The development of military (state) control systems in modern conditions of hybrid warfare requires the possibility of rapid expansion of both functionality and scaling of the physical and logical basis of management, increasing the range of digitization and use of both military and civilian communication channels to manage troops and weapons. Not only the computing power of the enemy, the means of suppressing and / or blocking the communication channels of the control system, but also the development of quantum technologies that place new and more stringent requirements on security mechanisms based on symmetric and asymmetric cryptography algorithms. According to NIST, a full-scale quantum computer breaks both symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems in polynomial time, significantly reducing their resilience. The paper proposes mechanisms of post-quantum cryptography, which allow to ensure the stability of not only communication channels, but also elements of the structure of the control system. The basis of post-quantum encryption algorithms is the combination of algorithms (schemes) of crypto-code structures with cryptosystems on unprofitable codes (multi-channel cryptography), as well as the possibility of combining them with digital steganography methods. This approach provides the ability to hide elements of management commands, and the use of different channels provides the ability to hide individual elements of cryptograms.

The formation of new systems based on the synthesis of mobile Internet technologies with cyberspace significantly expands the possibilities of creating smart technologies based on mesh and sensor networks. This allows to significantly increase the speed of information transmission using modern wireless communication channels based on technology standards IEEE802.16, IEEE802.16e, IEEE802.15.4, IEEE802.11, Bluetooth 5, 6. It is possible to use SCADA automation and scheduling systems with new functions of managing information flows of various technological processes, to create new principles for building hyperphysical social systems (CPSS) – a set of subjects and objects of cybernetic, physical and social worlds that allow to form “smart” communities, on the one hand , and intellectual space on the other. However, the development of modern computer systems, the advent of full-scale quantum computers significantly impairs the security of modern security systems. According to NIST experts, a full-scale quantum computer breaks both symmetric and asymmetric cryptosystems in polynomial time, which significantly reduces their stability. The goal of the work is to develop mechanisms for providing security services based on post-quantum algorithms - crypto-code constructions. To ensure security in the post-quantum period – the emergence of a full-scale quantum computer, NIST specialists suggest the use of post-quantum algorithms. Structural schemes of crypto-code constructions of McEliece and Niederreiter on algebrogeometric codes are used in the work. The paper proposes mechanisms of post-quantum cryptography, which allow to ensure the stability of not only communication channels, but also elements of the structure of the management system of SCADA systems, not only in critical infrastructure, but also in modern wireless communication channels. The object of the research is the development of a method for ensuring the authenticity and integrity of data in wireless channels based on post-quantum cryptosystems. The development of modern digital technologies ensures the transition to smart technologies and the formation of Next Generation Networks. The formation of smart technologies, as a rule, uses wireless communication channel standards IEEE 802.11X, IEEE 802.15.4, IEEE 802.16, which use only authentication protocols and privacy mechanisms, which are formed on symmetric algorithms. In the conditions of the post-quantum period (the advent of a full-scale quantum computer), the stability of such algorithms is questioned. Such systems, as a rule, are formed on the basis of the synthesis of socio-cyber-physical systems and cloud technologies, which simplifies the conduct of Advanced Persistent Threat attacks, both on the internal circuit of execution systems and on external control systems. The creation of multi-circuit information protection systems allows for an objective assessment of the current state of the system as a whole and the formation of preventive measures to counter cyber threats. The proposed method of providing basic security services: confidentiality, integrity and authenticity based on crypto-code constructions takes into account the level of secrecy of information transmitted over wireless channels and/or stored in databases of socio-cyber-physical systems. The use of post-quantum algorithms – McEliece/Niederreiter crypto-code constructions on elliptic/modified elliptic/lossy/Low-density parity-check code provides the necessary level of stability in the post-quantum cryptoperiod (crypto-stability at the level of 1025–1035 group operations), speed and probability of information (Рerr not lower than 10-9–10-12). The proposed method of information exchange using wireless communication channels ensures their practical implementation on resource-limited devices (creating of CCC on the GF field (24–26).
With the rapid development of quantum technologies and the growth of complex cyber threats, it is particularly important to create reliable data protection methods that can guarantee the unconditional security of transmitted information.Quantum cryptography works based on stuff like superposition (the ability of particles to be in several states at once), quantum entanglement (how they're connected from a distance), and the fact that it's impossible to exactly copy or change a quantum state. The application of these principles makes it possible to implement quantum key distribution, which ensures the detection of any interference in the communication channel and makes it impossible to intercept information unnoticed. The article analyzes the most well-known quantum cryptographic protocols, in particular BB84 and E91, their architecture, principles of operation, and features of implementation in military conditions. The composition of typical quantum protection systems is considered: light pulse sources, channels for transmitting quantum data, devices for receiving them, information processing modules, and conventional communication channels for control. The issues of compatibility of quantum solutions with the existing infrastructure of military telecommunications systems are considered, and the prospects for hybrid cryptographic models combining quantum and post-quantum approaches are analyzed.A comparative analysis of traditional and quantum cryptography is carried out according to criteria such as reliability, scalability, resistance to attacks, and development potential. The main advantages of using quantum cryptography in the defense sector are highlighted, in particular, ensuring a secure command communication channel, protecting navigation and telemetry systems, and the secure operation of distributed networks in combat conditions.Examples of international developments and research are considered, in particular, the DARPA Quantum Network, the Chinese Micius satellite, and EU projects within the Quantum Flagship initiative. These examples demonstrate the interest of leading countries in introducing quantum technologies into the field of national security. The potential of quantum cryptography as a means of updating and strengthening the cyber defense system in № 8(49) 2025 1018 the defense sector has been identified, taking into account both current challenges and future threats in the digital environment.
