Abstract

The object of the research is the development of a method for ensuring the authenticity and integrity of data in wireless channels based on post-quantum cryptosystems. The development of modern digital technologies ensures the transition to smart technologies and the formation of Next Generation Networks. The formation of smart technologies, as a rule, uses wireless communication channel standards IEEE 802.11X, IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 802.16, which use only authentication protocols and privacy mechanisms, which are formed on symmetric algorithms. In the conditions of the post-quantum period (the advent of a full-scale quantum computer), the stability of such algorithms is questioned. Such systems, as a rule, are formed on the basis of the synthesis of socio-cyber-physical systems and cloud technologies, which simplifies the conduct of Advanced Persistent Threat attacks, both on the internal circuit of execution systems and on external control systems. The creation of multi-circuit information protection systems allows for an objective assessment of the current state of the system as a whole and the formation of preventive measures to counter cyber threats. The proposed method of providing basic security services: confidentiality, integrity and authenticity based on crypto-code constructions takes into account the level of secrecy of information transmitted over wireless channels and/or stored in databases of socio-cyber-physical systems. The use of post-quantum algorithms – McEliece/Niederreiter crypto-code constructions on elliptic/modified elliptic/lossy/Low-density parity-check code provides the necessary level of stability in the post-quantum cryptoperiod (crypto-stability at the level of 1025–1035 group operations), speed and probability of information (Рerr not lower than 10-9–10-12). The proposed method of information exchange using wireless communication channels ensures their practical implementation on resource-limited devices (creating of CCC on the GF field (24–26).

Development of security mechanisms for scada systems in the postquantium period

О. В. Воропай, Сергій Сергійович Погасій, Olha Korol +1 more

The formation of new systems based on the synthesis of mobile Internet technologies with cyberspace significantly expands the possibilities of creating smart technologies based on mesh and sensor networks. This allows to significantly increase the speed of information transmission using modern wireless communication channels based on technology standards IEEE802.16, IEEE802.16e, IEEE802.15.4, IEEE802.11, Bluetooth 5, 6. It is possible to use SCADA automation and scheduling systems with new functions of managing information flows of various technological processes, to create new principles for building hyperphysical social systems (CPSS) – a set of subjects and objects of cybernetic, physical and social worlds that allow to form “smart” communities, on the one hand , and intellectual space on the other. However, the development of modern computer systems, the advent of full-scale quantum computers significantly impairs the security of modern security systems. According to NIST experts, a full-scale quantum computer breaks both symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems in polynomial time, which significantly reduces their stability. The goal of the work is to develop mechanisms for providing security services based on post-quantum algorithms - crypto-code constructions. To ensure security in the post-quantum period – the emergence of a full-scale quantum computer, NIST specialists suggest the use of post-quantum algorithms. Structural schemes of crypto-code constructions of McEliece and Niederreiter on algebrogeometric codes are used in the work. The paper proposes mechanisms of post-quantum cryptography, which allow to ensure the stability of not only communication channels, but also elements of the structure of the management system of SCADA systems, not only in critical infrastructure, but also in modern wireless communication channels. The basis of post-quantum encryption algorithms is the combination of algorithms (schemes) of crypto-code structures with cryptosystems on unprofitable codes (multi-channel cryptography), as well as the possibility of combining them with digital steganography methods. The developed approach provides the ability to hide elements of management commands, and the use of different channels provides the ability to hide individual elements of cryptograms. The use of post-quantum encryption algorithms provides a significant increase in the cryptographic stability of security mechanisms SCADA-systems.

SSL/TLS PROTOCOL ON POST-QUANTUM ALGORITHMS

Stanislav Milevskyi, Natalia Voropay, Olha Korol +2 more

The development of mobile technologies and their integration with Internet of Things and smart technologies form both cyber-physical and socio-cyber-physical systems. In such systems, as a rule, wireless communication channels are used, in which SSL/TLS protocols are used to provide security services (confidentiality, integrity and authenticity). However, this protocol is not only vulnerable to "Meeting in the Middle", POODLE, BEAST, CRIME, BREACH attacks, but with the advent of a full-scale quantum computer, it can be broken. The article proposes a protocol based on quantum algorithms – crypto-code constructions, which will ensure not only resistance to current attacks, but also stability in the post-quantum period. To ensure the "hybridity" of services, it is proposed to use McEliece and Niederreiter crypto-code constructions and the improved UMAC algorithm based on McEliece crypto-code design. The use of crypto-code constructions provides not only resistance to attacks, but also simplifies the formation of a connection – the parameters of elliptic curves are used for the transmission of the common key. This approach significantly reduces the time of connecting mobile gadgets and simplifies the procedure of agreement before data transfer.

