Abstract

The current paper covers the investigation of the current state of the existing tools for quantum programming includingQCL (Quantum Computation Language), quantum pseudocode, Q# programming language and Quipper. Since quantumcomputing is one of the main research areas today, the respective tools are being created quite often. They are aimed onsimplifying the development of quantum programs, on the one hand, and provide some platform for testing and runningthem, on the other hand. So, the authors investigated the currently available tools and provided the results in the article

The Q# programming language investigation

I. Bozhko, Г. Г. Четвериков, Yurij Kolisnyk

This work is the investigation of the current state of the existing tools for quantum computing, especially the Q# programming language as the most developed tool for this nowadays. Since quantum computing is one of the main research area today, the respective tools are being created. These tools should simplify the development of quantum programs, on the one hand, and provide some platform for testing and running them, on the other hand. So the authors investigated the currently available tools and provided the results in the article.

Quantum computing tools

I. Bozhko, Н.Б. Козел, Г. Г. Четвериков

In this paper, the current state of existing quantum computing tools is investigated, such tools as IBM Q Experience, ProjectQ, Rigetti Forest are considered, and special attention is given to the programming language Q# as the most advanced quantum computing tool currently available. As quantum computing today is one of the main areas of research, relevant tools are created to simplify the development of quantum programs, on the one hand, and provide a platform for testing and launching them, on the other hand. Therefore, the authors examined existing tools and presented the results in this paper.

Tools for Performing and Emulating Quantum Computing

Pavel E. Baskakov, Yuri Yu. Khabovets, Irina A. Pilipenko +2 more

Currently, quantum technologies are at the forefront of scientific thought. Large corporations are creating their own quantum supercomputers, developing quantum analogues of classical algorithms, and research is being conducted in the field of quantum cryptography. But since quantum computers have not yet become widespread, the question becomes relevant: how can ordinary users, scientists and researchers keep up with the development of science? One possible solution is to use various kinds of tools to emulate quantum computing on a local non-quantum computer. In addition, there is also the opportunity to have several qubits of IBM's quantum supercomputer available. As a rule, such tools are implemented in the form of libraries for various programming languages. Due to the fact that working with real quantum computers is available only to a narrow circle of researchers, emulators are simply necessary to test hypotheses or algorithms. This article examined the most popular quantum emulators used for quantum computing and allowing emulating the process of a quantum computer. Work was carried out to study quantum emulators, to identify and describe their individual characteristics, to make recommendations for a more convenient start to work with them, as well as to describe their advantages and disadvantages. A review of several libraries for the JavaScript, Python, C / C ++ languages was made, as well as a tool with a web interface (Quantum Programming Studio) and a set of tools from Microsoft (Microsoft Quantum Development Kit), the main language of which is Q #, is examined. At the end of the article, a conclusion is made regarding the considered tools.

A Survey on Available Tools and Technologies Enabling Quantum Computing

Prateek Singh, R. Dasgupta, Anushka Singh +4 more

In the contemporary era of scientific and technical innovations, we are witnessing remarkable progress in the realm of quantum computing. Today’s phase is referred to as the second quantum revolution, characterized by ongoing research and progress in the hardware, software, and applications of quantum computers. While the theoretical foundations of quantum computing have been in place for decades, the practical tools and technologies that have emerged in recent years have catapulted this field from theory into reality. This paper provides a brief overview of the fundamental principles of quantum computing and explores the various technologies that support them. From quantum programming languages and simulators to quantum hardware platforms and software development kits, these tools have paved the way for groundbreaking research, experimentation, and the exploration of quantum’s boundless potential. Furthermore, it addresses the current developments, existing challenges, ongoing improvements, and future prospects in this dynamic field.

Quantum software development: a survey

Luis Jiménez-Navajas, Fabian Bühler, Frank Leymann +3 more

Over the last few years, quantum computing has been growing at an exponential pace. Every day, new techniques, frameworks, modeling, and programming languages are emerging that aim to facilitate the development of quantum software, which is key to achieving the promising applications of quantum computing. However, which of these are actively used and the degree of satisfaction of researchers and developers regarding these quantum software frameworks and languages is not known. To address this, we conducted a survey to characterize which modeling tools and which quantum programming languages are used during the quantum software lifecycle. Researchers in academia and industry developers were surveyed, and a total of 57 responses were collected. The results indicate that during quantum software development, some models and diagrams are used to guide development. In addition, the survey results show what quantum programming languages are the most used alongside the classical programming languages employed to build hybrid programs, among other important insights. The implications of this survey are: (i) to find out what the current trends are within quantum software development and (ii) to find out what the needs are of quantum software developers with respect to current modeling and programming languages and tools.
