Abstract

The relationship between the principles of statistical physics and quantum game theories is an important object of interdisciplinary research aimed at studying the behavior of complex systems. The interaction of these areas of science expands our knowledge of correlations, dynamics, and optimization in multicomponent systems. The present study focuses on the study of the fundamental relationships between these approaches and their application to modeling complex systems. For this study, we developed a theoretical model that connects the key equations of statistical physics with the principles of quantum game theory. We used standard mathematical modeling methods, such as calculations based on Gibbs distributions, quantum superposition, and game theory methods adapted for multicomponent systems. The numerical Monte Carlo method was also used to test theoretical conclusions. It was found that the mechanisms describing equilibrium and phase transitions in statistical physics are closely related to the formation of strategies and optimization in the framework of quantum games. In particular, it is shown that quantum entangled states can be interpreted as analogs of collective states in statistical physics, which makes it possible to clarify the theoretical limits of price and behavioral decisions in nonlinear systems. The results are confirmed by numerical experiments demonstrating a high degree of agreement between the models and empirical data. The results obtained open up new perspectives for studying complex systems using combined approaches. The possibility of using quantum games to describe collective behavior in physical systems, such as particle dynamics in open systems or neural networks, is revealed. This study provides an understanding of the principles of interaction between statistical physics and quantum game theory, which contributes to the further development of interdisciplinary science and the application of its conclusions to real problems.

Quantum Games and the Relationships between Quantum Mechanics and Game Theory

Esteban Guevara Hidalgo

Quantum games have proposed a new point of view for the solution of the classical problems and dilemmas in game theory. Certain quantization relationships can be proposed with the objective that a game can be generalized into a quantum domain where the linear superposition of actions is allowed. This quantization let us describe and solution problems originated by conflicting or cooperative behaviors among the members of a system from the point of view of quantum mechanical interactions. This leads us to interesting aspects which only can be observed through the quantization of a game like the possibility of the entanglement between players, the definition of a socioeconomical temperature in a system, the collective welfare principle, the analysis of a game through elements of quantum information theory and the globalization process. The relationships between quantum mechanics and game theory are also studied and its shown how although both systems analyzed are described through two theories apparently different (quantum mechanics and game theory) both are analogous and thus exactly equivalents.

On the possibility of using the NNQS for the Klein–Gordon–Fock equation

A. M. Kalitenko, P. I. Pronin

In this article, we present a method for finding quantum stationary states of the Klein–Gordon–Fock (KGF) equation using neural networks (NNs). The method has been tested on two well-known systems: a relativistic spinless particle in a Coulomb potential, and a one-dimensional relativistic harmonic oscillator. The results of training the neural network for these two systems are presented, as well as the analysis of the training process. The neural network method shows a good agreement with analytical calculations (if they can be found explicitly), providing a promising approach for solving more complex problems in quantum physics and quantum chemistry.

D Orrell

Financial markets are often modeled using a random walk, for example in the binomial option pricing model which is a discrete version of the Black-Scholes formula. This paper presents an alternative approach to option pricing based on a quantum walk model. The quantum walk, which incorporates superposition states and allows for effects such as interference, was originally developed in physics, but has also seen application in areas such as cognitive psychology, where it is used to model dynamic decision-making processes. It is shown here that the quantum walk model captures key aspects of investor behavior, while the collapsed state captures the observed behavior of markets. The resulting option price model agrees quite closely with the classical random walk model but helps to explain features such as the observed dependence of price on time to maturity. The method also has the advantage that it can be run directly on a quantum computer.

Quantum Econophysics

Esteban Guevara Hidalgo

The relationships between game theory and quantum mechanics let us propose certain quantization relationships through which we could describe and understand not only quantum but also classical, evolutionary and the biological systems that were described before through the replicator dynamics. Quantum mechanics could be used to explain more correctly biological and economical processes and even it could encloses theories like games and evolutionary dynamics. This could make quantum mechanics a more general theory that we had thought. Although both systems analyzed are described through two apparently different theories (quantum mechanics and game theory) it is shown that both systems are analogous and thus exactly equivalents. So, we can take some concepts and definitions from quantum mechanics and physics for the best understanding of the behavior of economics and biology. Also, we could maybe understand nature like a game in where its players compete for a common welfare and the equilibrium of the system that they are members.

Quantum Game Theory

Huilin Zhao

Since the establishment of von Neumann and Nash's concept of equilibrium, game theory has become a universal language in economics and social sciences. However, classical game theory is deeply rooted in the mechanistic worldview, and its deterministic assumptions, static equilibrium, and individualistic methodology are becoming increasingly inadequate in explaining the emergence of cooperation, uncertainty, and complex social interactions. This book directly faces this dilemma and introduces the core concepts of quantum mechanics into game analysis, constructing a complete system of quantum game theory. Starting from the century long evolution of game theory, the entire book deeply criticizes the mechanistic nature of classical game theory, and re establishes the philosophical foundation of game theory through practical ontology. On this basis, this book proposes the hypothesis of a "quantum gamer" and constructs a complete analytical framework from superposition strategy space, quantum entanglement to measurement collapse. The system reconstructs core areas such as quantum zero sum games, quantum non-zero sum games, quantum prisoner's dilemma, quantum coordination games, quantum evolutionary games, quantum cooperative games, and quantum incomplete information games, and extends them to cutting-edge directions such as quantum repetitive games, quantum game learning, and quantum mechanism design. At the application level, this book comprehensively demonstrates the broad prospects of quantum game theory in fields such as economics, political science, sociology, biology, computer science, quantum computing, artificial intelligence, and ethics. This book emphasizes that quantum entanglement enables cooperation to emerge, and quantum measurement leads equilibrium from static to dynamic collapse, thus surpassing the explanatory boundaries of classical game theory. The book has a rigorous structure and in-depth arguments, combining theoretical originality with interdisciplinary perspectives, providing a groundbreaking work for researchers, graduate students, and cutting-edge explorers to understand the quantum game revolution.

The paper considers the algorithm of error back propagation adapted for quantum neural networks. The main attention is paid to the development and modification of the traditional method of error back propagation for its application in conditions of quantum nature of data. Theoretical aspects related to quantum states, superposition and entanglement, as well as their influence on the efficiency and correctness of training of quantum networks are analyzed. The relevance of the mathematical algorithm, including the use of density matrices and quantum operators to describe and optimize the network parameters, is substantiated. Experimental modeling of the proposed approach on quantum data sets is carried out, which showed high accuracy and stability of the proposed method. The limitations of the algorithm related to noise in quantum systems and computational costs with increasing number of qubits are discussed. The results demonstrate the potential of the developed algorithm for optimization and training of quantum models, which opens new perspectives for further development of quantum machine learning and creation of hybrid classical-quantum algorithms.
