Entanglement and statistical properties in cavity optomechanics with a single atom

Abstract We put forward a proposal to prepare tripartite interplay in a cavity optomechanical system with a two-level atom. We study the dynamical properties of the atomic linear entropy and find that the entanglement between the atom and the subsystem of the field and mechanical resonator can be effectively manipulated by atom coherence. The Mandel parameter is employed to reveal the sub-Poissonian statistics of the optical and mechanical modes. Moreover, we discuss the influence of the system dissipations, including atomic, optical and mechanical modes, on the temporal evolution of the linear entropy and the Mandel parameters.

Optical bistability and dynamics in an optomechanical system with a two-level atom

Cheng Jiang, Xintian Bian, Yuanshun Cui +1 more

We study the optical bistability and dynamics in a hybrid optomechanical system, where the cavity mode is coupled to the mechanical resonator via radiation pressure and to a two-level atom via the Jaynes–Cummings coupling. The nonlinearity due to optomechanical coupling and the addition of an atom leads to bistable behaviors of the steady-state intracavity photon number and atomic population inversion. We show that the optical bistability can be effectively controlled by the Rabi frequency of the atomic driving field, the cavity–atom coupling strength, and the amplitude and frequency of the cavity pump field. Moreover, the effects of different initial conditions of the cavity field and the amplitude of the cavity pump field on the dynamics of the system also have been discussed.

Optical response properties and bipartite entanglement in a hybrid optomechanical system assisted by Kerr-nonlinearity and amplitude modulated drive field

Surabhi Yadav, Vijay Bhatt, Aranya B. Bhattacherjee +1 more

Abstract We theoretically investigate the optomechanical interaction between an optical field and a mechanical mode mediated by a Kerr nonlinear medium inside an optical cavity and simultaneously driven by an external amplitude-modulated pump field and a probe field. We show that switching between bistability and multistability is influenced by the rocking parameter and Kerr nonlinearity. Further, we study the quantum fluctuation dynamics of the system, which shows the quantum coherence and interference effects resulting in the transmission of the probe field from opacity to amplification. We also find that the rocking parameter, Kerr nonlinearity, and the optomechanical coupling influence the transmission spectrum. In addition, we also show that the rocking parameter significantly enhances the optomechanical coupling, which can be a new handle to control the entanglement between the optical and mechanical modes. The results show that such a hybrid optomechanical system has potential application in designing and optimizing all-optical switching and optical sensors.