The article develops a comprehensive threat model for hybrid quantum-secured communication channels of corporate networks operating under conditions of multi-vector cyberattacks and highly dynamic threat scenarios. An analysis of the vulnerabilities of the electronic communication infrastructure is conducted, taking into account the synergistic interaction of classical cryptographic protocols, post-quantum cryptographic protection algorithms, and quantum key distribution technologies.Special attention is paid to the investigation of attack vectors aimed at compromising the processes of key information management, authentication, and the establishment of secure connections in hybrid network environments.A multi-level classification of threats is proposed, covering the physical, data link, network, transport, and application layers of the OSI model, as well as a separate category of threats caused by the use of quantum computing resources by a potential attacker.Specific attack scenarios are considered, including quantum-enhanced cryptanalytic methods, attacks on the hardware implementation of quantum protocols, the compromise of trusted nodes, and the impact on key distribution channels. The paper analyzes software and hardware mechanisms for ensuring the cryptographic strength and fault tolerance of hybrid communication channels, in particular, mechanisms for dynamic key information management, the integration of quantum key distribution protocols into corporate telecommunication environments, and the application of post-quantum cryptographic primitives to protect control and user data.Architectural solutions are proposed for the orchestration of cryptographic services, security status monitoring, and adaptive reconfiguration of security mechanisms in real time.Based on the obtained results, a generalized protection model for hybrid quantum-secured communication channels is formed, aimed at increasing the level of information security, cyber resilience, and the continuity of corporate networks functioning under the conditions of complex combined attacks and the transition to the quantum computing era.
The boom of quantum computing has brought both benefits and threats to cyber-physical systems. The primary purpose of the paper is to highlight the possible threats by quantum computers, and to provide a comparative study of the on-going quantum-resistant post-quantum cryptography suitable for current network infrastructure. Asymmetric key cryptography, mainly the widely adopted RSA and ECC algorithms, has been compromised by quantum algorithms such as the Shor’s algorithm. Moreover, symmetric algorithms such as AES are weakened by brute force attacks using Grover’s algorithm. Thus, researchers are developing public key algorithms based on hard mathematical models that provide resistance against quantum attacks and can be deployed in classical hardware. We categorize the well-known post-quantum schemes based on (1) their security goals: confidentiality and integrity, and (2) their mathematical problems: code-based, lattice-based, super-singular elliptic curve isogeny based, multivariate and hash-based algorithm. Hash-based post- quantum cryptography is further categorized into two: stateless and stateful signature scheme. Furthermore, the chapter compares the algorithms based on the key sizes, ciphertext sizes, signature sizes, computation, and time cost. The paper also presents the challenges faced by the post-quantum algorithms, and it outlines directions for further research to improve the algorithms. Moreover, various cyber-physical fields, including industrial control systems, mainly nuclear power plants, water management plants, and even space stations and their infrastructure, rely on classical cryptography. Thus, the paper presents a generic hybrid cryptosystem based on classical and post-quantum cryptography to enhance resistance against classical and quantum attacks.
Abstract It is viewed as revolutionary technology, offering incredible potential in terms of computing power within different scientific and industrial sectors. Quantum computers provide remarkable computing power; however, they also present significant security risks to existing public-key cryptography systems used to secure digital communication, online banking systems, government, medical applications, cloud computing systems, and IoT systems. Security of commonly used encryption schemes like RSA, DH, and ECC depends on mathematical problems that are impossible for classical computers to solve but can be easily resolved with the help of powerful enough quantum computers by using Shor’s algorithm. Furthermore, Grover’s algorithm makes exhaustive search attacks much faster, thus effectively lowering the security level of symmetric encryption schemes since it provides the speed-up for brute-force attacks. Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) turned out to be an effective and scalable method to protect digital data from attacks using quantum computing. In contrast to quantum cryptography, which requires a special quantum communication channel, PQC uses classical cryptographic algorithms that cannot be broken down by either classical or quantum computer due to certain mathematical problems. This research paper offers an extensive exploration of post-quantum cryptography through the analysis of the development of quantum computing, weaknesses of current cryptographic techniques, and mathematics behind quantum-resistant algorithms. Moreover, this paper explores the major classes of PQC techniques such as lattice-based, code-based, hash-based, multivariate, and isogeny-based cryptography and provides details about their security and application. Moreover, the report gives an overview of the NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography Standardization Project and analyzes recent standardizations of quantum-proof algorithms to be utilized in future digital infrastructures.
