dressing conditions. These results can help improving the length of coherence time and information capacity, which have great significance for the future development of long-distance and long coherent time quantum communication and quantum storage.
