Interferometric retrieval of coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering signal through pulse shaper is demonstrated. The method allows for fast acquisition, and is beneficial in detecting broad Raman structure that has short coherence lifetime.

Ultrafast four-wave mixing using incoherent light and coherent short-pulsed light

Mark A. Dugan, Joseph S. Melinger, A. C. Albrecht

We report a new class of Rabi-detuning oscillation in transient coherent Stokes/anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CSRS/CARS) experiments which use incoherent light to achieve high time resolution.1-3 Ultrahigh time resolution is achieved by mutually delaying in time two nanosecond laser beams derived from the same broadband dye-laser pulse.
