About the role of JSC “Russian Railways” in the development of quantum communications of the Russian Federation

Mikhail A. Paschenko, Elena A. Rusakova

The problem of protecting the transmitted information from an unauthorized access appeared together with the first telephone communication lines, but it became especially urgent with the development of modern electronic means of communication and universal digitalization. One of the ways to ensure secure data transmission is the use of quantum communications technology. The paper considers the stages of development of quantum communications and analyzes the role of JSC “Russian Railways” in this process.

Prospects for Legal Regulation of Quantum Communication

Aleksey Minbaleev, Sergey Zenin, К. С. Евсиков

The leading countries across the world have entered the race to develop quantum technologies that will enable them to ensure their continued economic prosperity. Among these technologies, a special place is occupied by quantum communication, which is designed to ensure information security in an era where a quantum computer is capable of compromising a number of cryptography algorithms. In this article, this new digital technology includes quantum key distribution and encryption methods that are cryptographically resistant to a quantum computer. The study does not consider the regulation of the quantum communication sub-technology, the so-called “quantum internet,” due to the technical limitations of the existing equipment. The authors note that their predictions about the cryptographic strength of encryption algorithms are based solely on modern knowledge about the capabilities of quantum computing and do not take into account its hidden potential, for example, in terms of cryptanalysis information systems based on a machine learning model generated by a quantum computer. Currently, the only data protection system that is not subject to quantum threats is the technology of quantum key distribution. In today’s information and digital age, information security systems are an important element of critical infrastructure. Given the importance of these technologies, different states use different methods to regulate this field. This article puts forward and substantiates the hypothesis that the implementation of a combination of regulatory legal acts could have a greater positive impact on the development of quantum communication and ensure an acceptable level of information security in the post-quantum era. The analysis showed that a significant number of states and interstate associations are conducting research in this area, relying only on investment growth. This strategy has prevented any country from achieving the competencies of the People’s Republic of China. The authors also analyzed the methods of legal support used by China, Russia, and other countries in the field of quantum communication, which made it possible to identify a model of legal regulation of quantum communication that stimulates this technology’s development.

THE CONCEPT OF QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY TO ENSURE SECURE DATA TRANSMISSION

The article is devoted to the study of quantum cryptography methods and their application in modern communication systems in order to ensure the security of secret data transmission. Such methods can include quantum key distribution, quantum cryptography on continuous variables, quantum networks, quantum digital signing and quantum secret sharing. The main protocols of these methods, the steps and results of their application, as well as advantages, such as the impossibility of interception of keys, detection of interception attempts, a large volume of transmitted information, a high level of security, the use of quantum phenomena, the impossibility of forgery, a guarantee of message integrity, multi-party security are considered. The study includes an analysis of quantum cryptography methods, as well as consideration of the possibilities of applying these methods to ensure the security of confidential information transmission.

Quantum Cryptology in the Big Data Security Era

Chaymae Majdoubi, Saida El Mendili, Youssef Gahi

Quantum cryptography, based on the principles of quantum mechanics, has emerged as a cutting-edge domain for cryptographic applications. A prime example is quantum key distribution, offering a theoretically secure information solution to the key exchange challenge. The inherent strength of quantum cryptography lies in its ability to accomplish cryptographic tasks deemed insurmountable through classical communication alone. This paper explores the landscape of quantum computing in the Big Data Era, drawing parallels with classical methodologies. It illuminates the constraints of current approaches and suggests avenues for progress. By unravelling the intricacies of quantum cryptography and highlighting its deviations from classical counterparts, this study enriches the ongoing discourse on secure communication protocols. The findings underscore the significance of quantum cryptographic methods, fueling further exploration and development in this dynamic and promising field contributing to Data security.

Cryptography: Advances in Secure Communication and Data Protection

Melvin Victor, D David Winster Praveenraj, R Sasirekha +2 more

In the innovative work secure communication and data protection are being main field, which are emerged by cryptography as a fundamental pillar. Strong cryptographic methods are now essential given the rising reliance on digital technologies and the threats posed by bad actors. This abstract examines the evolution of secure communication protocols and data protection techniques as it relates to the advancements in cryptography. The development of post-quantum cryptography is the most notable development in cryptography discussed in this study. As quantum computers become more powerful, they pose a serious threat to traditional cryptographic algorithms, such as RSA and ECC. Designing algorithms that are immune to attacks from quantum computers is the goal of post-quantum cryptography. Lattice-based, code-based, and multivariate-based cryptography are only a few of the methods that have been investigated in this context.

DEVELOPMENT OF QUANTUM COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (QCT) IN MALAYSIA

Nurul Huda, Mustafa Mohd Hanefah, Rosnia Binti Masruki +1 more

The transfer of information from one single device to another has been more secure in recent years through to the development of quantum communication technology (QCT) in a variety of technological uses. Preparing for this new, emerging sector is important since information communication technology (ICT) in the future will certainly depend on QCT, which is built on quantum physics laws to secure the transfer of information. Future quantum technology will not only optimize computers and the internet but also change the way we communicate. This study discusses the importance and impact of QCT in the context of national security, framework, and policy. Furthermore, this paper also discusses the latest research trends of QCT in several countries including the United States, Canada, and China that Malaysia can learn from. In addition to that, this paper traces the development of QCT policy in other countries along with the existing development of security policy and framework in Malaysia. Finally, this paper discusses the importance of QCT with recommendations.
