The effect of mass center motion on a two-level atom emission spectrum

Hong Wei Guo, Zhao Li-Yan, (1)华中师范大学物理科学与技术学院,武汉 430079; (2)华中师范大学物理科学与技术学院,武汉 430079;中国科学院武汉物理与数学研究所,武汉 430071

The emission spectrum of a two-level atom in a harmonic trap is studied. It is shown that atomic motion do not affect the atomic spectrum phase sensitivity when there is no correlation between atomic mass center motion and the field. With the increase of the average energy of atomic center motion, the peaks move towards each other, their heights change with the state of the field and atomic motion. When there is correlation between atomic mass center motion and the field, the atomic spectrum becomes insensitive to the relative phase between the field and the atomic dipole. Under certain conditions, there are fewer peaks, and they become higher and narrower.

Effect of Atomic Motion on Decoherence of Entanglement

Zhang Feng-lan

The parameters of atomic motion and the field mode structure are introduced into JC model. The effect of atomic motion on concurrence of two atoms is investigated, and the variation rule of decoherence property with the parameter of atomic motion is obtained. The results show that the atomic motion can give rise to obvious decoherence of entanglement. However,by choosing approximate parameters of the system, this kind of decoherence can be restrained maximally.

Influence of atomic motion on the population and dipole squeezing of a cascade three-level atom in cavity field

Ai‐Dong Zhu, Zhang Shou

The dynamical property of a cascade three-level atom is investigated in the condition of atomic motion. The influence of atomic motion on the population and dipole squeezing is discussed. The results show that atomic motion makes the amplitude of atomic population be steady and increasing the parameter ε p which denotes the atomic motion and the structure of field mode can shorten the period of collapse–revivals. By choosing an appropriate parameter ε p , we can obtain a dipole squeezed atom of long standing.
