Abstract

Abstract The phase and velocity sensitivity is calculated at the interface of three level atomic medium and a Silver Silica (AgSiO 2 ) nano-composites material by surface plasmon polaritons waves. A large kink in the real part of dispersion relation of SPPs is measured in the large interaction zone, due to which the group velocity and delay/advance times of SPPs are enhanced. A group velocity of v g = ±1 × 10 9 m s −1 is measured at the group index region of 0 < n g < 1 and −1 < n g < 0. The propagation time is measured to be t g = ±1 × 10 −7 s at the propagation length L x ( m ) and at v g = ±1 × 10 9 m s −1 in the range of group index of 0 < n g < 1 and −1 < n g < 0. The volume fractional change of nano particles, probe/control field detuning and Rabi frequency of control field significantly influence the velocity sensitivity. The velocity sensitivity is measured to be 23 μ m s −1 by SPPs. The velocity sensitivity could be improved to 0.1 μ m s −1 by taking large ensemble of atomic coherence and large delay/advance in time due to SPPs.

Plasmon's Fizeau‐dragging effect at the interface of atomic and nano‐composites media

Gohar Zeb Khan, Imrana Ashraf, Arif Ullah +1 more

Abstract The velocity uncertainty by Fizeaus plasmon dragging‐effect is investigated at the interface of four level atomic medium and Silver Silica (AgSiO2) nano‐composites material by using surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) waves. We measured the real part of the dispersion relation Re(Ksp) = 1.5K0 with probe and control field detunings and Re(Ksp) = 1.36K0 with control field Rabi frequencies ∣Ω1,2 ∣ /γ. Furthermore, Re(Ksp/K0) = 1.8 with damping rate γ42/γ and volume frictional change fm. A large kink in the real part of dispersion relation of SPPs was measured in the large interaction region. The group index is in the range of ±20. The maximum dragging coefficient is ±20. The relative phase difference due to dragging is enhance by factor of −1.5 × 10−8rad. The propagation time is measured to be 0.8 ns with both control field Rabi frequencies. The volume fractional change of nano particles, probe/control field detuning and Rabi frequency of control field significantly influence the dragging coefficient, relative phase difference and velocity uncertainty. Including Fizeau‐Dragging effect in the given configuration the velocity uncertainty is measured to be 15 μm/s which is much larger than the velocity width of Kuan et al, used Δva = (8kBTln2/m)1/2 = 176 mm/s. The velocity uncertainty could be improved to 0.1 μm/s by taking large ensemble of atomic coherence and large delay/advance in time due to SPPs.

Theoretical Model for Sub-Wavelength Atomic Localization Based on Surface Plasmon Polariton Dispersion and Orbital Angular Momentum

Najm Uddin, Reem Altuijri, Mohamed Rabea Eid +4 more

Abstract This manuscript theoretically investigates atomic microscopy at the interface of a silver-silica (AgSiO 2 ) Nano-composite and cesium atomic medium, incorporating surface plasmon polariton dispersion relations and the effect of Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM). The localization mechanism is determined by the absorption spectrum of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs), which is influenced by the imaginary part of the propagation constant [Im (ksp)]. Here's the simplified version. The position of atoms may be controlled by altering (OAM) and field parameters, including probe detuning (δ p ), control field detuning (δ 1,2 ), decay rates (γ 1,2,3,4 ), Nano-composite volume percentage (f v ), Rabi frequencies (Ω 1,2 ) and position independent part of Rabi frequencies (G 1,2 ). The suggested scheme gains sub-wavelength spatial resolution in atom localization, with potential applications in atom nanolithography and in the process of neutral atom trapping and laser cooling and more. These findings demonstrate how important quantum-plasmonic interactions are to sophisticated atomic manipulation methods.

Particle microscopy by surface plasmon polariton waves at the interface of dielectric and silver silica nano-composites

Sami Ullah, Umer Wahid, Bakht Amin Bacha +2 more

Abstract The dielectric tensor of four level atomic medium coupled with dielectric function of silver silica nano-composites material to modify dispersion relation of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs). The rapid damping of SPPs is used to localized atomic particles in two dimension inverse position space. Directions, phases and intensity of the control field play important roles in the localization of atoms in a unit wavelength domain. Ten, six, four and two localization peaks are investigated by SPPs damping in different quadrants. A single broad localized peak symmetric about origin are also investigated. The theoretical work of this article may be useful for quantum information in Plasmonster technology.

Coherent manipulation of intensity interrogation of sensitivity of the surface plasmon polariton waves at the dielectric and silver metal interface

Qaisar Khan, Muhammad Munaim Khan, Bakht Amin Bacha +1 more

Abstract In this manuscript, Intensity interrogation of sensitivity of the surface plasmon polariton waves (SPPs) is coherently manipulated, at the interface of four‐level dielectric medium and silver metal using prism geometry. Sensitivity of SPPs with respect to refractive index is written as . A useful control in sensitivity is reported with probe and control fields detuning, Rabi frequency and decay rate. Sensitivity is a function of probe field detuning and control field Rabi frequency. The maximum sensitivity is reported to with probe field detuning and control field Rabi frequency, while minimum sensitivity is investigated to with control field phase and control field Rabi frequency. The sensitivity in this manuscript shows useful application in biosensor and photovoltaic devices.

Manipulation of sensitivity of the surface plasmon polariton waves at the interface of high magneto-optical medium and silver metal using angular interrogation

Qaisar Khan, Bakht Amin Bacha, Iftikhar Ahmad +4 more

In this manuscript, sensitivity of the surface plasmon polariton waves (SPPs) using angular interrogation is coherently manipulated at the interface of four level high magneto-optical medium and silver metal using prism geometry. The control and probe fields detuning, Rabi frequency and decay rate manipulated significantly the angular interrogation of sensitivity of the surface plasmon polariton waves. The permittivity ϵd and permeability μd of the high magneto-optical medium play an important role in the manipulation of the sensitivity. The sensitivity is a function of control field detuning. The maximum sensitivity is reported to 800 deg/RIU with control field detuning. The minimum sensitivity is investigated to 6 deg/RIU with probe field detuning and Rabi frequency of control field. The reported results have useful applications in data storage and chemical sensing technologies.

SPPs-enhanced Laguerre field-dependent superluminal propagation in atomic media

Ashfaq Uddin, Najm Uddin, Latif Ur Rahman +2 more

Abstract Motivated by the need for controllable fast-light platforms in compact photonic systems, this work investigates surface plasmon polariton (SPP)-assisted superluminal group propagation in a four-level cesium atomic medium driven by Laguerre-Gaussian control fields. The aim is to examine how the beam waist and intensity of the structured control fields, together with plasmonic field confinement, modify absorption, dispersion, group index, and group velocity. Using a density-matrix formulation, the probe-field coherence is obtained, the optical susceptibility is calculated, and the group velocity is evaluated from the dispersion slope while the SPP contribution is included through the effective dielectric response. The results show that increasing the Laguerre-Gaussian beam waist broadens the spatial region of anomalous dispersion and negative group index, while SPP confinement strengthens the local atom-field interaction and enhances susceptibility modulation. The study demonstrates a tunable route for controlling localized superluminal group propagation without implying superluminal information transfer, with potential applications in optical switching, photonic signal processing, plasmonic sensing, and quantum optical devices.
