Abstract

In this paper, the information-theoretic security of a confidential data transmitting through Hyper Gamma fading channel from a source to a receiver in the existence of an eavesdropper has been analyzed. The Hyper Gamma fading model is befitting to the cognitive radio channel as it is dynamic in nature. So, with a view to investigate the security of Hyper Gamma fading channel, the closed form expressions (CFEs) of ergodic secrecy capacity (ESC), probability of non-zero secrecy capacity (PNSC) and secure outage probability (SOP) have been derived in this paper. The numerical data is also presented here to understand the effects of environment fading and average signal to noise ratio of the communication medium. Moreover, the numerical data are verified through Monte-Carlo Simulations.

Multicast Security at the Physical Layer over Hyper Gamma Fading Channel

Zerin Nusrat, Milton Kumar Kundu, Shanmuga Priya +2 more

The secrecy performance analysis over the channels is done at the physical layer to assure the confidentiality of data. In this paper, the information-theoretic security over Hyper-Gamma fading channel is investigated by constructing a single-source multiple-receiver structure in which several number of eavesdroppers are trying to overhear the transmitted information. On the basis of this assumption, the secrecy performance is addressed by deriving the closed form expressions(CFEs) of probability of non-zero secrecy multicast capacity (PNSMC), ergodic secrecy multicast capacity (ESMC), secure outage probability for multicasting (SOPM). Monte-Carlo Simulations are used to demonstrate the validity of the derived expressions.

Secure Wireless Multicasting with Mixture Gamma Distribution for Generalized-K Fading Channels

Milton Kumar Kundu, M. Z. I. Sarkar, A. S. M. Badrudduza +1 more

This paper concentrates on the analysis of security performance for transmitting confidential data from a source to multiple receivers over Generalized-K fading multicasting channel in the presence of multiple eavesdroppers. All the terminals are equipped with single antenna and all the channels are Generalized-K fading based on mixture gamma distribution. In order to investigate the effects of fading parameters imposed on the Generalized-K fading with mixture gamma distribution, we derive the closed-form analytical expressions for the probability of non-zero secrecy multicast capacity, ergodic secrecy multicast capacity and the secure outage probability for multicasting &. The derived analytical expressions are presented in terms of the fading parameters of Generalized-K fading with mixture gamma distribution so that they are helpful to understand the insight, how the security in multicasting can be enhanced adjusting the parameters of Generalized-K fading channels. Monte-Carlo Simulations have also been performed to validate the analytical results.

Secrecy Analysis Over Correlated Generalized Gamma Fading Channels

Youssef M. Eldokmak, Mahmoud H. Ismail, Mohamed S. Hassan

In this paper, we analyze the secrecy performance assuming correlated generalized gamma fading for the legitimate and eavesdropper channels. Specifically, we derive expressions for the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity, a lower bound on the secrecy outage probability and the average secrecy capacity in case of high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). Monte Carlo simulations were then run verifying the accuracy of our analysis.

Physical Layer Security Analysis Over Composite Generalized Gamma-Lognormal Fading Channels

Youssef M. Eldokmak, Mahmoud H. Ismail, Mohamed S. Hassan

In this paper, we analyze the physical layer security over a composite fading channel where the signal to noise ratio (SNR) follows a small-scale generalized gamma distribution superimposed on a large-scale lognormal one. Expressions for average secrecy capacity at high SNR, probability of non zero secrecy capacity and a lower bound on secrecy outage probability are derived and verified with Monte Carlo simulations.

Physical-Layer Security Analysis over M-Distributed Fading Channels

Sheng‐Hong Lin, Rong-Rong Lu, Xian-Tao Fu +2 more

In this paper, the physical layer security over the M-distributed fading channel is investigated. Initially, an exact expression of secrecy outage probability (SOP) is derived, which has an integral term. To get a closed-form expression, a lower bound of SOP is obtained. After that, the exact expression for the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity (SPSC) is derived, which is in closed-form. Finally, an exact expression of ergodic secrecy capacity (ESC) is derived, which has two integral terms. To reduce its computational complexity, a closed-from expression for the lower bound of ESC is obtained. As special cases of M-distributed fading channels, the secure performance of the K, exponential, and Gamma-Gamma fading channels are also derived, respectively. Numerical results show that all theoretical results match well with Monte-Carlo simulation results. Specifically, when the average signal-to-noise ratio of main channel is larger than 40 dB, the relative errors for the lower bound of SOP, the probability of SPSC, and the lower bound of ESC are less than 1.936%, 6.753%, and 1.845%, respectively. This indicates that the derived theoretical expressions can be directly used to evaluate system performance without time-consuming simulations. Moreover, the derived results regarding parameters that influence the secrecy performance will enable system designers to quickly determine the optimal available parameter choices when facing different security risks.

Information Theoretic Security over α-µ/α-µ Composite Multipath Fading Channel

Milton Kumar Kundu, Sarjana Shabab, A. S. M. Badrudduza

Multipath fading as well as shadowing is liable for the leakage of confidential information from the wireless channels. In this paper a solution to this information leakage is proposed, where a source transmits signal through a α-µ/α-µ composite fading channel considering an eavesdropper is present in the system. Secrecy enhancement is investigated with the help of two fading parameters α and µ. To mitigate the impacts of shadowing a α-µ distribution is considered whose mean is another α-µ distribution which helps to moderate the effects multipath fading. The mathematical expressions of some secrecy matrices such as the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and the secure outage probability are obtained in closed-form to analyze security of the wireless channel in light of the channel parameters. Finally, Monte-Carlo simulations are provided to justify the correctness of the derived expressions.