Development of a protocol for a closed mobile internet channel based on post-quantum algorithms

Сергій Євсєєв, Сергій Сергійович Погасій, Vladyslav Khvostenko

The development of computing technologies has made it possible not only to expand the range of mobile communication services, but also to significantly increase computing capabilities. The emergence of mobile Internet, 4G, 5G technologies makes it possible to talk about a fundamentally different approach to ensuring the quality of service to network customers, creating fundamentally new approaches to ensuring the efficiency and reliability of transmitted information flows. However, such a rapid growth of GSM technologies without the introduction of security services leads to active actions of attackers and cyber terrorists, the emergence of new and modification of known threats. Mobile communication channels are used by cybercriminals for selfish purposes of access to database resources not only of the mobile Internet, but also to the databases of information and communication systems and networks. The article proposes a fundamentally new approach to ensuring the closure of the voice channel of the mobile Internet based on post-quantum cryptography algorithms – McEliece and Niederreiter crypto-code constructions on elliptic codes. This approach provides not only the offline mode of closing the voice channel and creating a VPN channel in tunnel mode, but also the required level of cryptographic strength in the face of the emergence of full-scale quantum computers.

MECHANISMS FOR ENSURING THE SECURITY OF CHANNELS OF A PROSPECTIVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Bogdan Tomashevsky, Serhii Yevseiev, Serhii Pohasii +1 more

The development of military (state) control systems in modern conditions of hybrid warfare requires the possibility of rapid expansion of both functionality and scaling of the physical and logical basis of management, increasing the range of digitization and use of both military and civilian communication channels to manage troops and weapons. Not only the computing power of the enemy, the means of suppressing and / or blocking the communication channels of the control system, but also the development of quantum technologies that place new and more stringent requirements on security mechanisms based on symmetric and asymmetric cryptography algorithms. According to NIST, a full-scale quantum computer breaks both symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems in polynomial time, significantly reducing their resilience. The paper proposes mechanisms of post-quantum cryptography, which allow to ensure the stability of not only communication channels, but also elements of the structure of the control system. MODEL OF DYNAMIC SELECTION OF POST-QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHIC ALGORITHMS ININFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS BASED ON INTEGRATED RISK AND EFFICIENCYASSESSMENT

Павло Складанний, Юлія Володимирівна КОСТЮК, Володимир Соколов +1 more

The article investigates the problem of ensuring cryptographic stability of information and communication systems in the conditions of increasing intensity of cyber threats and development of quantum computing, which reduces the efficiency of classical cryptographic algorithms. An analysis of modern approaches to the application of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms was conducted, which showed their predominantly static nature of use without taking into account the dynamics of changes in the operating environment, risk level and attack parameters. The need to develop adaptive mechanisms for selecting cryptographic algorithms capable of providing an appropriate level of protection in conditions of changing threats was substantiated. A model for dynamic selection of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms based on an integral assessment of efficiency and risk is proposed, which allows taking into account both the technical characteristics of the algorithms (speed, cryptographic stability, resource intensity) and the current state of system security. An integral efficiency indicator and a risk function are introduced within the model, which are formed taking into account the level of vulnerabilities, threat intensity and criticality of information resources. An adaptation mechanism is implemented, which provides automatic review and selection of the optimal algorithm depending on the change in risk in real time. The results of the study indicate that the use of the proposed model creates the prerequisites for increasing the level of cryptographic protection, provides a formalized basis for adaptive management of the system's functioning, and allows for reasonable optimization of the use of computing resources. The results obtained confirm the scientific novelty and practical feasibility of implementing adaptive approaches to cryptographic protection of information and communication systems. The development of quantum computers is one of the most significant technological developments of our time, opening new horizons in computing capabilities. However, it also poses serious threats to existing cryptographic algorithms, which are the basis of the security of modern information systems. The paper presents the results of research on post-quantum cryptography and its role in ensuring information security in the context of the development of quantum computers. The purpose of this paper is to compare modern post-quantum, i.e., quantum-stable cryptographic algorithms, assess their applicability for different classes of tasks, and predict the development paths of cryptographic methods for information protection. To achieve this goal, methods of comparative analysis and mathematical modeling are used, which allow for assessing the effectiveness and security of algorithms in different conditions. The study results show that post-quantum algorithms provide reliable information protection in the context of potential quantum attacks while maintaining a high-efficiency level. The conclusions emphasize the need to adapt existing cryptographic systems to new security requirements, particularly through integrating post-quantum algorithms into cloud services and blockchain technologies. The research results can be used to improve data protection mechanisms in information systems and to develop new cryptographic standards in the era of quantum computing. Therefore, plans for future research are outlined, namely: the effectiveness of implementing post-quantum algorithms in various industries, including finance, medicine, and government, will be analyzed; methods for optimizing cryptographic systems will be developed to ensure a balance between security and performance; new mathematical approaches will be studied that can be used to create quantum-resistant algorithms.
