Abstract

Abstract Network security is critical for both personal and business networks. Most homes with high – speed internet have one or more wireless routers, which can be hacked if not adequately secured. Even though, if more number of solutions were addressed for security, still the security is challenging one in networks.Quantum Key Distribution was proposed to enhance security in the past literature. In this QKD, the secret message was converted in to Q-bits. Through this side channel, there is a chance to hack the data by the Eavesdropper which cannot be identified by the receiver side. So, receiver will send the acknowledgement to the sender for sending encrypted data in the classical channel. From this, the hacker can easily fetch the encrypted data from the classical channel. To address this issue, Security in Quantum side Channel (SQSC) framework has been proposed in which Shifting and Binary Conversions (SBC) algorithm has been implemented. This proposed security model attains good performance to a greater extent.

Enhancing the cloud security using side channel attack free QKD with entangled fuzzy logic

N. Gopinath, S. Prayla Shyry

As technology advances, it becomes easier to share large amounts of data over the internet. Cloud computing is one of the technologies that allows for easy data sharing over the internet. It is critical to provide security for this data when they are being shared across the internet. The security of data saved in cloud storage, as well as data transport and transmitting a key required to encrypt data between two parties, has been a source of concern for the industry, as a result of the growing use of cloud services in recent years. Collective attacks are significantly more powerful than individual strikes, according to our research. Despite the fact that additional research works were studied in the previous literature review, there are some study concerns for not correcting third-party data hacking. Therefore, this paper focuses on the design of Secured Quantum Key Distribution (SQKD) with Fuzzy logic to improve the security of the shared key. Quantum Key Distribution, Post Quantum Key Distribution, and the EPR Proto-col are technologies that increase the security of data sharing. We have incorporated the Secured Quantum Key Distribution (SQKD) with Fuzzy logic in our proposed work to improve the security of the shared key. The proposed systems include some additional characteristics in addition to the existing approaches. The proposed model uses shifting algorithms and the fuzzification procedure to assure the security of the secret key in the Fuzzification of Quantum Key approach. The experimental results states that the mean value of security losses in SFQ is 1.8306051, and the mean value of QKD is 14.6448416, with standard deviations of 1.7329 and 13.863 for SFQ and QKD, respectively.

Binary Phase Shift Key And Block Reordering Framework To Avoid Side-Channel Attacks And Multiphoton Attacks In Quantum Key Distribution

S.Prayla Shyry, Walter Priesnitz Filho, Maria Emilia Camargo +1 more

Technology development in recent days has achieved a greater level in terms of many industries and network applications. In those, network security has important factor in maintaining the data to be transmitted securely. For this process of data transfer, cryptography has a significant role in algorithms for maintaining the data secured using complex computations. RSA algorithms are used to encrypt data using the enhanced bit insertion to protect RSA from various attacks. Quantum Key Distribution is one of the advanced methods for key transmission. Nowadays, in all practical implementations of quantum, Photonic systems are applied. Quantum states are encoded by photon pulses provided by Alice and those states are measured and selected. Actually it is very hard to discriminate the amount of photons and it is used by Bob for mathematical calculations. With these Bob get the knowledge of the real pulses obtained after the acceptable loss and flaws. The multiphoton pulses are tracked and it is broadcasted, Bobs calculation choices are measured and the breaching of security protocol is mitigated. Hence we develop a new framework to avoid and analyze the multiphoton attacks. The proposed framework Binary Phase Shift Key and block reordering (BPSK-BRO) Framework removes the side channel attacks in QKD and provides more than 99.9% of security in QKD. In the Future, photons can be manipulated using nanoscale devices like waveguides and beam splitters for quantum computing applications including quantum entanglement and communication. Also superconducting nanomaterials can behave quantum at higher temperatures and so the complex circuits required for these qubits can only be built via nanofabrication techniques.

