Abstract

The production of Bose approximation coherent states and SU(2) coherent states of electron-hole pairs in semiconductor generated by coherent light excitation are discussed. Squeezed fluctuation and recombination radiation of electron-hole pairs are studied for these two cases. The second order coherence and distribution functions of electron-hole pairs are given. It is shown that the Bose approximation corresponds to the contraction of group SU(2) to the harmonic-oscillator group.

TWO-EXCITON SQUEEZED STATES AND ITS RECOMBINATION RADIATION IN SEMICONDUCTOR

Huajun Huang

This paper introduces two-exciton squeezed states. For the two cases of non-Bose and Bose approximations of one-exciton, the squeezings and the second correlations of quantum and space correlated pairs of excitons, and the squeezings of its recombination radiations are discussed. It is shown that, in these two cases, the Bose approximations of the two-exciton correspond to the contractions of group SU(2) and group SU(1,1) to the group of harmonic oscillator, respectively. The influences of the contractions on the squeezings and correlations of the two-exciton are also given.

SUPERPOSITION STATES OF EXCITONS IN SEMICONDUCTOR AND RECOMBINATION RADIATION

HUANG HONG-BIN, 东南大学物理系,南京,210018

Under Bose and non-Bose approximations, the squeezing, antibunching and sub-Poisso-nian statistics of one-exciton and two-exciton in the Dicke and Fock superposition states are discussed. The recombination radiation of excitons in these superposition states can also have these non-classical effects. The results obtained in various situations are compared and explained.

A THEORY OF COHERENT PROPAGATION OF LIGHT WAVE IN SEMICONDUCTORS (Ⅱ)

GAN ZI-ZHAO, Guo-Zhen Yang, (1)北京大学物理系; (2)中国科学院物理研究所

This paper is the second part of a theory of the coherent propagation of light wave in semiconductors. After considering the interaction between electrons, the problem of a semiconductor interacting with light is discussed and the equation of exciton polarization wave excited by light wave is obtained. We point out that the equation can be approximated by a set of linear ones and the exciton polarization wave can be regarded as a Bose field only in the limit of low excitation. In this paper, the problem of coherent excitation of discrete exciton level is also discussed specifically. It is shown that the discrete exciton level system excited coherently is approximately equivalent to a two-level atom system excited by light wave in which the difference of energy level is dependent on the degree of excitation and the density of equivalent "two-level atoms" is determined by features of the exciton state wave function.
