Correlators in integrable quantum field theory: The scaling RSOS models

Abstract

The study of the scaling limit of two-dimensional models of statistical mechanics within the framework of integrable field theory is illustrated through the example of the RSOS models. Starting from the exact description of regime III in terms of colliding particles, we compute the correlation functions of the thermal, $\\phi_{1,2}$ and (for some cases) spin operators in the two-particle approximation. The accuracy obtained for the moments of these correlators is analysed by computing the central charge and the scaling dimensions and comparing with the exact results. We further consider the (generally non-integrable) perturbation of the critical points with both the operators $\\phi_{1,3}$ and $\\phi_{1,2}$ and locate the branches solved on the lattice within the associated two-dimensional phase diagram. Finally we discuss the fact that the RSOS models, the dilute $q$-state Potts model at and the O(n) vector model are all described by the same perturbed conformal field theory.

CRITICAL RSOS MODELS AND CONFORMAL FIELD THEORY

Vladimir V. Bazhanov, Nicolai Reshetikhin

The eigenvalues of the transfer matrix of the generalized RSOS model are exactly calculated. From the consideration of the thermodynamics of the quantum system on the one-dimensional chain connected with the RSOS model, we calculate the central charges of the effective conformal field theories describing the critical behavior of the model in different regimes.

Integrability in statistical physics and quantum spin chains

Jesper Lykke Jacobsen

Abstract This chapter illustrates basic concepts of quantum integrable systems on two important models of statistical physics: the Q-state Potts model and the O(n) model. Both models are transformed into loop and vertex models that provide representations of the dense and dilute Temperley–Lieb algebras. The identification of the corresponding integrable R-matrices leads to the solution of both models by the algebraic Bethe Ansatz technique. Elementary excitations are discussed in the critical case and the link to conformal field theory in the thermodynamic limit is established. The concluding sections outline the solution of a specific model of the theta point of collapsing polymers, leading to a continuum limit with a non-compact target space.

Entanglement entropy from corner transfer matrix in Forrester–Baxter non-unitary RSOS models

Davide Bianchini, Francesco Ravanini

Abstract Using a corner transfer matrix approach, we compute the bipartite entanglement Rényi entropy in the off-critical perturbations of non-unitary conformal minimal models realised by lattice spin chains Hamiltonians related to the Forrester–Baxter RSOS models (Bianchini et al 2015 J. Stat. Mech. P03010 ) in regime III. This allows to show on a set of explicit examples that the Rényi entropies for non-unitary theories rescale near criticality as the logarithm of the correlation length with a coefficient proportional to the effective central charge. This complements a similar result, recently established for the size rescaling at the critical point (Bianchini et al 2015 J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 48 04FT01 ), showing the expected agreement of the two behaviours. We also compute the first subleading unusual correction to the scaling behaviour, showing that it is expressible in terms of expansions of various fractional powers of the correlation length, related to the differences between the conformal dimensions of fields in the theory and the minimal conformal dimension. Finally, a few observations on the limit leading to the off-critical logarithmic minimal models of Pearce and Seaton (2012 J. Stat. Mech. P09014 ) are put forward.
