Abstract

This paper concentrates on the analysis of security performance for transmitting confidential data from a source to multiple receivers over Generalized-K fading multicasting channel in the presence of multiple eavesdroppers. All the terminals are equipped with single antenna and all the channels are Generalized-K fading based on mixture gamma distribution. In order to investigate the effects of fading parameters imposed on the Generalized-K fading with mixture gamma distribution, we derive the closed-form analytical expressions for the probability of non-zero secrecy multicast capacity, ergodic secrecy multicast capacity and the secure outage probability for multicasting &. The derived analytical expressions are presented in terms of the fading parameters of Generalized-K fading with mixture gamma distribution so that they are helpful to understand the insight, how the security in multicasting can be enhanced adjusting the parameters of Generalized-K fading channels. Monte-Carlo Simulations have also been performed to validate the analytical results.

Enhancing Security in Wireless Multicasting over k - µ Fading Channel

A. S. M. Badrudduza, Milton Kumar Kundu

In this paper, a secure wireless multicast network over k - μ fading channel is considered, where a source transmits secret information to a group of receivers. A group of eavesdroppers are also present in the network which are responsible for wiretapping the transmitted information. A perfect secrecy can be obtained if the eavesdroppers are not able to decode any information from the source. In order to investigate the secrecy capacity of the multicast network, at first a novel expression for Ergodic secrecy multicast capacity is derived in closed-form. The outage performance of the proposed network is analyzed obtaining the closed-form expressions of secure outage probability for multicasting. The effects of fading is determined and a beneficent insight is provided into investigating the secrecy performance of some other common fading scenarios such as Rician, Rayleigh, Nakagami-m, Gaussian etc. using the derived novel expressions of this paper. Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to validate the derived analytical expressions.

Multicast Security at the Physical Layer over Hyper Gamma Fading Channel

Zerin Nusrat, Milton Kumar Kundu, Shanmuga Priya +2 more

The secrecy performance analysis over the channels is done at the physical layer to assure the confidentiality of data. In this paper, the information-theoretic security over Hyper-Gamma fading channel is investigated by constructing a single-source multiple-receiver structure in which several number of eavesdroppers are trying to overhear the transmitted information. On the basis of this assumption, the secrecy performance is addressed by deriving the closed form expressions(CFEs) of probability of non-zero secrecy multicast capacity (PNSMC), ergodic secrecy multicast capacity (ESMC), secure outage probability for multicasting (SOPM). Monte-Carlo Simulations are used to demonstrate the validity of the derived expressions.

On the Enhancement of Secrecy Multicast Capacity over Κ - μ/IG Composite Fading Channel

Md. Shakhawat Hossen, A. S. M. Badrudduza, Abu Hanif +3 more

The confidentiality of wireless multicast network is notably compromised by the concurrent existence of shadowing and fading. To overcome this security threat, mathematical modeling of a multicast scenario is proposed in this paper over κ-μ/ inverse gamma (IG) composite fading channel where transmitted confidential information from source is under malicious attack of multiple eavesdroppers. The well-known physical layer security approach is adopted to analyze the impact of system parameters on secrecy performance in terms of novel expressions of secure outage probability for multicasting, probability of nonzero secrecy multicast capacity and ergodic secrecy multicast capacity. The generalization of security analysis is achieved by demonstrating Rayleigh, Rician, Nakagami-m, κ-μ fading and Gaussian channels as a special scenarios of κ-μ/IG distribution. At the end, analytical results are justified by performing Monte-Carlo Simulations.

Secure Outage Performance Analysis in Multicasting Wireless Networks over Composite Nakagami-Gamma Fading Channels

Mohamed Salah Ibrahim, M. Z. I. Sarkar

The importance of secrecy performance in multicast wireless networks has become paramount as 6 G networks are driving a surge in demand for secure and efficient communication across various applications. To address this challenge, this paper introduces a novel multicast network based on composite Nakagami-Gamma distribution channels, which effectively captures both small- and large-scale fading. Assume that multiple eavesdroppers are attempting to intercept confidential information from the source. To assess secrecy performnce, the analytical expressions for secrecy outage probability for multicasting, probability of non-zero secrecy multicast capacity, and effective secrecy throughput for multicasting are derived in terms of Meijer’s $\mathbf{G}$ function. Numerical results demonstrate that despite the detrimental effect of multiple receivers on secrecy performance, the proposed model can be secured by reducing the severity of fading in the main channel link. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations are employed to verify the accuracy of the analytical results.

Secrecy Performance Analysis over Inverse Gamma Composite Multicast Fading Channels

Abdulkarim Al Hanif, A. S. M. Badrudduza, Md. Shakhawat Hossen +2 more

Secrecy performance of realistic wireless multicast scenarios are significantly deteriorated by simultaneous occurrence of multipath and shadowing which are modeled using composite fading channels. To resolve this security threat, in this paper a framework is proposed where a source transmits private multicast messages to multiple receivers over η - μ / inverse gamma composite fading channels. A group of eavesdroppers are trying to overhear this secret communication. Perfect secrecy is obtained if eavesdropper can not decode any information from the multicast links. Secrecy analysis is carried out deriving closed-form expressions of two well-known secrecy measures i.e. probability of non-zero secrecy capacity and secure outage probability for multicasting. The impacts of multipath, shadowing and other system parameters on the outage performance of the proposed scenario are quantified using the derived expressions. A generic nature of η - μ / inverse gamma distribution is obtained by showing Rayleigh, Nakagami-m, Nakagami-q, η - μ fading and Gaussian channels as a special case of this distribution. Finally, Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to verify the derived expressions.

Secure Wireless Multicasting Over Generalized Gamma Fading Channels

S. M. S. Shahriyer, A. S. M. Badrudduza, M. A. A. Masrur +2 more

The issue of wireless security in Generalized gamma fading is considered in this paper with multiple eavesdropper present in the system. The analysis of security is performed based on the investigation of the parametric effects of Generalized gamma fading channel. The expressions for the measures of the security such as probability of positive secrecy capacity and the secure outage probability are derived in closed-form to facilitate the investigation of that parametric effects. Our results illustrates that the analysis of security in Generalized gamma fading channels introduces a conclusion about the effects of fading parameters in the security of Weibull, Rayleigh and Nakagami-m fading channels. Finally, the analytical results are verified via Monte-Carlo simulation.