Secure sharing of secret key on insecure channel using Quantum key distribution

Shirish Kumar Shrikant Jagdale

In today’s era of internet and network application, need for security has become of vital importance. Most of our important data is stored in computer and recently on cloud, also whenever we need to send data to some other person, we make use of internet thus, need of data security becomes increasingly important. Protecting important sensitive data against any unauthorized access is a major concern. Cryptography is one of the methods to safeguard all our important data from being stolen or intercepted by unwanted person. We can rely on classical cryptography for securing our data however, with the advancement of computation they are being phased out. Therefore, Quantum Key Distribution promises a secure key agreement by using law of quantum mechanics thus, QKD becomes a significant trend of new cryptographic revolution. This paper explains how QKD is used for secure sharing of key between two entities i.e. Alice and Bob and further using this shared key for encryption and decryption of text data. In addition to this, paper also discuss about implementation of QKD-BB84 protocol and test result indicates that QKD is secure against man-in-the-middle attack. However, physically implementing QKD is a greatest challenge due to need of Quantum computers and cost of setup.

Securing IOT Network through Quantum Key Distribution

Current cryptographic techniques broadly specified as conventional cryptography is solely based on the solidity of the mathematical concepts. The advancements in quantum computing can use reversible logic to compute the keys and easily break the existing security in conventional computers. From the analysis of the network structure of Internet of Things (IOT) it is very clear that the entire backbone of the system would collapse if it is attacked or hacked. IOT is a wireless technology that connects “ANYTHING” around to the Internet. IOT is a revolution which should be protected from the attackers as it would lead to several losses which could even be fatal. Hence a strong provision for securing users data in IOT is a real challenge. This paper is attempted to review the fundamentals of Quantum Key Distribution, security aspects for IOT and to address how QKD can be used to secure a IOT system. The challenge encountered is to increase the range and increase the transmission rate of data in QKD systems and to check for a possible solution to adhere these systems with existing information security solutions

A Time-based Secured Framework for Key-Exchange Between Trusted Parties: Quantum-Key Distribution Protocol

Bindu Madavi K P, Krishna Sowjanya K, Neha Patwari +1 more

Cybersecurity attacks are rising day by day due to the explosive growth of the internet. Many encryption techniques and authentication mechanisms also came into existence to avoid or minimize cybersecurity attacks. However, these traditional encryption algorithms are facing new challenges because of quantum computers. Due to their high computational capacity, quantum computers will be able to decipher the messages which are encrypted by the encryption algorithms. To guard against these sophisticated cyber attacks, the Quantum-Key Distribution (QKD) protocol and the Time-Released Encryption(TRE) algorithms are becoming popular. The paper proposes a Time-Based Quantum Key Distribution Protocol (TB-QKD), that enables a secure key exchange and decryption process between two trusted parties on an arbitrary time. The proposed TB-QKD protocol allows the sender and receiver to share the keys securely through the quantum channel with the help of QKD protocol. The algorithm encryption and decryption times for different messages have been observed and presented. Moreover, this protocol also provides a suitable solution that addresses many vulnerabilities that occur in the domain of data security and confidentiality.

Proposed method for enhancing quantum bit error rate using quantum key distribution technique

Mustapha Yusuf Abubakar, Low Tang Jung, Nordin Zakaria +1 more

The current public key infrastructure (pki) encryption/decryption methods are still vulnerable to attacks. The main issue is, the public key algorithm suffers no effective solutions which are natural within particular integer factorization, distinct logarithm and also elliptic curve interactions. It might be computationally possible for an individual to create public and private key set computationally for attacking purposes. The current single channel quantum key distribution (qkd) technique suffers high quantum bit error rates (qber) in the presence of eavesdropping attacks. Therefore this high error rate needs to be reduced for better security using two channels qkd. With the current emergence of quantum computers many security algorithm that could take classical computer years to break could now be broken in matter of seconds. Therefore stronger quantum cryptography is needed for high security networking. This paper is proposed to provide a way for solving the key transmission issues using qkd, as a new method, by providing two quantum channels to improve qber. In addition also to develop an algorithm for integrating pki and qkd in solving the secrete key sharing issues in grid environment. The research methodology will require the use of qkd devices to be placed at the end of the sender and the receiver nodes for quantum channel secrete key sharing. The outcome of the research shall provide highly enhanced network cryptography mechanism for cyber security.
