COHERENT STATES, SQUEEZED FLUCTUATION, AND RECOMBINATION RADIATION OF ELETRON-HOLE PAIRS IN SEMICONDUCTOR

HUANG HONG-BIN, 东南大学物理化学系

The production of Bose approximation coherent states and SU(2) coherent states of electron-hole pairs in semiconductor generated by coherent light excitation are discussed. Squeezed fluctuation and recombination radiation of electron-hole pairs are studied for these two cases. The second order coherence and distribution functions of electron-hole pairs are given. It is shown that the Bose approximation corresponds to the contraction of group SU(2) to the harmonic-oscillator group.

Generation of Squeezed Light from Semiconductor Lasers and Its Application to Precision Measurements

Y. Yamamoto

The generation and application of nonclassical light (number-phase squeezed states and single-photon states) from semiconductor lasers and mesoscopic LEDs are discussed. The shot noise suppression in the three-partition processes such as the electron transport in a highly dissipative conductor, the electron injection and tunneling in a pn junction, and the radiative recombination of an electron-hole pair inside a cavity is the basic principle for this generation scheme.

Quantum Entanglement at the Superradiance of a Condensate of Electron–Hole Pairs in Semiconductor Heterostructures

Petr P Vasil'ev

The quantum properties of superradiant pulses generated at the radiative recombination of an electron–hole condensate in semiconductor heterostructures at room temperature have been studied using optical homodyne tomography. Signatures of the quantum entanglement of superradiant states, which are superpositions of two coherent states, have been revealed. It has been demonstrated that reconstructed Wigner functions under certain conditions are very similar to the Wigner functions of the Schrödinger cat states.
