Abstract

Abstract We numerically study the dynamics of quantum entanglement generation between remote electron-phonon systems by photoirradiation employing a model of multiple spins and boson modes. The Schmidt decomposition on the time-dependent wavefunction enables us to discuss the mechanism of the entanglement generation as dynamical behaviors of the singular vectors. The calculated results show that an effective entanglement source will be provided by an appropriate measurement on the phonon state.

Two-step Dynamics of Photoinduced Phonon Entanglement Generation between Remote Electron–Phonon Systems

Kunio Ishida, Hiroaki Matsueda

The generation of quantum entanglement between phonons in photoirradiated remote electron-phonon systems is numerically studied. Upon excitation by a visible/ultraviolet laser pulse, the entanglement of electrons is immediately generated and that of phonons follows via electron-phonon interactions, i.e., the entanglement generation of phonons is a two-step process. Therefore, it is important to design the temporal properties of incident optical pulses in order to control the entanglement of electrons and/or phonons. These features are revealed by the quantum mutual information and the composite modes derived from the Heisenberg equation of motion. The calculated results also show that the dynamics of the phonon entanglement can be observed by time-resolved spectroscopy on the scattered light.

Quantum entanglement control of electron–phonon systems by light irradiation

Kunio Ishida, Hiroaki Matsueda, Akira Kamada

We numerically study the dynamics of quantum entanglement between interacting electron-phonon and qubit-spin systems under photoirradiation, employing a model of multiple spins and boson modes. The interplay of the antiferromagnetic exchange and electron-phonon interactions provides us with a phase diagram, wherein each phase is characterized by the ground state property of the electron-phonon system. Light irradiation of the electron-phonon system facilitates the generation of quantum entanglement, according to the spin configuration and the phonon state in the ground state. Analyses using the quantum mutual information and the singular values of the reduced density matrix indicate that the quantum mechanical effect of the irradiated light appears in the state of the material.

Remote magnon-phonon entanglement in the waveguide-magnomechanics

Shi-fan Qi, Fan Li

Generating long-distance quantum entanglement is crucial for advancing quantum information processing. In this work, we propose a protocol for generating remote magnon-phonon entanglement in a hybrid waveguide-magnomechanical system, where multiple spatially separated magnon modes couple to a common waveguide while interacting with their respective phonon modes. By applying tailored pulsed drives and engineering the magnomechanical interactions, our scheme enables the creation of diverse long-distance and dynamically stable entanglement. Beyond basic magnon-phonon two-mode entanglement, it supports genuine multimode entanglement between a single phonon and multiple magnons, bipartite entanglement between a single magnon and multiple phonons, as well as genuine four-mode entanglement involving two magnons and two phonons. Moreover, we show that dissipative magnon-magnon interactions mediated by traveling photons can generate substantially stronger remote entanglement than coherent couplings. Our work provides an experimentally feasible scheme for the remote generation of magnon-phonon entanglement.

Entanglement dynamics of electron-electron scattering in low-dimensional semiconductor systems

Fabrizio Buscemi, Paolo Bordone, Andrea Bertoni

We perform the quantitative evaluation of the entanglement dynamics in scattering events between two indistinguishable electrons interacting via the Coulomb potential in one- and two-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures. We apply a criterion based on the von Neumann entropy and the Schmidt decomposition of the global state vector suitable for systems of identical particles. From the time-dependent numerical solution of the two-particle wave function of the scattering carriers we compute their entanglement evolution for different spin configurations: two electrons with the same spin, with different spin, and singlet and triplet spin states. The procedure allows us to evaluate the mechanisms that govern entanglement creation and their connection with the characteristic physical parameters and initial conditions of the system. The cases in which the evolution of entanglement is similar to the one obtained for distinguishable particles are discussed.

Dynamics of an Exciton-phonon Triangle under Photoirradiation

Aoyagi, Noriyuki, Hiroaki Matsueda, Kunio Ishida

Herein, the dynamics of excitons coupled with optical phonons in a triangular system is numerically studied. By representing the excitons by quasi-spin states, the similarity between the chiral spin states and the exciton chiral states is discussed. In particular, the optical control of excitons is discussed, where photoirradiation causes the switching of the exciton states on the ultrafast time scale by Raman scattering. A phase diagram is obtained based on the ground-state properties of the system determined by the magnitudes of the exciton-phonon interactions and exciton transfer energy. By varying the frequency and/or intensity of light, a transition between exciton-phonon composite states is induced, which suggests the possibility of the coherent control of the chiral properties of excitonic systems via phonon excitation.
