Abstract

This paper presents a design scheme of wire-line telephone system using self-interference (SI) cancellation technology in co-frequency co-time full-duplex (CCFD) system to realize absolute secure communication at the physical layer. This scheme can hide the target signal by skillfully releasing the high-power artificial noise to the whole link at the receiving node, and then make use of the receiver’s knowledge of the SI signal to achieve high dB SI cancellation with the help of analog domain SI cancellation technology in CCFD domain, so that the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) received by the eavesdropper at any position of the link is far lower than that of the legitimate receiver, so as to realize the absolutely secure communication in the sense of Wyner principle. This paper not only puts forward the specific design scheme of absolutely secure communication telephone, but also analyzes the calculation of security capacity under different eavesdropping positions, different SI cancellation capability and different system parameters according to Shannon theory.

Implementation method of Wheatstone bridge for absolute secure communication in physical layer

Junsong Gong, Sanjun Liu, Guohong Lai

In this paper, W-SIC, a circuit with self-interference cancellation ability based on Wheatstone bridge is proposed to realize the physical layer absolutely safe communication in wired mode. The communication parties use a coaxial cable to transmit information to each other in different frequency ranges. They send information signals in their respective frequency ranges and release artificial noise signals in each other's frequency range. When the eavesdropper eavesdropping on the coaxial cable, the signals in both frequency ranges have been polluted by artificial noise, the eavesdropper can’t obtain effective signals. However, they can easily eliminate self-interference signals by using W-SIC, receive only the signal sent. Because the two signals are in different frequency ranges, the target information can be easily obtained by filtering, downconversion and other processing by the receiving. Besides W-SIC circuit model, a high-precision sliding rheostat is proposed to more accurately realize Bridge balance inside it, the optimal eavesdropping position of the eavesdropper is analyzed, the channel capacity of legitimate recipients, the formula of self-interference residual factor, the formula of system security capacity and the channel capacity of eavesdroppers are derived. The simulation results show the effectiveness and feasibility of the research method proposed in this paper.

An Absolute Secure Wire-Line Communication Method Against Wiretapper

Sanjun Liu, Meng Ma, Yunzhou Li +2 more

This letter proposes a security method for wire-line point-to-point communication based on the information theory. The proposed system replaces the conventional receiver by a full-duplex node which can, not only, receive the confidential signal, but also deliver artificial noise to impair the channel of wiretapper observation between the two legitimate partners. The power ratio of the signal to the artificial noise is a key factor for guaranteeing absolute secure communication. The theoretical work is carried out in the model of physical layer security on the assumption that the wiretapper can perform the optimum detection, including with colluding structure. Numerical results are presented for demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

A physical layer security scheme for full-duplex communication systems with residual self-interference and non-eavesdropping CSI

Weijia Lei, Yang Zhou, Lin Xiuzhen

We discuss the physical layer security scheme in the Full-Duplex (FD) MIMO point-to-point two-way communication system with residual self-interference, in which legitimate nodes send confidential information and null space Artificial Noise (AN) while receiving information. Because the Channel State Information (CSI) of the eavesdropper is unavailable, we optimize the covariance matrices of the information signal as well as the allocation of the antenna for transmitting and receiving to minimize the signal power consumption under the target rate constraint. As a result, the power of AN is maximized within the limit of total power, so the interception capability of the eavesdropper is suppressed as much as possible. Since self-interference cannot be completely eliminated, the optimization process of one legitimate node depends on the optimization result of the other. By substituting self-interference power in the secrecy rate formula with its average value, the joint optimization process at the two nodes is transformed into two separate and solvable optimization processes. Then, the Water-Filling Algorithm (WFA) and bisection algorithm are used to get the optimal covariance matrices of the signal. Furthermore, we derive the theoretical lower bound of ergodic achievable secrecy rate under rayleigh channels to evaluate the performance of the scheme. The simulation results show that the theoretical derivation is correct, and the actual achievable rate is very close to the target rate, which means that the approximation in the optimization is feasible. The results also show that secrecy transmission can be realized because a considerable secrecy rate can be achieved.

Secure short-packet communications using a full-duplex receiver

Dechuan Chen, Jin Li, Jianwei Hu +2 more

In this work, we consider the physical layer security in short-packet communications, where a full-duplex (FD) receiver receives information signals from a source while generating artificial noise (AN) to confuse an eavesdropper. Taking into account the finite blocklength coding and the self-interference (SI) in FD mode, we derive new approximation closed-form expression for the secrecy throughput. Moreover, we analyze the asymptotic secrecy throughput in two distinct scenarios, i.e., high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime and infinite blocklength coding, to gain more insights. Our examination illustrates the correctness of our expressions and shows how the critical system variables affect the secrecy throughput.

Anti-eavesdropping Scheme on Physical Layer for Full-Duplex Relay System Based on SWIPT

Haoyuan Zhou, Weijia Lei

A secure transmission scheme of anti-eavesdropping on the physical layer in simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) is proposed. Each node in the system is a single-antenna node. There are direct links between eavesdropping node and the source or relay node. The relay work in a full-duplex mode, which uses the amplify-and-forward method to forward the signal. Between the source and relay node is SWIPT mode. The relay collects energy from the received radio frequency (RF) signal and uses it for forwarding. The destination node is also a full-duplex node, sends artificial noise to perform cooperative interference while receiving information to intercept the eavesdropping node. Aiming at maximizing the secrecy rate of the system, the power splitting factor, signal and artificial noise power distribution factor are optimized when the relay adopts the power splitting method. Simulation results suggest that the use of power splitting way and cooperative interference scheme at destination can significantly improve the performance of system.
