Abstract

In the modern technology world, the cryptographic techniques are plays a major role. There are so many modern cryptographic algorithms are used to secure information through message transformation. Quantum cryptography evolved from the merging of physics and cryptography to reduce the threat that encryption encounters. It is one of the emerging fields in the computer technology. The primary objective of quantum cryptography research is to develop cryptographic algorithms and protocols that are resistant to quantum computer attacks and increase the communication distance. The various quantum cryptography protocols are demonstrated, as well as how this technology has led to the establishment of secure communication between sender and the receiver through using of MANET. We will look at the properties of quantum cryptography and the benefits of MANET it can provide in the future internet. One of the best ways for increasing the distance of message transmission over the internet is to use MANET in the field of quantum cryptography. Quantum based Cryptography for Secured Data Communication in Mobile Ad-Hoc Network

S. Sangeetha, S. Sathappan

A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less network of mobile devices that are linked without any wire. Every mobile device in MANET moves in any direction. Security is a key problem in MANET of providing the secured communication with routing and packet forwarding process. In order to improve the security during the data communication, Quantum Key Distribution based Secured Data Communication (QKD-SDC) technique is designed in MANET. In QKD-SDC technique, quantum based cryptography used the quantum mechanics for secured data communication. Initially, Quantum based Cryptography performs Quantum Key Generation and Quantum Key distribution process. In Quantum Key Generation process, quantum key is generated and the key is shared to the receiver. With help of the quantum key, the original data gets encrypted as qubits. In Quantum Key distribution process, the qubits are sent to the receiver end through quantum communication channel along with the quantum key. At the receiver end, when the quantum key gets matched with receiver's quantum key, the qubits are decrypted to obtain the original data. When the key is not matched, the qubits get dropped. This in turn helps to improve the secured data communication in quantum communication channel. Experimental evaluation of QKD-SDC technique is carried out with the performance metrics such as data loss rate, throughput and time for secured data delivery. Experimental analysis shows that the QKD-SDC technique is able to reduce the data loss rate and also improves the throughput when compared to the state-of-the-art works.

Analysis of Network Performance Using Aspect of Quantum Cryptography

Nisarg A. Patel, Hiren B. Patel

Quantum cryptography is described as a point-to-point secure key generation technology that has emerged in recent times in providing absolute security. Researchers have started studying new innovative approaches to exploit the security of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) for a large-scale communication system. A number of approaches and models for utilization of QKD for secure communication have been developed. The uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics created a new paradigm for QKD. One of the approaches for use of QKD involved network fashioned security. The main goal was point-to-point Quantum network that exploited QKD technology for end-to-end network security via high speed QKD. Other approaches and models equipped with QKD in network fashion are introduced in the literature as. A different approach that this paper deals with is using QKD in existing protocols, which are widely used on the Internet to enhance security with main objective of unconditional security. Our work is towards the analysis of the QKD in Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET).

Survey on Post-Quantum Cryptographic Techniques for Securing MANETs

A. H. Galadima, Ahmed Abubakar Aliyu, F. U. Zambuk +4 more

Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs) enable flexible, infrastructure-less communication for mission critical applications but they are vulnerable impersonation and routing attacks. Quantum computing threatens classical public-key primitives (RSA, ECC) used in MANET security, driving interest in post-quantum cryptography (PQC) for decentralized, resource limited settings. This survey reviews PQC techniques and its application to MANETs, focusing on signature, key exchange, and encryption primitives from lattice based, code base, hash base, and multivariate based families. Synthesizing findings from 40+ studies, we compare security, overheads, and feasibility for constrained nodes and dynamic topologies. Lattice based schemes (Kyber, Dilithium) offer the best balance of security and efficiency, though large keys and CPU costs hinder adoption. Lightweight primitives and hybrid models (PQC with symmetric cryptography) show promise. Key gaps include few lightweight implementations, limited routing level integration (e.g., OLSRv2), and scarce real world validation. Future work should optimize PQC for low power devices, embed it into MANET protocols, and test via simulation and hardware to enable practical, quantum resilient deployments.

Quantum cryptography: An emerging technology in network security

Mehrdad S. Sharbaf

The uses of computer communications networks technologies have increased the incidents of computer abuse. Because of these incidents, most organizations facing pressure to protect their assets. Most digital networks generally rely on modern cryptosystems to secure the confidentiality and integrity of traffic carried across the network. The current modern cryptosystems based on mathematical model introduce potential security holes related to technological progress of computing power, the key refresh rate and key expansion ratio, the most crucial parameters in the security of any cryptographic techniques. For that reason efforts have been made to establish new foundation for cryptography science in the computer communications networks. One of these efforts has led to the development of quantum cryptography technology, whose security relies on the laws of quantum mechanics [1,2,3,20, 24]. This research paper concentrates on quantum cryptography, and how this technology contributes to the network security. The scope of this research paper is to cover the weaknesses, and the security pitfalls in modern cryptography, fundamental concepts of quantum cryptography, the real - world application implementation of this technology, finally the future direction in which the quantum cryptography is headed forwards.

A Review on Quantum Cryptography Technology

Piya Techateerawat

Nowadays, the information is exchanged among the computer network. These data and information are involved in business, military, academic education, research and etc. which are shared around the world in both private and public network. Since, many categories of data are required restriction on authorization of access, modify, delete and insert, security in communication is increasingly important to the network communication. Currently, computer security applies mathematic theory to computer security for encrypting and decrypting on both sender and receiver. To use security attack with high performance computer (e.g. quantum computer), attacker can find a key and then obtains the data in feasible period. Quantum cryptography is one of the solutions that use property of polarization to ensure that transmitted data is not trapped by eavesdropper. Quantum cryptography is improved significantly in the last decades including the most two dominant protocol BB84 and BB92.

Quantum Cryptography Protocols Ensuring Secure Communication in the Era of Quantum Computing

J. Kamalakumari, Ajmeera Kiran, G. S. V. Radha +3 more

Quantum cryptography has emerged as a revolutionary technology for ensuring secure communication in the era of quantum computing. While existing research primarily focuses on theoretical frameworks and small-scale experimental setups, significant challenges remain in practical implementation, scalability, and security vulnerabilities. This study aims to bridge the gap between theory and real-world deployment by developing robust quantum cryptographic protocols that address key challenges such as noise management, side-channel attacks, and Trojan horse attacks. Additionally, we propose an optimized quantum key distribution (QKD) mechanism that ensures secure communication over long distances under realistic conditions. Our research integrates post-quantum cryptography with quantum cryptographic techniques to provide a hybrid security model that is resilient against both classical and quantum computing threats. By leveraging commercially available quantum hardware and advanced randomness extraction methods, this study contributes to the development of scalable, secure, and efficient quantum communication networks. The findings of this research will play a crucial role in advancing secure digital communication systems and fortifying data security in the post-quantum era.
